Не радуйся, Израиль! Не восторгайся, как другие народы! Ты отвернулся от Бога своего и стал, как блудница. Ты любишь блудодействовать на каждом гумне.

Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.

Но зерно с этих токов не прокормит Израиль. Не получит он и вина в избытке.

The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.

Израильтяне не останутся на земле Господа. Ефрем вернётся в Египет. Они будут есть в Ассирии нечистую пищу, которую есть не следует.

They shall not dwell in the LORD'S land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.

Не будут израильтяне возливать вино на алтарь Господа. Они не будут возлагать Ему жертвоприношения. Хлеб от скорбящих не может быть жертвоприношением, ибо он оскверняет людей. Их хлеб не придёт в храм Божий, так как его едва хватит им самим на пропитание.

They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.

Израильтяне не смогут праздновать и отмечать праздники Господни.

What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?

Израиль будет полностью уничтожен. Египет подберёт его останки, а Мемфис их похоронит. Сокровища их из серебра порастут сорняками, а шатры их зарастут шипами.

For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.

Пророк говорит: "Израиль, пойми, пришло время расплаты. Настало время тебе заплатить за зло, которое ты совершил". Но народ Израиля говорит: "Глуп пророк, выдающий себя за вдохновенного духом Божьим, безумен из-за беззаконий твоих и враждебности". Пророк говорит: "Вы будете наказаны за беззакония ваши и враждебность".

The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.

Бог и пророки — стражи Ефрема, но на пути его много капканов. Люди ненавидят пророка даже в доме Господа его.

The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.

Израильтяне глубоко погрязли в подкупе, как во времена Гивы. Бог вспомнит их нечестивость и накажет их за грехи.

They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.

Когда Я нашёл Израиль, он был для Меня, как виноград в пустыне, а предки твои были, как первый инжир. Но они пришли в Ваалфегору и посвятили себя Ваалу; и сами стали мерзкими, как идолы, которых они возлюбили.

I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.

И упорхнёт слава ефремлян, как птица. Не будет ни зачатия, ни беременности, ни родов.

As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.

А если им и удастся воспитать своих детей, Я отниму их прежде, чем успеют они вырасти. Я покину их, и останутся у них одни несчастья.

Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!

Я вижу, как Ефрем заводит своих детей в ловушку к убийце.

Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.

Господи, дай им то, что Ты желаешь. Дай им утробу, неспособную родить детей, и грудь, в которой нет молока.

Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

Всё их зло — в Галгале, Я возненавидел их там. Я заставлю их покинуть мой дом за их злые дела. Я не буду любить их более. Их предводители — отступники.

All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.

Ефрем будет наказан. Иссох корень их, и не будет у них больше потомства. А если они и родят, Я умерщвлю их ненаглядных детей.

Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.

Эти люди не будут слушать моего Бога, и Он отвергнет их. И они будут бродить между народами, не имея дома.

My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
