And there was a certain man of Ramathaim-zophim, of mount Ephraim, and his name was Elkanah, the son of Jeroham, the son of Elihu, the son of Tohu, the son of Zuph, an Ephrathite.

Был оди́н челове́к из Рамафаи́м-Цофи́ма, с горы́ Ефре́мовой, и́мя ему́ Елка́на, сын Иероха́ма, сы́на И́лия, сы́на То́ху, сы́на Цу́фа, — Ефрафя́нин;

And he had two wives: the name of the one was Hannah, and the name of the other Peninnah; and Peninnah had children, but Hannah had no children.

у него́ бы́ли две жены́: и́мя одно́й А́нна, а и́мя друго́й Фенна́на; у Фенна́ны бы́ли де́ти, у А́нны же не́ бы́ло дете́й.

And this man went up out of his city from year to year to worship and to sacrifice to Jehovah of hosts in Shiloh. And the two sons of Eli, Hophni and Phinehas, the priests of Jehovah, were there.

И ходи́л э́тот челове́к из го́рода своего́ в поло́женные дни поклоня́ться и приноси́ть же́ртву Го́споду Савао́фу в Сило́м; там бы́ли И́лий и два сы́на его́, О́фни и Финее́с, свяще́нниками Го́спода.

And it came to pass on the day that Elkanah sacrificed, he gave to Peninnah his wife and to all her sons and her daughters portions;

В тот день, когда́ Елка́на приноси́л же́ртву, дава́л Фенна́не, жене́ свое́й, и всем сыновья́м её и дочеря́м её ча́сти;

but to Hannah he used to give a double portion, for he loved Hannah; but Jehovah had shut up her womb.

А́нне же дава́л часть осо́бую, и́бо люби́л А́нну, хотя́ Госпо́дь заключи́л чре́во её.

And her adversary provoked her much also, to make her fret, because Jehovah had shut up her womb.

Сопе́рница её си́льно огорча́ла её, побужда́я её к ро́поту на то, что Госпо́дь заключи́л чре́во её.

And [as] he did so year by year, as often as she went up to the house of Jehovah, she provoked her thus; and she wept and did not eat.

Так быва́ло ка́ждый год, когда́ ходи́ла она́ в дом Госпо́день; та огорча́ла её, а э́та пла́кала и не е́ла.

And Elkanah her husband said to her, Hannah, why weepest thou? and why eatest thou not? and why is thy heart grieved? Am not I better to thee than ten sons?

И сказа́л ей Елка́на, муж её: А́нна! что ты пла́чешь и почему́ не ешь, и отчего́ скорби́т се́рдце твоё? не лу́чше ли я для тебя́ десяти́ сынове́й?

And Hannah rose up after they had eaten in Shiloh, and after they had drunk; (now Eli the priest sat upon the seat by the door-post of the temple of Jehovah;)

И вста́ла А́нна по́сле того́, как они́ е́ли и пи́ли в Сило́ме. И́лий же свяще́нник сиде́л тогда́ на седа́лище у вхо́да в храм Госпо́день.

and she was in bitterness of soul, and prayed to Jehovah, and wept much.

И была́ она́ в ско́рби души́, и моли́лась Го́споду, и го́рько пла́кала,

And she vowed a vow, and said, O Jehovah of hosts, if thou wilt indeed look on the affliction of thy handmaid, and remember me, and not forget thy handmaid, but wilt give unto thy handmaid a man child, then I will give him to Jehovah all the days of his life, and there shall no razor come upon his head.

и дала́ обе́т, говоря́: Го́споди Савао́ф! е́сли Ты призри́шь на скорбь рабы́ Твое́й и вспо́мнишь обо мне́, и не забу́дешь рабы́ Твое́й и дашь рабе́ Твое́й дитя́ му́жеского по́ла, то я отда́м его́ Го́споду на все дни жи́зни его́, и бри́тва не коснётся головы́ его́.

And it came to pass as she continued praying before Jehovah, that Eli marked her mouth.

Ме́жду те́м как она́ до́лго моли́лась пред Го́сподом, И́лий смотре́л на уста́ её;

Now Hannah spoke in her heart; only her lips moved, but her voice was not heard; and Eli thought she was drunken.

и как А́нна говори́ла в се́рдце своём, а уста́ её то́лько дви́гались, и не́ бы́ло слы́шно го́лоса её, то И́лий счёл её пья́ною.

And Eli said to her, How long wilt thou be drunken? put away thy wine from thee.

И сказа́л ей И́лий: доко́ле ты бу́дешь пья́ною? вы́трезвись от вина́ твоего́.

