Старшы — выбра́най пані і дзе́цям яе́, каторых я запраўды люблю, (і ня толькі я, але і ўсе́, што праўду пазналі),

The Elder, To the [a]elect lady and her children, whom I love in truth, and not only I, but also all those who have known the truth,

дзе́ля праўды, якая прабывае ў нас і будзе з намі наве́кі,

because of the truth which abides in us and will be with us forever:

няхай будзе з вамі ласка, зьмілаваньне, мір ад Бога Айца і ад Госпада Ісуса Хрыста, Сына Айца, у праўдзе і любві!

Grace, mercy, and peace will be with [b]you from God the Father and from the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of the Father, in truth and love.

Я дужа ўце́шыўся, што знайшоў сярод дзяце́й тваіх такіх, што ходзяць у праўдзе паводле таго, як мы дасталі запаведзь ад Айца.

I rejoiced greatly that I have found some of your children walking in truth, as we received commandment from the Father.

І сягоньня прашу цябе́, пані, не як новую запаведзь пішучы табе́, але тую, што маем ад пачатку: каб мы любілі адзін аднаго.

And now I plead with you, lady, not as though I wrote a new commandment to you, but that which we have had from the beginning: that we love one another.

І тое ёсьць любоў, каб мы жылі паводле запаведзяў Яго. Гэта — тая запаведзь, якую вы чулі ад пачатку, каб паводле яе́ хадзілі.

This is love, that we walk according to His commandments. This is the commandment, that as you have heard from the beginning, you should walk in it.

Бо многа зводнікаў увайшло ў сьве́т, якія не вызнаваюць Ісуса Хрыста, што ў це́ле прыйшоў: гэткі чалаве́к ёсьць зводнік і антыхрыст.

For many deceivers have gone out into the world who do not confess Jesus Christ as coming in the flesh. This is a deceiver and an antichrist.

Глядзе́це за сабою, каб нам ня згубіць таго, над чым мы працавалі, але каб атрымаць поўную нагароду.

Look to yourselves, that [c]we do not lose those things we worked for, but that we may receive a full reward.

Кожын, хто пераступае навуку Хрыстовую і не прабывае ў ёй, ня мае Бога; хто-ж прабывае ў навуцы Хрыстовай, той мае і Айца, і Сына.

Whoever [d]transgresses and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God. He who abides in the doctrine of Christ has both the Father and the Son.

Хто прыходзіць да вас і ня прыносіць гэтае навукі, таго ня прымайце ў дом і ня вітайце яго;

If anyone comes to you and does not bring this doctrine, do not receive him into your house nor greet him;

бо хто вітае яго, той прымае ўдзе́л у благіх учынках яго.

for he who greets him shares in his evil deeds.

Шмат маю пісаць да вас, але не хачу на папе́ры ды чарніламі, але спадзяюся прыйсьці да вас і гаварыць вуснамі ў вусны, каб радасьць вашая была поўная.

Having many things to write to you, I did not wish to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, that our joy may be full.

Вітаюць цябе́ дзе́ці сястры твае́ выбра́нае. Амін.

The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen.
