Then the fifth angel sounded, and I saw a star from heaven which had fallen to the earth; and the key of the bottomless pit was given to him.

Пятый ангел вострубил, и я увидел звезду, упавшую с неба на землю, и дан был ей ключ от кладезя бездны.

He opened the bottomless pit, and smoke went up out of the pit, like the smoke of a great furnace; and the sun and the air were darkened by the smoke of the pit.

Она отворила кладезь бездны, и вышел дым из кладезя, как дым из большой печи, — и помрачилось солнце и воздух от дыма из кладезя.

Then out of the smoke came locusts upon the earth, and power was given them, as the scorpions of the earth have power.

И из дыма вышла саранча на землю, и дана была ей власть, какую имеют земные скорпионы.

They were told not to hurt the grass of the earth, nor any green thing, nor any tree, but only the men who do not have the seal of God on their foreheads.

И сказано было ей, чтобы не делала вреда траве земной, и никакой зелени, и никакому дереву, а только одним людям, которые не имеют печати Божией на челах своих.

And they were not permitted to kill anyone, but to torment for five months; and their torment was like the torment of a scorpion when it stings a man.

И дано ей не убивать их, а только мучить пять месяцев; и мучение от нее подобно мучению от скорпиона, когда ужалит человека.

And in those days men will seek death and will not find it; they will long to die, and death flees from them.

В те дни люди будут искать смерти, но не найдут ее; пожелают умереть, но смерть убежит от них.

The appearance of the locusts was like horses prepared for battle; and on their heads appeared to be crowns like gold, and their faces were like the faces of men.

По виду своему саранча была подобна коням, приготовленным на войну; и на головах у нее как бы венцы, похожие на золотые, лица же ее, как лица человеческие;

They had hair like the hair of women, and their teeth were like the teeth of lions.

и волосы у нее, как волосы у женщин, а зубы у нее были как у львов.

They had breastplates like breastplates of iron; and the sound of their wings was like the sound of chariots, of many horses rushing to battle.

На ней была броня, как бы броня железная, а шум от крыльев ее — как стук от колесниц, когда множество коней бежит на войну;

They have tails like scorpions, and stings; and in their tails is their power to hurt men for five months.

у нее были хвосты, как у скорпионов, и в хвостах ее были жала; власть же ее была — вредить людям пять месяцев.

They have as king over them, the angel of the abyss; his name in Hebrew is Abaddon, and in the Greek he has the name Apollyon.

Царем над собой она имела ангела бездны; имя ему по-еврейски Аваддон, а по-гречески Аполлион.

The first woe is past; behold, two woes are still coming after these things.

Одно горе прошло; вот, идут за ним еще два горя.

Then the sixth angel sounded, and I heard a voice from the four horns of the golden altar which is before God,

Шестой ангел вострубил, и я услышал один голос от четырех рогов золотого жертвенника, стоящего пред Богом,

one saying to the sixth angel who had the trumpet, “Release the four angels who are bound at the great river Euphrates.”

говоривший шестому ангелу, имевшему трубу: «Освободи четырех ангелов, связанных при великой реке Евфрат».

And the four angels, who had been prepared for the hour and day and month and year, were released, so that they would kill a third of mankind.

И освобождены были четыре ангела, приготовленные на час, и день, и месяц, и год, для того чтобы умертвить третью часть людей.

The number of the armies of the horsemen was two hundred million; I heard the number of them.

Число конного войска было два мириада мириад; и я слышал число его.

And this is how I saw in the vision the horses and those who sat on them: the riders had breastplates the color of fire and of hyacinth and of brimstone; and the heads of the horses are like the heads of lions; and out of their mouths proceed fire and smoke and brimstone.

Так видел я в видении коней и на них всадников, которые имели на себе броню огненную, гиацинтовую и серную. Головы у коней — как головы у львов, и изо рта их выходил огонь, дым и сера.

A third of mankind was killed by these three plagues, by the fire and the smoke and the brimstone which proceeded out of their mouths.

От этих трех язв: от огня, дыма и серы, выходящих изо рта их, — умерла третья часть людей,

For the power of the horses is in their mouths and in their tails; for their tails are like serpents and have heads, and with them they do harm.

ибо сила коней заключалась в пасти их и в хвостах их; а хвосты их были подобны змеям и имели головы, и ими они вредили.

The rest of mankind, who were not killed by these plagues, did not repent of the works of their hands, so as not to worship demons, and the idols of gold and of silver and of brass and of stone and of wood, which can neither see nor hear nor walk;

Прочие же люди, которые не умерли от этих язв, не раскаялись в делах рук своих, так чтобы не поклоняться бесам и золотым, серебряным, медным, каменным и деревянным идолам, которые не могут ни видеть, ни слышать, ни ходить.

and they did not repent of their murders nor of their sorceries nor of their immorality nor of their thefts.

И не раскаялись они в убийствах своих, ни в чародействах своих, ни в блуде своем, ни в воровстве своем.
