We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,a whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.

Праз тое, што было ад пачатку, тое, што мы чулі, што бачылі ачыма сваімі, да чога прыглядаліся і да чога датыкаліся рукамі сваімі, — праз Слова жыцьця, —

This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.

Бо жыцьцё зьявілася, і мы бачылі, і сьветчым, і абяшчаем вам гэта жыцьцё вечнае, каторае было ў Вайца і зьявілася нам, —

We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

Праз тое, што мы бачылі й чулі, абяшчаем вам, каб і вы мелі ўзаем’е з намі; а наша ўзаем’е — з Айцом а Сынам Ягоным, Ісусам Хрыстом.

We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.b

І гэта пішам вам, каб радасьць вашая была супоўная.

This is the message we heard from Jesusc and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

І гэтую ведамку, што мы чулі ад Яго, і агалашаем вам, што Бог ё сьвятліня, і цямноты ў Ім ані няма.

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

Калі мы скажам, што маем узаем’е зь Ім, а ходзім у цемні, дык мы манім і ня чынім праўды.

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

Але калі ходзім у сьвятліні, як Ён у сьвятліні, дык маем узаем’е адзін із адным, і кроў Ісуса Хрыста, Сына Ягонага, ачышчае нас ад усялякага грэху.

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.

Калі кажам, што ня маем грэху, — ашукуем самых сябе, і праўды няма ў нас.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Калі вызнаваем грахі свае, дык Ён, верны а справядлівы, каб дараваць нам грахі і ачысьціць нас ад усялякае несправядлівасьці.

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

Калі кажам, што мы не ізграшылі, чынім Яго манюкаю, і Слова Ягонага няма ў нас.
