We proclaim to you the one who existed from the beginning,a whom we have heard and seen. We saw him with our own eyes and touched him with our own hands. He is the Word of life.

О том, что бы́ло от нача́ла, что мы слы́шали, что ви́дели свои́ми оча́ми, что рассма́тривали и что осяза́ли ру́ки на́ши, о Сло́ве жи́зни, —

This one who is life itself was revealed to us, and we have seen him. And now we testify and proclaim to you that he is the one who is eternal life. He was with the Father, and then he was revealed to us.

и́бо жизнь яви́лась, и мы ви́дели и свиде́тельствуем, и возвеща́ем вам сию́ ве́чную жизнь, кото́рая была́ у Отца́ и яви́лась нам, —

We proclaim to you what we ourselves have actually seen and heard so that you may have fellowship with us. And our fellowship is with the Father and with his Son, Jesus Christ.

о том, что мы ви́дели и слы́шали, возвеща́ем вам, что́бы и вы име́ли обще́ние с на́ми: а на́ше обще́ние — с Отцо́м и Сы́ном Его́, Иису́сом Христо́м.

We are writing these things so that you may fully share our joy.b

И сие́ пи́шем вам, что́бы ра́дость ва́ша была́ соверше́нна.

This is the message we heard from Jesusc and now declare to you: God is light, and there is no darkness in him at all.

И вот благове́стие, кото́рое мы слы́шали от Него́ и возвеща́ем вам: Бог есть свет, и нет в Нём никако́й тьмы.

So we are lying if we say we have fellowship with God but go on living in spiritual darkness; we are not practicing the truth.

Е́сли мы говори́м, что име́ем обще́ние с Ним, а хо́дим во тьме, то мы лжём и не поступа́ем по и́стине;

But if we are living in the light, as God is in the light, then we have fellowship with each other, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, cleanses us from all sin.

е́сли же хо́дим во све́те, подо́бно как Он во све́те, то име́ем обще́ние друг с дру́гом, и Кровь Иису́са Христа́, Сы́на Его́, очища́ет нас от вся́кого греха́.

If we claim we have no sin, we are only fooling ourselves and not living in the truth.

Е́сли говори́м, что не име́ем греха́, — обма́нываем сами́х себя́, и и́стины нет в нас.

But if we confess our sins to him, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all wickedness.

Е́сли испове́дуем грехи́ на́ши, то Он, бу́дучи ве́рен и пра́веден, прости́т нам грехи́ на́ши и очи́стит нас от вся́кой непра́вды.

If we claim we have not sinned, we are calling God a liar and showing that his word has no place in our hearts.

Е́сли говори́м, что мы не согреши́ли, то представля́ем Его́ лжи́вым, и сло́ва Его́ нет в нас.
