The LORD gave Jeremiah the prophet this message concerning Babylon and the land of the Babylonians.a

Слово, которое изрёк Господь о Вавилоне и о земле Халдеев через Иеремию пророка:

This is what the LORD says: “Tell the whole world, and keep nothing back. Raise a signal flag to tell everyone that Babylon will fall! Her images and idolsb will be shattered. Her gods Bel and Marduk will be utterly disgraced.

возвестите и разгласите между народами, и поднимите знамя, объявите, не скрывайте, говорите: «Вавилон взят, Вил посрамлён, Меродах сокрушён, истуканы его посрамлены, идолы его сокрушены».

For a nation will attack her from the north and bring such destruction that no one will live there again. Everything will be gone; both people and animals will flee. Hope for Israel and Judah

Ибо от севера поднялся против него народ, который сделает землю его пустынею, и никто не будет жить там, от человека до скота, все двинутся и уйдут.

“In those coming days,” says the LORD, “the people of Israel will return home together with the people of Judah. They will come weeping and seeking the LORD their God.

В те дни и в то время, говорит Господь, придут сыновья Израилевы, они и сыновья Иудины вместе, будут ходить и плакать, и взыщут Господа Бога своего.

They will ask the way to Jerusalemc and will start back home again. They will bind themselves to the LORD with an eternal covenant that will never be forgotten.

Будут спрашивать о пути к Сиону, и, обращая к нему лица, будут говорить: «идите и присоединитесь к Господу союзом вечным, который не забудется».

“My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray and turned them loose in the mountains. They have lost their way and can’t remember how to get back to the sheepfold.

Народ Мой был как погибшие овцы; пастыри их совратили их с пути, разогнали их по горам; скитались они с горы на холм, забыли ложе своё.

All who found them devoured them. Their enemies said, ‘We did nothing wrong in attacking them, for they sinned against the LORD, their true place of rest, and the hope of their ancestors.’

Все, которые находили их, пожирали их, и притеснители их говорили: «мы не виноваты, потому что они согрешили пред Господом, пред жилищем правды, и пред Господом, надеждою отцов их».

“But now, flee from Babylon! Leave the land of the Babylonians. Like male goats at the head of the flock, lead my people home again.

Бегите из среды Вавилона, и уходите из Халдейской земли, и будьте как козлы впереди стада овец.

For I am raising up an army of great nations from the north. They will join forces to attack Babylon, and she will be captured. The enemies’ arrows will go straight to the mark; they will not miss!

Ибо вот, Я подниму и приведу на Вавилон сборище великих народов от земли северной, и расположатся против него, и он будет взят; стрелы у них, как у искусного воина, не возвращаются даром.

Babyloniad will be looted until the attackers are glutted with loot. I, the LORD, have spoken! Babylon’s Sure Fall

И Халдея сделается добычею их; и опустошители её насытятся, говорит Господь.

“You rejoice and are glad, you who plundered my chosen people. You frisk about like a calf in a meadow and neigh like a stallion.

Ибо вы веселились, вы торжествовали, расхитители наследия Моего; прыгали от радости, как телица на траве, и ржали, как боевые кони.

But your homelande will be overwhelmed with shame and disgrace. You will become the least of nations — a wilderness, a dry and desolate land.

В большом стыде будет мать ваша, покраснеет родившая вас; вот будущность тех народов — пустыня, сухая земля и степь.

Because of the LORD’s anger, Babylon will become a deserted wasteland. All who pass by will be horrified and will gasp at the destruction they see there.

От гнева Господа она сделается необитаемою, и вся она будет пуста; всякий проходящий через Вавилон изумится и посвищет, смотря на все язвы его.

“Yes, prepare to attack Babylon, all you surrounding nations. Let your archers shoot at her; spare no arrows. For she has sinned against the LORD.

Выстройтесь в боевой порядок вокруг Вавилона; все, натягивающие лук, стреляйте в него, не жалейте стрел, ибо он согрешил против Господа.

Shout war cries against her from every side. Look! She surrenders! Her walls have fallen. It is the LORD’s vengeance, so take vengeance on her. Do to her as she has done to others!

Поднимите крик против него со всех сторон; он подал руку свою; пали твердыни его, рушились стены его, ибо это — возмездие Господа; отмщайте ему; как он поступал, так и вы поступайте с ним.