And Hannah answered and said, No, my lord, I am a woman of a sorrowful spirit: I have drunk neither wine nor strong drink, but have poured out my soul before Jehovah.

И отвеча́ла А́нна, и сказа́ла: нет, господи́н мой; я — жена́, скорбя́щая ду́хом, вина́ и сике́ра я не пила́, но излива́ю ду́шу мою́ пред Го́сподом;

Take not thy handmaid for a daughter of Belial: for out of the abundance of my grief and provocation have I spoken hitherto.

не счита́й рабы́ твое́й него́дною же́нщиною, и́бо от вели́кой печа́ли мое́й и от ско́рби мое́й я говори́ла досе́ле.

And Eli answered and said, Go in peace; and the God of Israel grant thee thy petition which thou hast asked of him.

И отвеча́л И́лий, и сказа́л: иди́ с ми́ром, и Бог Изра́илев испо́лнит проше́ние твоё, чего́ ты проси́ла у Него́.

And she said, Let thy bondwoman find grace in thy sight. And the woman went her way, and did eat, and her countenance was no more [as before].

Она́ же сказа́ла: да найдёт раба́ твоя́ ми́лость в оча́х твои́х! И пошла́ она́ в путь свой, и е́ла, и лицо́ её не́ бы́ло уже́ печа́льно, как пре́жде.

And they rose up early in the morning and worshipped before Jehovah, and returned and came to their house at Ramah. And Elkanah knew Hannah his wife; and Jehovah remembered her.

И вста́ли они́ поутру́, и поклони́лись пред Го́сподом, и возврати́лись, и пришли́ в дом свой в Ра́му. И позна́л Елка́на А́нну, жену́ свою́, и вспо́мнил о ней Госпо́дь.

And it came to pass when the time was come about after Hannah had conceived, that she bore a son, and called his name Samuel, [saying,] Because I have asked him of Jehovah.

Че́рез не́сколько вре́мени зачала́ А́нна и родила́ сы́на и дала́ ему́ и́мя: Самуи́л, и́бо, говори́ла она́, от Го́спода я испроси́ла его́.

And Elkanah her husband, and all his house, went up to sacrifice to Jehovah the yearly sacrifice and his vow.

И пошёл муж её Елка́на и всё семе́йство его́ соверши́ть годи́чную же́ртву Го́споду и обе́ты свои́.

But Hannah did not go up, for she said to her husband, [I will wait] until the child is weaned; then will I bring him, that he may appear before Jehovah, and there abide for ever.

А́нна же не пошла́, сказа́в му́жу своему́: когда́ младе́нец отня́т бу́дет от груди́ и подрастёт, тогда́ я отведу́ его́, и он я́вится пред Го́сподом и оста́нется там навсегда́.

And Elkanah her husband said to her, Do what is good in thy sight: abide until thou hast weaned him; only, may Jehovah fulfil his word. And the woman abode, and gave her son suck until she weaned him.

И сказа́л ей Елка́на, муж её: де́лай, что тебе́ уго́дно; остава́йся, доко́ле не вско́рмишь его́ гру́дью; то́лько да утверди́т Госпо́дь сло́во, вы́шедшее из уст твои́х. И оста́лась жена́ его́, и корми́ла гру́дью сы́на своего́, доко́ле не вскорми́ла.

And she took him up with her when she had weaned him, with three bullocks, and one ephah of flour, and a flask of wine, and brought him to the house of Jehovah to Shiloh; and the boy was young.

Когда́ же вскорми́ла его́, пошла́ с ним в Сило́м, взяв три тельца́, и одну́ е́фу муки́ и мех вина́, и пришла́ в дом Го́спода в Сило́м, о́трок же был ещё дитя́.

And they slaughtered the bullock, and brought the boy to Eli.

и заколо́ли тельца́; и привела́ о́трока к И́лию

And she said, Oh my lord, [as] thy soul liveth, my lord, I am the woman that stood by thee here to pray to Jehovah.

и сказа́ла: о, господи́н мой! да живёт душа́ твоя́, господи́н мой! я — та са́мая же́нщина, кото́рая здесь при тебе́ стоя́ла и моли́лась Го́споду;

For this boy I prayed; and Jehovah has granted me my petition which I asked of him.

о сём дитя́ти моли́лась я, и испо́лнил мне Госпо́дь проше́ние моё, чего́ я проси́ла у Него́;

And also I have lent him to Jehovah: all the days that he lives, he is lent to Jehovah. And he worshipped Jehovah there.

и я отдаю́ его́ Го́споду на все дни жи́зни его́, служи́ть Го́споду. И поклони́лась там Го́споду.
