The Elder, To the [a]elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth,

Старэйшына — да Выбранай Пані і яе дзяцей, якіх я люблю ў праўдзе, і не толькі я, але і ўсе, хто пазнаў праўду

because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:

дзеля праўды, якая трывае ў нас і будзе з намі навекі.

Grace, mercy, and peace will be with [b]you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Ласка, міласэрнасць ды спакой ад Бога і ад Езуса Хрыста, Сына Айца, няхай будзе з намі ў праўдзе і любові.

I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father.

Я вельмі ўзрадаваўся, што знайшоў сярод тваіх дзяцей такіх, якія паступаюць згодна з праўдаю паводле запаведзі, якую мы атрымалі ад Айца.

And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another.

І цяпер прашу цябе, Пані, не як новую запаведзь пішучы табе, але тую, якую маем ад пачатку, каб мы любілі адзін аднаго.

This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.

Любоў заключаецца ў тым, каб мы паступалі паводле Ягоных запаведзяў. А запаведзь гэтая тая, якую вы чулі ад пачатку, каб вы паступалі паводле яе.

For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Бо шмат ашуканцаў прыйшло ў свет, якія не прызнаюць, што Езус Хрыстус прыйшоў у целе. Такі ёсць ашуканцам і антыхрыстам.

Look to yourselves, that [c]we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.

Зважайце на сябе, каб вы не страцілі таго, над чым мы працавалі, але каб атрымалі поўную ўзнагароду.

Whoever [d]transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

Кожны, хто выходзіць наперад і не трывае ў вучэнні Хрыста, не мае Бога. Хто ж трывае ў вучэнні, той мае і Айца, і Сына.

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;

Калі хто прыходзіць да вас і не прыносіць гэтага вучэння, не прымайце яго ў дом і не вітайце.

for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

Хто прывітае яго, той удзельнічае ў яго дрэнных справах.

Having many things to write to you, I did not wish to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.

Пра многае маю напісаць вам, але не хачу на паперы атрамантам, бо спадзяюся быць у вас і паразмаўляць з вамі, каб радасць нашая была поўнай.

The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen.

Вітаюць цябе дзеці тваёй Выбранай Сястры.