Take from Babylon all those who plant crops; send all the harvesters away. Because of the sword of the enemy, everyone will run away and rush back to their own lands. Hope for God’s People

Истребите в Вавилоне и сеющего и действующего серпом во время жатвы; от страха губительного меча пусть каждый возвратится к народу своему, и каждый пусть бежит в землю свою.

“The Israelites are like sheep that have been scattered by lions. First the king of Assyria ate them up. Then King Nebuchadnezzarf of Babylon cracked their bones.”

Израиль — рассеянное стадо; львы разогнали его; прежде объедал его царь Ассирийский, а сей последний, Навуходоносор, царь Вавилонский, и кости его сокрушил.

Therefore, this is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies, the God of Israel, says: “Now I will punish the king of Babylon and his land, just as I punished the king of Assyria.

Посему так говорит Господь Саваоф, Бог Израилев: вот, Я посещу царя Вавилонского и землю его, как посетил царя Ассирийского.

And I will bring Israel home again to its own land, to feed in the fields of Carmel and Bashan, and to be satisfied once more in the hill country of Ephraim and Gilead.

И возвращу Израиля на пажить его, и будет он пастись на Кармиле и Васане, и душа его насытится на горе Ефремовой и в Галааде.

In those days,” says the LORD, “no sin will be found in Israel or in Judah, for I will forgive the remnant I preserve. The LORD’s Judgment on Babylon

В те дни и в то время, говорит Господь, будут искать неправды Израилевой, и не будет её, и грехов Иуды, и не найдётся их; ибо прощу тех, которых оставлю в живых.

“Go up, my warriors, against the land of Merathaim and against the people of Pekod. Pursue, kill, and completely destroyg them, as I have commanded you,” says the LORD.

Иди на неё, на землю возмутительную, и накажи жителей её; опустошай и истребляй всё за ними, говорит Господь, и сделай всё, что Я повелел тебе.

“Let the battle cry be heard in the land, a shout of great destruction.

Шум брани на земле и великое разрушение!

Babylon, the mightiest hammer in all the earth, lies broken and shattered. Babylon is desolate among the nations!

Как разбит и сокрушён молот всей земли! Как Вавилон сделался ужасом между народами!

Listen, Babylon, for I have set a trap for you. You are caught, for you have fought against the LORD.

Я расставил сети для тебя, и ты пойман, Вавилон, не предвидя того; ты найден и схвачен, потому что восстал против Господа.

The LORD has opened his armory and brought out weapons to vent his fury. The terror that falls upon the Babylonians will be the work of the Sovereign LORD of Heaven’s Armies.

Господь открыл хранилище Своё и взял из него сосуды гнева Своего, потому что у Господа Бога Саваофа есть дело в земле Халдейской.

Yes, come against her from distant lands. Break open her granaries. Crush her walls and houses into heaps of rubble. Destroy her completely, and leave nothing!

Идите на неё со всех краёв, растворяйте житницы её, топчите её как снопы, совсем истребите её, чтобы ничего от неё не осталось.

Destroy even her young bulls — it will be terrible for them, too! Slaughter them all! For Babylon’s day of reckoning has come.

Убивайте всех волов её, пусть идут на заклание; горе им! ибо пришёл день их, время посещения их.

Listen to the people who have escaped from Babylon, as they tell in Jerusalem how the LORD our God has taken vengeance against those who destroyed his Temple.

Слышен голос бегущих и спасающихся из земли Вавилонской, чтобы возвестить на Сионе о мщении Господа Бога нашего, о мщении за храм Его.

“Send out a call for archers to come to Babylon. Surround the city so none can escape. Do to her as she has done to others, for she has defied the LORD, the Holy One of Israel.

Созовите против Вавилона стрельцов; все, напрягающие лук, расположитесь станом вокруг него, чтобы никто не спасся из него; воздайте ему по делам его; как он поступал, так поступите и с ним, ибо он вознёсся против Господа, против Святого Израилева.

Her young men will fall in the streets and die. Her soldiers will all be killed,” says the LORD.

За то падут юноши его на улицах его, и все воины его истреблены будут в тот день, говорит Господь.

“See, I am your enemy, you arrogant people,” says the Lord, the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. “Your day of reckoning has arrived — the day when I will punish you.

