In the second year of Darius the king, in the sixth month, on the first day of the month, came the word of Jehovah by the prophet Haggai unto Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, saying,

Во второ́й год царя́ Да́рия, в шесто́й ме́сяц, в пе́рвый день ме́сяца, бы́ло сло́во Госпо́дне че́рез Агге́я проро́ка к Зорова́велю, сы́ну Салафии́леву, прави́телю Иуде́и, и к Иису́су, сы́ну Иоседе́кову, вели́кому иере́ю:

Thus speaketh Jehovah of hosts, saying, This people say, The time is not come, the time that Jehovah's house should be built.

так сказа́л Госпо́дь Савао́ф: наро́д сей говори́т: «не пришло́ ещё вре́мя, не вре́мя стро́ить дом Госпо́день».

And the word of Jehovah came by Haggai the prophet, saying,

И бы́ло сло́во Госпо́дне че́рез Агге́я проро́ка:

Is it time for you that ye should dwell in your wainscoted houses, while this house lieth waste?

а вам сами́м вре́мя жить в дома́х ва́ших укра́шенных, тогда́ как дом сей в запусте́нии?

And now thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Consider your ways.

Посему́ ны́не так говори́т Госпо́дь Савао́ф: обрати́те се́рдце ва́ше на пути́ ва́ши.

Ye have sown much, and bring in little; ye eat, but are not satisfied; ye drink, but are not filled with drink; ye clothe yourselves, but there is none warm; and he that earneth wages earneth wages for a bag with holes.

Вы се́ете мно́го, а собира́ете ма́ло; еди́те, но не в сы́тость; пьёте, но не напива́етесь; одева́етесь, а не согрева́етесь; зараба́тывающий пла́ту зараба́тывает для дыря́вого кошелька́.

Thus saith Jehovah of hosts: Consider your ways.

Так говори́т Госпо́дь Савао́ф: обрати́те се́рдце ва́ше на пути́ ва́ши.

Go up to the mountain and bring wood, and build the house, and I will take pleasure in it, and I will be glorified, saith Jehovah.

Взойди́те на го́ру и носи́те де́рева, и стро́йте храм; и Я бу́ду благоволи́ть к нему́, и просла́влюсь, говори́т Госпо́дь.

Ye looked for much, and behold it was little; and when ye brought it home, I blew upon it. Wherefore? saith Jehovah of hosts. Because of my house that lieth waste, whilst ye run every man to his own house.

Ожида́ете мно́гого, а выхо́дит ма́ло; и что принесёте домо́й, то Я разве́ю. — За что? говори́т Госпо́дь Савао́ф: за Мой дом, кото́рый в запусте́нии, тогда́ как вы бежи́те ка́ждый к своему́ до́му.

Therefore over you the heavens withhold their dew, and the earth withholdeth its fruit.

Посему́-то не́бо заключи́лось и не даёт вам росы́, и земля́ не даёт свои́х произведе́ний.

And I called for a drought upon the land, and upon the mountains, and upon the corn, and upon the new wine, and upon the oil, and upon that which the ground bringeth forth, and upon man, and upon cattle, and upon all the labour of the hands.

И Я призва́л за́суху на зе́млю, на го́ры, на хлеб, на виногра́дный сок, на еле́й и на всё, что произво́дит земля́, и на челове́ка, и на скот, и на вся́кий ручно́й труд.

And Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and all the remnant of the people, hearkened to the voice of Jehovah their God, and the words of Haggai the prophet, according as Jehovah their God had sent him, and the people feared before Jehovah.

И послу́шались Зорова́вель, сын Салафии́лев, и Иису́с, сын Иоседе́ков, и весь про́чий наро́д гла́са Го́спода Бо́га своего́ и слов Агге́я проро́ка, как по́сланного Го́сподом Бо́гом их, и наро́д убоя́лся Го́спода.

Then spoke Haggai, Jehovah's messenger, in Jehovah's message unto the people, saying, I am with you, saith Jehovah.

Тогда́ Агге́й, ве́стник Госпо́день, по́сланный от Го́спода, сказа́л к наро́ду: Я с ва́ми! говори́т Госпо́дь.

And Jehovah stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked at the house of Jehovah of hosts, their God,

И возбуди́л Госпо́дь дух Зорова́веля, сы́на Салафии́лева, прави́теля Иуде́и, и дух Иису́са, сы́на Иоседе́кова, вели́кого иере́я, и дух всего́ оста́тка наро́да, и они́ пришли́, и ста́ли производи́ть рабо́ты в до́ме Го́спода Савао́фа, Бо́га своего́,

in the four and twentieth day of the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.

в два́дцать четвёртый день шесто́го ме́сяца, во второ́й год царя́ Да́рия.
