У восьмым месяцы, у другі год Дарыя, было слова Гасподняе Захарыю, сыну Варахіінаваму, сыну Адаваму, прароку:

In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

угневаўся Гасподзь на бацькоў вашых вялікім гневам,

“The Lord has been very angry with your fathers.

і ты скажы ім: так кажа Гасподзь Саваоф: павярнецеся да Мяне, кажа Гасподзь Саваоф, і Я павярнуся да вас, кажа Гасподзь Саваоф.

Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.

Ня будзьце такія, як бацькі вашыя, да якіх заклікалі ранейшыя прарокі, кажучы: так кажа Гасподзь Саваоф: адвярнецеся ад ліхіх шляхоў вашых і ад ліхіх дзеяў вашых; але яны ня слухаліся і не ўважалі Мне, кажа Гасподзь.

“Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the Lord.

Бацькі вашыя — дзе яны? ды і прарокі, ці будуць яны вечна жыць?

“Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?

Але словы Мае і вызначэньні Мае, якія наказваў Я рабам Маім прарокам, хіба ж не спасьціглі бацькоў вашых? і яны зьвярталіся і казалі: як вызначыў Гасподзь Саваоф зрабіць з намі паводле нашых шляхоў і паводле нашых дзеяў, так і ўчыніў з намі.

Yet surely My words and My statutes, Which I commanded My servants the prophets, Did they not overtake your fathers? “So they returned and said: ‘Just as the Lord of hosts determined to do to us, According to our ways and according to our deeds, So He has dealt with us.’ ” ’ ”

У дваццаць чацьвёрты дзень адзінаццатага месяца, — гэта месяц Шэват, — у другі год Дарыя, было слова Гасподняе Захарыю, сыну Варахіінаваму, сыну Адаваму, прароку:

On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet:

уначы бачыў я ўяву: вось, муж на рыжым кані стаіць паміж міртамі, якія ў паглыбленьні, а за імі коні рыжыя, пярэстыя і белыя,

I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white.

і сказаў я: хто яны, спадару мой? І сказаў мне анёл, які гаварыў са мною: я пакажу табе, хто яны.

Then I said, “My lord, what are these?” So the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what they are.”

І адказваў муж, які стаяў паміж міртамі, і сказаў: гэта тыя, якіх Гасподзь паслаў абысьці зямлю.

And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, “These are the ones whom the Lord has sent to walk to and fro throughout the earth.”

І яны адказвалі анёлу Гасподняму, які стаяў паміж міртамі, і сказалі: абышлі мы зямлю, і вось, уся зямля населеная і спакойная.

So they answered the Angel of the Lord, who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, “We have walked to and fro throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is [a]resting quietly.”

І адказваў анёл Гасподні і сказаў: Госпадзе Ўсеўладца! Дакуль Ты не ўмілажалішся зь Ерусаліма і з гарадоў Юды, на якія Ты гневаешся вось ужо семдзесят гадоў?

Then the Angel of the Lord answered and said, “O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?”

Тады ў адказ анёлу, які гаварыў са мною, мовіў Гасподзь словы добрыя, словы суцешлівыя.

And the Lord answered the angel who talked to me, with good and comforting words.

І сказаў Мне анёл, які гаварыў са мною: абвясьці і скажы: так кажа Гасподзь Саваоф: парупіўся Я за Ерусалім і за Сіён рупнасьцю вялікай:

So the angel who spoke with me said to me, [b]“Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “I am zealous[c] for Jerusalem And for Zion with great [d]zeal.

І вялікім абурэньнем абураюся з народаў, якія жывуць у спакоі; бо калі Я мала ўгневаўся, яны павялічылі ліха.

I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; For I was a little angry, And they helped — but with evil intent.”

таму так кажа Гасподзь: Я зьвяртаюся да Ерусаліма зь мілажалем; у ім пабудуецца дом Мой, кажа Гасподзь Саваоф, і землямерная вяроўка працягнецца па Ерусаліме.

‘Therefore thus says the Lord: “I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it,” says the Lord of hosts, “And a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.” ’

Яшчэ абвясьці і скажы: так кажа Гасподзь Саваоф: зноў перапаўняюцца гарады Мае дабром, і суцешыць Гасподзь Сіён і зноў выбера Ерусалім.

“Again proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “My cities shall again [e]spread out through prosperity; The Lord will again comfort Zion, And will again choose Jerusalem.” ’ ”

І ўзьвёў я вочы мае і ўгледзеў: вось чатыры рагі.

Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there were four horns.

І сказаў я анёлу, які гаварыў са мною: што гэта? І ён адказаў мне: гэта рогі, якія раскідалі Юду, Ізраіля і Ерусалім.

And I said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these?” So he answered me, “These are the [f]horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”

Потым паказаў мне Гасподзь чатырох працаўнікоў.

Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen.

І сказаў я: што яны ідуць рабіць? Ён сказаў мне так: гэтыя рогі раскідалі Юду, так што ніхто ня можа падняць галавы сваёй: а гэтыя прыйшлі напалохаць іх, зьбіць рогі народаў, якія паднялі рог свой супроць зямлі Юды, каб расьсеяць яе.

And I said, “What are these coming to do?” So he said, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but [g]the craftsmen are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.”