Вот, Я — на тебя, гордыня, говорит Господь Бог Саваоф; ибо пришёл день твой, время посещения твоего.

O land of arrogance, you will stumble and fall, and no one will raise you up. For I will light a fire in the cities of Babylon that will burn up everything around them.”

И споткнётся гордыня, и упадёт, и никто не поднимет его; и зажгу огонь в городах его, и пожрёт всё вокруг него.

This is what the LORD of Heaven’s Armies says: “The people of Israel and Judah have been wronged. Their captors hold them and refuse to let them go.

Так говорит Господь Саваоф: угнетены сыновья Израиля, как и сыновья Иуды, и все, пленившие их, крепко держат их и не хотят отпустить их.

But the one who redeems them is strong. His name is the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. He will defend them and give them rest again in Israel. But for the people of Babylon there will be no rest!

Но Искупитель их силён, Господь Саваоф имя Его; Он разберёт дело их, чтобы успокоить землю и привести в трепет жителей Вавилона.

“The sword of destruction will strike the Babylonians,” says the LORD. “It will strike the people of Babylon — her officials and wise men, too.

Меч на Халдеев, говорит Господь, и на жителей Вавилона, и на князей его, и на мудрых его;

The sword will strike her wise counselors, and they will become fools. The sword will strike her mightiest warriors, and panic will seize them.

меч на обаятелей, и они обезумеют; меч на воинов его, и они оробеют;

The sword will strike her horses and chariots and her allies from other lands, and they will all become like women. The sword will strike her treasures, and they all will be plundered.

меч на коней его и на колесницы его и на все разноплемённые народы среди него, и они будут как женщины; меч на сокровища его, и они будут расхищены;

A droughth will strike her water supply, causing it to dry up. And why? Because the whole land is filled with idols, and the people are madly in love with them.

засуха на воды его, и они иссякнут; ибо это земля истуканов, и они обезумеют от идольских страшилищ.

“Soon Babylon will be inhabited by desert animals and hyenas. It will be a home for owls. Never again will people live there; it will lie desolate forever.

И поселятся там степные звери с шакалами, и будут жить на ней страусы, и не будет обитаема вовеки и населяема в роды родов.

I will destroy it as Ii destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah and their neighboring towns,” says the LORD. “No one will live there; no one will inhabit it.

Как ниспровержены Богом Содом и Гоморра и соседние города их, говорит Господь, так и тут ни один человек не будет жить, и сын человеческий не будет останавливаться.

“Look! A great army is coming from the north. A great nation and many kings are rising against you from far-off lands.

Вот, идёт народ от севера, и народ великий, и многие цари поднимаются от краёв земли;

They are armed with bows and spears. They are cruel and show no mercy. As they ride forward on horses, they sound like a roaring sea. They are coming in battle formation, planning to destroy you, Babylon.

держат в руках лук и копьё; они жестоки и немилосердны; голос их шумен, как море; несутся на конях, выстроились как один человек, чтобы сразиться с тобою, дочь Вавилона.

The king of Babylon has heard reports about the enemy, and he is weak with fright. Pangs of anguish have gripped him, like those of a woman in labor.

Услышал царь Вавилонский весть о них, и руки у него опустились; скорбь объяла его, муки, как женщину в родах.

“I will come like a lion from the thickets of the Jordan, leaping on the sheep in the pasture. I will chase Babylon from its land, and I will appoint the leader of my choice. For who is like me, and who can challenge me? What ruler can oppose my will?”

Вот, восходит он, как лев, от возвышения Иордана на укреплённые жилища; но Я заставлю их поспешно уйти из него, и, кто избран, тому вверю его. Ибо кто подобен Мне? и кто потребует от Меня ответа? И какой пастырь противостанет Мне?

Listen to the LORD’s plans against Babylon and the land of the Babylonians. Even the little children will be dragged off like sheep, and their homes will be destroyed.

Итак, выслушайте определение Господа, какое Он постановил о Вавилоне, и намерения Его, какие Он имеет о земле Халдейской: истинно, самые малые из стад повлекут их; истинно, он опустошит жилища их с ними.

The earth will shake with the shout, “Babylon has been taken!” and its cry of despair will be heard around the world.

От шума взятия Вавилона потрясётся земля, и вопль будет слышен между народами.
