У восьмы месяц на другі год Дарыя прамовіў Госпад да прарока Захарыі, сына Барахіі, сына Адо, кажучы:

In the eighth month of the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet, saying,

«Загневаўся вельмі Госпад на бацькоў вашых.

“The Lord has been very angry with your fathers.

Ды скажы ім: гэта кажа Госпад Магуццяў: “Звярніцеся да Мяне, — кажа Госпад Магуццяў. —

Therefore say to them, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Return to Me,” says the Lord of hosts, “and I will return to you,” says the Lord of hosts.

Не будзьце, як бацькі вашы, якіх заклікалі даўнейшыя прарокі і казалі: “Пакіньце шляхі вашы ліхія і намеры вашы благія, — гэта кажа Госпад Магуццяў”; і яны не паслухалі і не звярнулі ўвагі на Мяне, — кажа Госпад. —

“Do not be like your fathers, to whom the former prophets preached, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “Turn now from your evil ways and your evil deeds.” ’ But they did not hear nor heed Me,” says the Lord.

Дзе цяпер бацькі вашы? Ды ці ж прарокі жывуць вечна?”

“Your fathers, where are they? And the prophets, do they live forever?

А ўсё ж такі ці ж словы Мае і загады Мае, якія даручыў Я слугам Маім, прарокам, ці ж не закранулі яны бацькоў вашых? І яны навярнуліся і казалі: “Як маніўся Госпад Магуццяў зрабіць з намі адносна паводзін нашых і ліхоццяў нашых — так і зрабіў з намі”».

Yet surely My words and My statutes, Which I commanded My servants the prophets, Did they not overtake your fathers? “So they returned and said: ‘Just as the Lord of hosts determined to do to us, According to our ways and according to our deeds, So He has dealt with us.’ ” ’ ”

У дваццаць чацвёрты дзень адзінаццатага месяца, гэта значыць месяца Тэбэт, у другі год Дарыя Госпад прамовіў да прарока Захарыі, сына Барахіі, сына Адо, кажучы:

On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, which is the month Shebat, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah the son of Berechiah, the son of Iddo the prophet:

«Бачанне меў я ноччу: і вось, коннік на рыжым кані стаяў сярод міртаў у лагчыне; і за ім коні рыжыя, рабыя і белыя.

I saw by night, and behold, a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees in the hollow; and behind him were horses: red, sorrel, and white.

І я запытаўся: “Што значаць яны, гаспадару мой?” І анёл загаварыў са мной, і сказаў мне: “Я растлумачу табе, што яны азначаюць”.

Then I said, “My lord, what are these?” So the angel who talked with me said to me, “I will show you what they are.”

І сказаў коннік, які стаяў сярод міртаў, гэтыя словы: “Гэта, вось, тыя, каго Госпад паслаў абысці зямлю”.

And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, “These are the ones whom the Lord has sent to walk to and fro throughout the earth.”

І яны адказалі анёлу Госпадаваму, які стаяў сярод міртаў, і паведамілі: “Абышлі мы зямлю, і вось, уся зямля абжытая і жыве спакойна”.

So they answered the Angel of the Lord, who stood among the myrtle trees, and said, “We have walked to and fro throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is [a]resting quietly.”

І сказаў анёл Госпадаў гэтыя словы: “Госпадзе Магуццяў, як доўга яшчэ Ты не злітуешся над Ерузалімам і гарадамі Юды, на якія загневаўся? Гэта сямідзесяты год”.

Then the Angel of the Lord answered and said, “O Lord of hosts, how long will You not have mercy on Jerusalem and on the cities of Judah, against which You were angry these seventy years?”

Ды адказаў Госпад анёлу, які гаварыў да мяне, словамі добрымі, словамі суцяшальнымі.

And the Lord answered the angel who talked to me, with good and comforting words.

І анёл, які гаварыў да мяне, сказаў: “Абвясці: вось што кажа Госпад Магуццяў: “Любоў апякуючая ў Мяне да Ерузаліма і Сіёна з вялікай руплівасцю,

So the angel who spoke with me said to me, [b]“Proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “I am zealous[c] for Jerusalem And for Zion with great [d]zeal.

але вялікім гневам Я гневаюся на пыхлівыя народы, бо Я крыху загневаўся, а яны павялічылі ліха”.

I am exceedingly angry with the nations at ease; For I was a little angry, And they helped — but with evil intent.”

Таму вось што кажа Госпад: “Вяртаюся ў Ерузалім з міласэрнасцю. У ім будзе пабудаваны Мой дом, — кажа Госпад Магуццяў, — і грунтвага пройдзе над Ерузалімам”.

‘Therefore thus says the Lord: “I am returning to Jerusalem with mercy; My house shall be built in it,” says the Lord of hosts, “And a surveyor’s line shall be stretched out over Jerusalem.” ’

Ды яшчэ абвяшчай: гэта кажа Госпад Магуццяў: “Зноў перапоўняцца гарады мае маёмасцю, і зноў пацешыць Госпад Сіён, і зноў абярэ Ерузалім”».

“Again proclaim, saying, ‘Thus says the Lord of hosts: “My cities shall again [e]spread out through prosperity; The Lord will again comfort Zion, And will again choose Jerusalem.” ’ ”

І зноў падняў я вочы свае і ўбачыў: і вось, чатыры рогі;

Then I raised my eyes and looked, and there were four horns.

і запытаўся я ў анёла, які гаварыў да мяне: «Што гэта?» І ён сказаў мне: «Гэта рогі, якія паразганялі Юду, і Ізраэль, і Ерузалім».

And I said to the angel who talked with me, “What are these?” So he answered me, “These are the [f]horns that have scattered Judah, Israel, and Jerusalem.”

І паказаў мне Госпад чатырох рамеснікаў;

Then the Lord showed me four craftsmen.

і я запытаўся: «Што яны маюць рабіць?» Адказаў ён, кажучы: «Гэта рогі, якія паразганялі Юду, паасобна кожнага чалавека, каб ніводзін з іх не мог падняць галавы сваёй; а яны прыйшлі настрашыць іх, каб збіць рогі народаў, якія паднялі рог супраць зямлі Юды, каб расцярушыць яе».

And I said, “What are these coming to do?” So he said, “These are the horns that scattered Judah, so that no one could lift up his head; but [g]the craftsmen are coming to terrify them, to cast out the horns of the nations that lifted up their horn against the land of Judah to scatter it.”
