And Jehovah said unto me, Though Moses and Samuel stood before me, my soul [would] not [turn] toward this people. Send [them] out of my sight, and let them go forth.

Господь сказал мне: "Иеремия, даже если бы Моисей и Самуил здесь молились за людей Иудеи, Я не испытал бы сочувствия к этим людям. Прогони от Меня людей Иудеи, пусть они уйдут.

And it shall come to pass, if they say unto thee, Whither shall we go forth? then thou shalt tell them, Thus saith Jehovah: Such as are for death, to death; and such as are for the sword, to the sword; and such as are for the famine, to the famine; and such as are for captivity, to captivity.

Может быть, они спросят тебя: "Куда мы идём?" Тогда ответь: вот что сказал Господь: "Кого для смерти выбрал Я, те и умрут; кому Я уготовил меч, те и будут убиты мечом; кого обрёк на голод, те от голода умрут, кого наметил в плен, те в плен и попадут.

For I will visit them with four kinds [of punishments], saith Jehovah: the sword to slay, and dogs to tear, and the fowl of the heavens, and the beasts of the earth, to devour and to destroy.

Четыре наказания на них пошлю Я, — говорит Господь: врага с мечом, чтоб убивать, псов, чтобы их тела тащили, небесных птиц, зверей жестоких, чтобы сожрали их тела.

And I will give them over to be driven hither and thither amongst all the kingdoms of the earth, because of Manasseh the son of Hezekiah, king of Judah, for that which he did in Jerusalem.

Примером страшным для других Я Иудею сделаю за то, что в Иерусалиме сделал Манассий, сын Езекии, Иудейский царь".

For who shall have pity upon thee, Jerusalem? and who shall bemoan thee? and who shall turn aside to ask after thy welfare?

Никто тебя, Иерусалим, не пожалеет, никто не загрустит и не заплачет, не спросит даже — как ты?

Thou hast cast me off, saith Jehovah, thou art gone backward; and I have stretched out my hand against thee, and will destroy thee: I am become weary of repenting.

Меня оставил ты, Иерусалим, — сказал Господь, — в который раз Меня оставил. Я накажу тебя и уничтожу — Я наказание сдерживать устал.

And I will fan them with a fan in the gates of the land; I will bereave of children [and] destroy my people: they have not returned from their ways.

Я вилами Моими разделю народы Иудеи, разбросаю их за воротами земли. Они не изменились, Я их уничтожу, заберу детей их.

Their widows are increased to me more than the sand of the seas; I have brought upon them, against the mother of the young men, a spoiler at noonday; I have caused anguish and terror to fall upon her suddenly.

Мужей утратят многие, и вдов будет больше, чем песка морского. Я в полдень разрушителя пришлю — он нападёт на матерей и юношей внезапно. Я боль и страх посею среди них.

She that hath borne seven languisheth, she hath given up the ghost; her sun is gone down while it is yet day; she is put to shame and confounded. And the residue of them will I give up to the sword before their enemies, saith Jehovah.

Враг нападёт с мечами, он убьёт всех уцелевших в Иудее. Семь сыновей у матери быть может, но все погибнут — мать от слез и горя дыхания лишится, станет чёрным день светлый для неё".

Woe is me, my mother, that thou hast borne me a man of strife and a man of contention to the whole land! I have not lent on usury, nor have they lent to me on usury; [yet] every one of them doth curse me.

"Мать, я жалею, что рожден тобой: я тот, кто должен обвинять всю землю, я в долг не брал, и не давал я в долг, но все меня клянут.

Jehovah said, Verily I will set thee free for [thy] good; verily I will cause the enemy to meet thee kindly in the time of evil and in the time of affliction.

Воистину, Господь, я хорошо Тебе служил. В минуты бед я о врагах моих Тебе молился".

Will iron break? iron from the north? and bronze?

"Ты знаешь, что никто не может разбить железо северное, бронзу никто не может расколоть.

Thy substance and thy treasures will I give to the spoil without price, and that for all thy sins, and in all thy borders;

У Иудеи множество богатств. Я всё отдам другим народам безвозмездно — за грехи во всех пределах Иудеи.

and I will make [them] to pass with thine enemies into a land that thou knowest not: for a fire is kindled in mine anger; it shall burn upon you.

Я сделаю народы Иудеи рабами их врагов в земле, которую они не знали. Велик Мой гнев, он как огонь, в котором будут сожжены они".

Jehovah, thou knowest: remember me, and visit me, and avenge me of my persecutors; in thy long-suffering take me not away: know that for thy sake I bear reproach.

"Господи, Ты меня понимаешь, вспомни обо мне и позаботься, отомсти тем, кто мне приносит боль. Ты к ним был терпелив, но не губи меня. Думай обо мне и о том стыде, который я несу ради Тебя, мой Боже!

Thy words were found, and I did eat them, and thy words were unto me the joy and rejoicing of my heart; for I am called by thy name, O Jehovah, God of hosts.

Весть Твоя пришла ко мне, и я проглотил Твои слова. Счастливым сделали меня слова Твои, ибо счастлив я быть названным Тобою, именем Твоим, Господи, Бог Всемогущий!

I sat not in the assembly of the mockers, nor exulted: I sat alone because of thy hand; for thou hast filled me with indignation.

Я в толпе весёлых и шутливых не был никогда — сидел всегда один. Ты научил меня негодовать и видеть зло вокруг меня.

Why is my pain perpetual, and my wound incurable? It refuseth to be healed. Wilt thou be altogether unto me as a treacherous [spring], [as] waters that fail?

Почему же боль моя ещё при мне, почему не исцелились раны и не исцелятся никогда? Неужели Ты, Господь мой, изменился, и стал подобным пересыхающему ручью?"

Therefore thus saith Jehovah: If thou return, then will I bring thee again, thou shalt stand before me; and if thou take forth the precious from the vile, thou shalt be as my mouth. Let them return unto thee; but return not thou unto them.

Господь сказал: "Иеремия, если изменишься и придёшь ко Мне, Я приму тебя назад, и ты сможешь снова Мне служить; и если будет в твоём слове мудрость, а не глупость, то сможешь говорить от имени Моего. К тебе должны прийти, изменившись, люди Иудеи, но не изменяйся, как они.

And I will make thee unto this people a strong brazen wall; and they shall fight against thee, but they shall not prevail against thee: for I am with thee, to save thee and to deliver thee, saith Jehovah;

Я сильным сделаю тебя — все будут думать, что ты крепок, как бронзовая стена. Люди Иудеи будут против тебя, но не смогут тебя победить, ибо Я с тобой. Я помогу и сохраню тебя". Так говорит Господь.

yea, I will deliver thee out of the hand of the wicked, and I will redeem thee out of the hand of the terrible.

"Я спасу тебя от злых людей, огражу от тех, кого боишься".
