The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin,

Словы Ярэміі, сына Хэлькіі, са сьвятароў, якія [былі] ў Анатоце ў зямлі Бэн’яміна.

to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

Да яго было слова ГОСПАДА ў дні Ёсіі, сына Амона, валадара Юды, у трынаццатым годзе валадараньня ягонага,

It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.

і ў дні Егаякіма, сына Ёсіі, валадара Юды, аж да канца адзінаццатага году Сэдэкіі, сына Ёсіі, валадара Юды, аж да няволі Ерусаліму ў пятым месяцы.

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

І было да мяне слова ГОСПАДА, кажучы:

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified[a] you; I [b]ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

«Перш, чым Я ўфармаваў цябе ва ўлоньні [маці], Я ведаў цябе; перш, чым ты выйшаў з чэрава, Я пасьвяціў цябе, прарокам для народаў Я паставіў цябе».

Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”

А я сказаў: «Госпадзе ГОСПАДЗЕ! Вось, я ня ўмею гаварыць, бо я яшчэ юнак!»

But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.

І сказаў ГОСПАД мне: «Не кажы: “Я юнак”, бо да ўсіх, да каго Я цябе пашлю, ты пойдзеш, і ўсё, што Я табе загадаю, будзеш казаць.

Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.

Ня бойся абліччаў іхніх, бо Я з табою, каб цябе захоўваць, кажа ГОСПАД».

Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.

І выцягнуў ГОСПАД руку Сваю, і дакрануўся да вуснаў маіх, і сказаў ГОСПАД мне: «Вось, Я кладу слова Маё ў вусны твае.

See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.”

Глядзі, Я стаўлю цябе сёньня над народамі і валадарствамі, каб вырываў і разбураў, каб нішчыў і руйнаваў, каб садзіў і будаваў».

Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a [c]branch of an almond tree.”

І было слова ГОСПАДА да мяне, кажучы: «Што ты бачыш, Ярэмія?» І я сказаў: «Бачу галінку дрэва мігдалёвага».

Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [d]ready to perform My word.”

І сказаў ГОСПАД мне: «Добра бачыш, бо Я пільную слова Маё, каб споўніць яго».

And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see a boiling pot, and it is facing away from the north.”

І было слова ГОСПАДА да мяне другі раз, кажучы: «Што ты бачыш?» Я адказаў: «Бачу кацёл, які кіпіць, і аблічча ягонае [нахілена] з паўночнага боку».

Then the Lord said to me: “Out of the north calamity shall break forth On all the inhabitants of the land.

І сказаў мне ГОСПАД: «З поўначы прыйдзе загуба на ўсіх жыхароў зямлі.

For behold, I am calling All the families of the kingdoms of the north,” says the Lord; “They shall come and each one set his throne At the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, Against all its walls all around, And against all the cities of Judah.

Бо вось, Я паклічу плямёны валадарстваў поўначы, кажа ГОСПАД, і яны прыйдуць, і паставяць кожны пасад свой каля ўваходу ў брамы Ерусаліму і супраць усіх муроў ягоных навокал, і супраць усіх гарадоў Юды.

I will utter My judgments Against them concerning all their wickedness, Because they have forsaken Me, Burned incense to other gods, And worshiped the works of their own hands.

І Я выдам прысуд на іх за ўсю ліхоту іхнюю, што пакінулі Мяне, і кадзілі багам чужым, і пакланяліся творам рук сваіх.

“Therefore prepare yourself and arise, And speak to them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed before their faces, Lest I dismay you before them.

А ты падперажы сьцёгны твае і ўстань, і прамоў да іх усё, што Я табе загадаю. Ня бойся абліччаў іхніх, каб Я не напоўніў цябе страхам перад абліччам іхнім.

For behold, I have made you this day A fortified city and an iron pillar, And bronze walls against the whole land — Against the kings of Judah, Against its princes, Against its priests, And against the people of the land.

І вось, сёньня Я раблю цябе горадам умацаваным, слупом жалезным і мурам мядзяным супраць усёй зямлі гэтай, супраць валадароў Юды, супраць князёў іхніх, супраць сьвятароў іхніх і супраць народу зямлі гэтай.

They will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,” says the Lord, “to deliver you.”

І яны будуць ваяваць супраць цябе, але не перамогуць цябе, бо Я з табою, кажа ГОСПАД, каб ратаваць цябе».
