And in the ninth year, in the tenth month, on the tenth of the month, the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

И было ко мне слово Господа в девятом году, в десятом месяце, в десятый день месяца:

Son of man, write thee the name of the day, of this selfsame day: on this selfsame day the king of Babylon draws near to Jerusalem.

«Сын человеческий! Запиши себе имя этого дня, этого самого дня: в этот самый день царь вавилонский подступит к Иерусалиму.

And propose a parable unto the rebellious house, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Set on the pot, set [it] on, and also pour water into it.

И произнеси на мятежный дом притчу, и скажи им — так говорит Господь Бог: „Поставь котел, поставь и налей в него воды;

Gather the pieces thereof into it, every good piece, the thigh and the shoulder; fill [it] with the choice bones:

сложи в него куски мяса — все лучшие куски бедра и плеча — и наполни отборными костями;

take the choice of the flock; and also [put] a pile of wood under it, for the bones; make it boil well, and let the bones of it seethe therein.

отборных овец возьми, и разожги под ним кости, и кипяти до того, чтобы и кости разварились в нем“.

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city, to the pot whose rust is therein, and whose rust is not gone out of it! Bring it out piece by piece; let no lot fall upon it:

Поэтому так говорит Господь Бог: „Горе городу крови! Горе котлу, в котором есть накипь и с которого накипь его не сходит! Кусок за куском его выбрасывайте из него, не выбирая по жребию.

for her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the bare rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust.

Ибо кровь его среди него — он оставил ее на голой скале; не на землю проливал ее, где она могла бы покрыться пылью.

That it might cause fury to come up to execute vengeance, I have set her blood upon the bare rock, that it should not be covered.

Чтобы возбудить гнев для совершения мщения, Я оставил кровь его на голой скале, чтобы она не скрылась“.

Therefore thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Woe to the bloody city! I also will make the pile great.

Поэтому так говорит Господь Бог: „Горе городу крови! И Я разложу большой костер.

Heap on the wood, kindle the fire, boil thoroughly the flesh, and spice it well, and let the bones be burned.

Прибавь дров, разведи огонь, вывари мясо; пусть все сгустится и кости перегорят.

Then set it empty upon its coals, that it may be hot, and the brass of it may burn, and that its filthiness may be molten in it, [and] that its rust may be consumed.

И когда котел будет пуст, поставь его на уголья, чтобы он разгорелся и чтобы медь его раскалилась, и расплавилась в нем нечистота его, и вся накипь его исчезла.

She hath exhausted [her] labours, yet her great rust goeth not forth out of her: let her rust be in the fire.

Труд будет тяжелый, но большая накипь его не сойдет с него, и в огне останется на нем накипь его.

In thy filthiness is lewdness, for I have purged thee, and thou art not pure. Thou shalt no more be purged from thy filthiness, till I have satisfied my fury upon thee.

В нечистоте твоей такая мерзость, что, сколько Я ни чищу тебя, ты все нечист; от нечистоты твоей ты и впредь не очистишься, доколе ярости Моей Я не утолю над тобой.

I Jehovah have spoken [it]: it shall come to pass, and I will do it; I will not go back, neither will I spare, nor will I repent. According to thy ways, and according to thy doings, shall they judge thee, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Я Господь, Я говорю: это придет, и Я сделаю; не отменю, и не пощажу, и не помилую. По путям твоим и по делам твоим будут судить тебя“», — говорит Господь Бог.

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

И было ко мне слово Господа:

Son of man, behold, I take away from thee the desire of thine eyes with a stroke; yet thou shalt not mourn nor weep, neither shall thy tears run down.

«Сын человеческий! Вот, Я возьму у тебя язвой утеху очей твоих, но ты не сетуй и не плачь, и слезы да не выступают у тебя;

Sigh in silence, make no mourning for the dead; bind thy turban upon thee, and put thy sandals upon thy feet, and cover not the beard, and eat not the bread of men.

вздыхай в безмолвии, плача по умершим не совершай, но обвязывай себя повязкой, и обувай ноги твои в обувь твою, и бороды не закрывай, и хлеба от чужих не ешь».

-- And I spoke unto the people in the morning; and at even my wife died. And I did in the morning as I was commanded.

И после того как говорил я поутру слово к народу, вечером умерла жена моя, и на другой день я сделал так, как повелено было мне.

And the people said unto me, Wilt thou not tell us what these things are to us, which thou doest?

И сказал мне народ: «Не скажешь ли нам, какое для нас значение в том, что ты делаешь?»

And I said to them, The word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

И сказал я им: «Ко мне было слово Господа:

Say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Behold, I will profane my sanctuary, the pride of your strength, the desire of your eyes, and your soul's longing; and your sons and your daughters whom ye have left behind shall fall by the sword.

„Скажи дому Израилеву — так говорит Господь Бог: "Вот, Я отдам на поругание святилище Мое, опору силы вашей, утеху очей ваших и отраду души вашей, а сыновья ваши и дочери ваши, которых вы оставили, падут от меча.

And ye shall do as I have done: ye shall not cover the beard, neither eat the bread of men;

И вы будете делать то же, что делал я: бороды не будете закрывать, и хлеба от чужих не будете есть;

and your turbans shall be upon your heads, and your sandals upon your feet: ye shall not mourn nor weep; but ye shall waste away in your iniquities and moan one toward another.

и повязки ваши будут на головах ваших, и обувь ваша на ногах ваших; не будете сетовать и плакать, но будете истаивать от грехов ваших и воздыхать друг перед другом.

Thus Ezekiel shall be unto you a sign; according to all that he hath done shall ye do: when it cometh, then ye shall know that I [am] the Lord Jehovah.

И будет для вас Иезекииль знамением: все, что он делал, и вы будете делать; и когда это сбудется, узнаете, что Я Господь Бог".

And thou, son of man, shall it not be in the day when I take from them their strength, the joy of their glory, the desire of their eyes, and that whereunto they lift up their soul, their sons and their daughters,

А что до тебя, сын человеческий, то в тот день, когда Я возьму у них украшение славы их, утеху очей их и отраду души их, сыновей их и дочерей их, —

that in that day he that escapeth shall come unto thee, to cause [thine] ears to hear [it]?

в тот день придет к тебе спасшийся оттуда, чтобы известить тебя.

In that day shall thy mouth be opened to him that is escaped, and thou shalt speak, and be no more dumb. So shalt thou be a sign unto them; and they shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

В тот день при этом спасшемся откроются уста твои, и ты будешь говорить, и не останешься уже безмолвным, и будешь знамением для них, и узнают, что Я Господь“».
