Не радуйся, Израиль! Не восторгайся, как другие народы! Ты стал подобен блуднице и покинул Бога, ты блудодействовал на каждом току.

Rejoice not, O Israel, for joy, as other people: for thou hast gone a whoring from thy God, thou hast loved a reward upon every cornfloor.

Но зерно с этих токов не прокормит Израиль, не получит он вина в избытке.

The floor and the winepress shall not feed them, and the new wine shall fail in her.

Израильтяне не останутся жить на земле Господней, они вернутся в Египет. Некоторые из них отправятся в Ассирию и будут есть там нечистую пищу, которую не следует есть.

They shall not dwell in the LORD'S land; but Ephraim shall return to Egypt, and they shall eat unclean things in Assyria.

Не будут израильтяне возливать вино на алтарь Господа, а их жертвоприношения не по нраву будут Ему. Все их приношения будут подобны тем яствам, которые едят во время похоронных застолий и которые оскверняют людей. Эта еда пригодна для утоления голода, но в храме Господа не место ей.

They shall not offer wine offerings to the LORD, neither shall they be pleasing unto him: their sacrifices shall be unto them as the bread of mourners; all that eat thereof shall be polluted: for their bread for their soul shall not come into the house of the LORD.

Израильтяне не смогут отмечать праздники и торжества Господние.

What will ye do in the solemn day, and in the day of the feast of the LORD?

Даже если Израиль избежит этого уничтожения, то Египет захватит его в плен, а Мемфис похоронит его. Их сокровища из серебра порастут сорняками, а земли, в которых жили израильтяне, терновником зарастут.

For, lo, they are gone because of destruction: Egypt shall gather them up, Memphis shall bury them: the pleasant places for their silver, nettles shall possess them: thorns shall be in their tabernacles.

Пророк говорит: «Израиль, пойми, время наказания пришло. Настало время тебе заплатить за зло, которое ты совершил». Но народ Израиля говорит: «Глуп пророк, безумен вдохновенный Духом Божьим». Пророк отвечает: «Вы будете наказаны за ваши мерзкие грехи и враждебность».

The days of visitation are come, the days of recompence are come; Israel shall know it: the prophet is a fool, the spiritual man is mad, for the multitude of thine iniquity, and the great hatred.

Бог и пророк словно стражи Ефрема, но его на пути много капканов. Люди ненавидят пророка даже в доме Господа его.

The watchman of Ephraim was with my God: but the prophet is a snare of a fowler in all his ways, and hatred in the house of his God.

Израильтяне глубоко погрязли в грехе, как во времена Гивы. Бог вспомнит их нечестивость и накажет их за грехи.

They have deeply corrupted themselves, as in the days of Gibeah: therefore he will remember their iniquity, he will visit their sins.

Когда Я нашёл Израиль, он был для Меня как виноград в пустыне, а твои предки были как первые фиги. Но они пришли в Ваал-Фегор и посвятили себя Ваалу, и сами стали мерзкими, как идолы, которых возлюбили они.

I found Israel like grapes in the wilderness; I saw your fathers as the firstripe in the fig tree at her first time: but they went to Baalpeor, and separated themselves unto that shame; and their abominations were according as they loved.

«И упорхнёт слава ефремлян как птица. У них больше не будет ни зачатия, ни беременности, ни родов.

As for Ephraim, their glory shall fly away like a bird, from the birth, and from the womb, and from the conception.

А если даже им и удастся воспитать своих детей, то Я отниму их, а затем покину их, и только несчастья будут сопутствовать им».

Though they bring up their children, yet will I bereave them, that there shall not be a man left: yea, woe also to them when I depart from them!

Я вижу, как народ Ефрема заводит своих детей в ловушку к убийце.

Ephraim, as I saw Tyrus, is planted in a pleasant place: but Ephraim shall bring forth his children to the murderer.

Господи, дай им то, что Ты желаешь, дай им утробу, неспособную родить детей, и грудь, в которой нет молока.

Give them, O LORD: what wilt thou give? give them a miscarrying womb and dry breasts.

Всё их зло в Галгале, Я возненавидел их там. Я заставлю их покинуть Мой дом за их злые дела, Я больше не буду их любить. Их мятежные вожди восстали против Меня.

All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.

Народ Ефрема будет наказан, иссох его корень, и не будет больше потомства у него. И даже если его женщины смогут родить, Я умерщвлю их ненаглядных детей.

Ephraim is smitten, their root is dried up, they shall bear no fruit: yea, though they bring forth, yet will I slay even the beloved fruit of their womb.

Эти люди не будут слушать моего Бога, и Он отвергнет их. Они будут бродить между народами, не имея дома.

My God will cast them away, because they did not hearken unto him: and they shall be wanderers among the nations.
