The words of Jeremiah the son of Hilkiah, of the priests who were in Anathoth in the land of Benjamin,

Словы Ярэміі, сына Хэлькіі, з ліку святароў, якія былі ў Анатоце, у зямлі Бэньяміна.

to whom the word of the Lord came in the days of Josiah the son of Amon, king of Judah, in the thirteenth year of his reign.

Да яго скіраваў Госпад слова ў дні Осіі, сына Амона, цара Юдэйскага, у трынаццатым годзе яго царавання,

It came also in the days of Jehoiakim the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the end of the eleventh year of Zedekiah the son of Josiah, king of Judah, until the carrying away of Jerusalem captive in the fifth month.

і было ў дні Ёакіма, сына Осіі, цара Юдэйскага, аж да канца адзінаццатага года Сэдэцыі, сына Осіі, цара Юдэйскага, аж да перасялення Ерузаліма ў пятым месяцы.

Then the word of the Lord came to me, saying:

Госпад скіраваў да мяне слова, кажучы:

“Before I formed you in the womb I knew you; Before you were born I sanctified[a] you; I [b]ordained you a prophet to the nations.”

«Перш, чым Я ўфармаваў цябе ва ўлонні, Я ведаў цябе, і перш, чым выйшаў ты з нутра, Я пасвяціў цябе і паставіў цябе прарокам для народаў».

Then said I: “Ah, Lord God! Behold, I cannot speak, for I am a youth.”

І сказаў я: «О Госпадзе, Божа! Дык жа я не ўмею гаварыць, бо я яшчэ юнак!»

But the Lord said to me: “Do not say, ‘I am a youth,’ For you shall go to all to whom I send you, And whatever I command you, you shall speak.

І сказаў мне Госпад: «Не кажы: “Я юнак”, бо ты пойдзеш да ўсіх, да каго Я цябе пашлю, і будзеш казаць усё, што Я табе даручу.

Do not be afraid of their faces, For I am with you to deliver you,” says the Lord.

Не бойся іх, бо Я з табою, каб цябе ратаваць», — кажа Госпад.

Then the Lord put forth His hand and touched my mouth, and the Lord said to me: “Behold, I have put My words in your mouth.

І працягнуў Госпад руку Сваю, і дакрануўся да вуснаў маіх, і сказаў мне Госпад: «Вось, перадаў Я словы Мае вуснамі тваімі;

See, I have this day set you over the nations and over the kingdoms, To root out and to pull down, To destroy and to throw down, To build and to plant.”

зірні: Я даю табе сёння ўладу над валадарствамі, каб вырываў і разбураў, каб нішчыў і руйнаваў, каб садзіў і будаваў».

Moreover the word of the Lord came to me, saying, “Jeremiah, what do you see?” And I said, “I see a [c]branch of an almond tree.”

І скіраваў Госпад да мяне наступнае слова: «Што ты бачыш, Ярэмія?» І адказаў я: «Бачу я галіну міндальнага дрэва Таго, Хто чувае».

Then the Lord said to me, “You have seen well, for I am [d]ready to perform My word.”

Госпад жа сказаў мне: «Добра бачыш, бо Я чуваю над словам Маім, каб скора споўніць яго».

And the word of the Lord came to me the second time, saying, “What do you see?” And I said, “I see a boiling pot, and it is facing away from the north.”

Другі раз скіраваў Госпад слова Сваё да мяне: «Што ты бачыш?» І сказаў я: «Бачу я кацёл, што кіпіць, і твар яго з паўночнага боку».

Then the Lord said to me: “Out of the north calamity shall break forth On all the inhabitants of the land.

І сказаў мне Госпад: «Ад поўначы распрастрэцца ліха на ўсіх жыхароў зямлі,

For behold, I am calling All the families of the kingdoms of the north,” says the Lord; “They shall come and each one set his throne At the entrance of the gates of Jerusalem, Against all its walls all around, And against all the cities of Judah.

бо вось, Я склічу ўсе валадарствы поўначы, — кажа Госпад, — і прыйдуць яны, і паставяць кожны свой пасад ля ўваходу ў брамы Ерузаліма, і супраць усіх муроў яго навокал, і супраць усіх гарадоў юдэйскіх.

I will utter My judgments Against them concerning all their wickedness, Because they have forsaken Me, Burned incense to other gods, And worshiped the works of their own hands.

І выдам прысуды Мае на іх за ўсю іх ліхоту, што пакінулі Мяне, і палілі кадзіла чужым багам, ды пакланяліся творам рук сваіх.

“Therefore prepare yourself and arise, And speak to them all that I command you. Do not be dismayed before their faces, Lest I dismay you before them.

Ты, вось, перапаяшы сцёгны свае, устань і гавары ім усё, што Я табе загадваю. Не бойся іх, каб Я часам не напоўніў цябе страхам перад імі.

For behold, I have made you this day A fortified city and an iron pillar, And bronze walls against the whole land — Against the kings of Judah, Against its princes, Against its priests, And against the people of the land.

Вось, сёння Я раблю цябе мураванай цвярдыняй, жалезным слупам і медным мурам супраць усёй зямлі, для цароў юдэйскіх, для кіраўнікоў іх і святароў, і для народа зямлі.

They will fight against you, But they shall not prevail against you. For I am with you,” says the Lord, “to deliver you.”

І будуць яны ваяваць супраць цябе, але не змогуць цябе перамагчы, бо Я з табою, — кажа Госпад, — каб ратаваць цябе».
