The words of Amos, who was among the shepherdsa of Tekoa, which he saw concerning Israel in the days of Uzziah king of Judah and in the days of Jeroboam the son of Joash, king of Israel, two yearsb before the earthquake.

Словы Амоса, аднаго пастуха Тэкойскага, якія ён чуў ва ўяве пра Ізраіля ў дні Азіі, цара Юдэйскага і ў дні Ераваама, сына Ёасавага, цара Ізраільскага, за два гады перад землятрусам.

And he said: “The Lord roars from Zion and utters his voice from Jerusalem; the pastures of the shepherds mourn, and the top of Carmel withers.”

І сказаў ён: Гасподзь загрыміць зь Сіёна і дасьць голас Свой зь Ерусаліма, — і заплачуць халупы пастухоў, і высахне вяршыня Карміла.

Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Damascus, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment,c because they have threshed Gilead with threshing sledges of iron.

Так кажа Гасподзь: за тры злачынствы Дамаска і за чатыры не пашкадую яго, бо яны малацілі Галаад жалезнымі цапамі.

So I will send a fire upon the house of Hazael, and it shall devour the strongholds of Ben-hadad.

І пашлю агонь на дом Азаіла, — і зжарэ ён харомы Вэнадада.

I will break the gate-bar of Damascus, and cut off the inhabitants from the Valley of Aven,d and him who holds the scepter from Beth-eden; and the people of Syria shall go into exile to Kir,” says the Lord.

І скрышу замкі Дамаска і зьнішчу жыхароў даліны Авэн і таго, хто трымае жазло — з дому Эдэнавага, і пойдзе народ Арамейскі ў палон у Кір, кажа Гасподзь.

Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Gaza, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they carried into exile a whole people to deliver them up to Edom.

Так кажа Гасподзь: за тры злачынствы Газы і за чатыры не пашкадую яе, бо яны вывелі ўсіх у палон, каб аддаць іх Эдому.

So I will send a fire upon the wall of Gaza, and it shall devour her strongholds.

І пашлю агонь у сьцены Газы, — і зжарэ харомы яе.

I will cut off the inhabitants from Ashdod, and him who holds the scepter from Ashkelon; I will turn my hand against Ekron, and the remnant of the Philistines shall perish,” says the Lord God.

І зьнішчу жыхароў Азота і таго, які трымае жазло ў Аскалоне, і павярну руку Маю на Экрон, — і загіне рэшта Філістымлянаў, кажа Гасподзь Бог.

Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Tyre, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they delivered up a whole people to Edom, and did not remember the covenant of brotherhood.

Так кажа Гасподзь: за тры злачынствы Тыра і за чатыры не пашкадую яго, бо яны аддалі ўсіх палонных Эдому і не згадалі пра братэрскае спрымірэньне.

So I will send a fire upon the wall of Tyre, and it shall devour her strongholds.”

Пашлю агонь у сьцены Тыра, — і зжарэ харомы яго.

Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of Edom, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because he pursued his brother with the sword and cast off all pity, and his anger tore perpetually, and he kept his wrath forever.

Так кажа Гасподзь: за тры злачынствы Эдома і за чатыры не пашкадую яго, бо ён перасьледаваў брата свайго мечам, прыдушыў пачуцьці роднасьці, лютаваў пастаянна ў гневе сваім і заўсёды захоўваў лютасьць сваю.

So I will send a fire upon Teman, and it shall devour the strongholds of Bozrah.”

І пашлю агонь на Тэман, — і зжарэ харомы Васора.

Thus says the Lord: “For three transgressions of the Ammonites, and for four, I will not revoke the punishment, because they have ripped open pregnant women in Gilead, that they might enlarge their border.

Так кажа Гасподзь: за тры злачынствы сыноў Амонавых і за чатыры не пашкадую іх, бо яны расьціналі цяжарных у Галаадзе, каб пашырыць межы свае.

So I will kindle a fire in the wall of Rabbah, and it shall devour her strongholds, with shouting on the day of battle, with a tempest in the day of the whirlwind;

І запалю агонь у сьценах Равы, — і зжарэ харомы яе сярод крыку ў дзень бітвы, зь віхураю ў дзень буры.

and their king shall go into exile, he and his princese together,” says the Lord.

І пойдзе цар іхні ў палон, ён і князі ягоныя разам зь ім, кажа Гасподзь.
