По этой причине, так как поручена нам эта служба по милости Божьей, мы не отчаиваемся.

Therefore, since God in his mercy has given us this new way,a we never give up.

Напротив, мы отвергли все тайные и постыдные дела, не занимаемся плутовством, не извращаем послание Божье. Провозглашая истину открыто, мы предаём себя совести человеческой перед Богом.

We reject all shameful deeds and underhanded methods. We don’t try to trick anyone or distort the word of God. We tell the truth before God, and all who are honest know this.

И если благая весть, которую мы проповедуем, скрыта под пеленой, то только для тех, кто на пути к погибели.

If the Good News we preach is hidden behind a veil, it is hidden only from people who are perishing.

Притупились умы неверующих по воле бога века сего, и они не видят света благовестия о славе Христа, Кто есть образ Бога.

Satan, who is the god of this world, has blinded the minds of those who don’t believe. They are unable to see the glorious light of the Good News. They don’t understand this message about the glory of Christ, who is the exact likeness of God.

Ибо проповедуем мы не о себе, а о том, что Христос Иисус — Господь и что мы лишь ваши слуги для Иисуса.

You see, we don’t go around preaching about ourselves. We preach that Jesus Christ is Lord, and we ourselves are your servants for Jesus’ sake.

Ибо это — Тот же Бог, Кто сказал: "Из тьмы воссияет свет", Чей свет воссиял в сердцах наших, чтобы мы познали славу Божью, сияющую в лице Иисуса Христа.

For God, who said, “Let there be light in the darkness,” has made this light shine in our hearts so we could know the glory of God that is seen in the face of Jesus Christ.

Но мы те, кому принадлежит это сокровище, всего лишь глиняные сосуды, чтобы показать, что высшая сила принадлежит Богу, а не нам.

We now have this light shining in our hearts, but we ourselves are like fragile clay jars containing this great treasure.b This makes it clear that our great power is from God, not from ourselves.

Часто нас притесняют, но мы не повержены. Иногда мы впадаем в сомнение, но никогда не поддаёмся отчаянию.

We are pressed on every side by troubles, but we are not crushed. We are perplexed, but not driven to despair.

Нас преследуют, но Бог не покидает нас. По временам мы оказываемся повержены, но не погибаем.

We are hunted down, but never abandoned by God. We get knocked down, but we are not destroyed.

Мы несём в своих телах смерть Иисуса, чтобы и жизнь Его тоже проявлялась в наших телах.

Through suffering, our bodies continue to share in the death of Jesus so that the life of Jesus may also be seen in our bodies.

Нас, тех, кто жив, предают всегда смерти во имя Иисуса, чтобы жизнь Его проявилась через нашу смертную плоть.

Yes, we live under constant danger of death because we serve Jesus, so that the life of Jesus will be evident in our dying bodies.

И таким образом, смерть действует в нас, а жизнь в вас.

So we live in the face of death, but this has resulted in eternal life for you.

Но так как у всех нас одна и та же вера, о которой сказано в Писании: "Я уверовал и потому заговорил", мы также веруем, а потому говорим,

But we continue to preach because we have the same kind of faith the psalmist had when he said, “I believed in God, so I spoke.”c

ибо знаем, что Тот, Кто воскресил Господа Иисуса, воскресит и нас так, как и Иисуса, и мы предстанем вместе с вами перед ликом Его.

We know that God, who raised the Lord Jesus,d will also raise us with Jesus and present us to himself together with you.

Ибо всё это ради вас, ради того, чтобы благодать Божья изливалась на множество людей и приносила ещё больше благодарности и славы Богу.

All of this is for your benefit. And as God’s grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory.

Так не отчаивайтесь же; если мы даже разрушаемся телесно, то внутренне ежедневно обновляемся.

That is why we never give up. Though our bodies are dying, our spirits aree being renewed every day.

Ибо кратковременное страдание приносит нам вечную славу, которая безмерно перевешивает наше страдание.

For our present troubles are small and won’t last very long. Yet they produce for us a glory that vastly outweighs them and will last forever!

Не о том беспокоимся мы, что видимо, а о том, что невидимо, ибо то, что видимо, — преходяще, то же, что невидимо, — вечно.

So we don’t look at the troubles we can see now; rather, we fix our gaze on things that cannot be seen. For the things we see now will soon be gone, but the things we cannot see will last forever.
