На пачатку было Слова, і Слова было ў Бога, і Богам было Слова.

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Яно было на пачатку ў Бога.

He was in the beginning with God.

Усё праз Яго сталася, і без Яго не сталася нічога з таго, што сталася;

All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made.

у Ім было жыццё, і жыццё было святлом людзей,

In Him was life, and the life was the light of men.

і святло ў цемры свеціць, і цемра не агарнула яго.

And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not [a]comprehend it.

Быў чалавек, пасланы Богам, якому імя было Ян;

There was a man sent from God, whose name was John.

ён прыйшоў на сведчанне, каб прадставіць сведчанне аб Святле, каб усе паверылі праз яго.

This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe.

Не быў ён святлом, але [прыйшоў,] каб прадставіць сведчанне аб Святле.

He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light.

Было праўдзівае Святло, Якое асвятляе кожнага чалавека, што прыходзіць у свет.

That[b] was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world.

Яно было ў свеце, і свет праз Яго стаўся, і свет Яго не пазнаў.

He was in the world, and the world was made through Him, and the world did not know Him.

Прыйшло Яно да сваіх, і свае Яго не прынялі.

He came to His [c]own, and His [d]own did not receive Him.

А тым, якія Яго прынялі, дало магутнасць стацца сынамі Божымі, тым, што вераць у імя Яго,

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the [e]right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:

якія не з крыві, ані з жадання цела, ані з жадання мужа, але з Бога нарадзіліся.

who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

І Слова сталася целам, і пасялілася між намі, і мы бачылі славу Яго, славу як Адзінароднага ад Айца, — поўнае ласкі і праўды.

And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth.

Ян дае сведчанне аб Ім і заклікае, кажучы: «Гэта быў Той, пра Якога я сказаў: Які па мне мае прыйсці, перада мною стаў, бо перш за мяне быў».

John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, “This was He of whom I said, ‘He who comes after me [f]is preferred before me, for He was before me.’ ”

І з паўнаты Яго ўсе мы ўзялі, і ласку за ласку;

[g]And of His fullness we have all received, and grace for grace.

бо закон быў дадзены праз Майсея, а ласка і праўда сталіся праз Ісуса Хрыста.

For the law was given through Moses, but grace and truth came through Jesus Christ.

Бога ніхто ніколі не бачыў; Адзінародны Сын, Які ва ўлонні Айца, Ён Сам з’явіў.

No one has seen God at any time. The only begotten [h]Son, who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.

І вось сведчанне Яна, калі юдэі з Ерузаліма паслалі да яго святароў і левітаў, каб у яго спыталіся: «Хто ты?»

Now this is the testimony of John, when the Jews sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”

І прызнаўся, і не запярэчыў; і прызнаўся: «Я не Хрыстос».

He confessed, and did not deny, but confessed, “I am not the Christ.”

Дык пыталіся ў яго: «Дык што? Ты мо Ілля?» І кажа: «Не». «Дык ты прарок?» І адказвае: «Не».

And they asked him, “What then? Are you Elijah?” He said, “I am not.” “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”

Дык сказалі яны яму: «Хто ж ты, каб мы маглі даць адказ тым, што нас паслалі. Што ты кажаш сам пра сябе?»

Then they said to him, “Who are you, that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?”

Ён гаворыць: «Я — голас лямантуючага ў пустыні: “Рыхтуйце дарогу Госпаду”, як сказаў прарок Ісая».

He said: “I am ‘The voice of one crying in the wilderness: “Make straight the way of the Lord,” ’ as the prophet Isaiah said.”

А пасланцы былі з фарысеяў,

Now those who were sent were from the Pharisees.

і сказалі яму: «Чаму тады хрысціш, калі ты не Хрыстос, не Ілля, ані прарок?»

And they asked him, saying, “Why then do you baptize if you are not the Christ, nor Elijah, nor the Prophet?”

Адказаў ім Ян, кажучы: «Я хрышчу вадою; але пасярод вас паўстаў Той, Каго вы не ведаеце,

John answered them, saying, “I baptize with water, but there stands One among you whom you do not know.

Які па мне ідзе, але наперадзе мяне быў, Якому я не варты развязаць рамень пасталоў Яго».

It is He who, coming after me, [i]is preferred before me, whose sandal strap I am not worthy to loose.”

Гэта адбылося ў Бэтаніі за Ярданам, дзе Ян хрысціў.

These things were done in [j]Bethabara beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.

Назаўтра ўбачыў Ян Ісуса, што ішоў да яго, і гаворыць: «Вось, Ягня Божае, Той, Хто бярэ на Сябе грэх свету.

The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Гэта Той, пра Якога я сказаў: пасля мяне прыходзіць Чалавек, Які стаў перада мной, бо быў раней за мяне.

This is He of whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man who [k]is preferred before me, for He was before me.’

І я не ведаў Яго, але дзеля таго прыйшоў я, хрысцячы вадой, каб мог Ён аб’явіцца Ізраэлю».

I did not know Him; but that He should be revealed to Israel, therefore I came baptizing with water.”

І прадставіў Ян сведчанне, кажучы: «Бачыў я Духа, што сыходзіў з неба, як голуб, і Ён застаўся на Ім;

And John bore witness, saying, “I saw the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.

і я Яго не ведаў, але Той, Хто мяне паслаў хрысціць вадою, сказаў мне: “На Каго ўбачыш, што Дух сыходзіць і застаецца на Ім, гэта Той, Хто хрысціць Духам Святым”.

I did not know Him, but He who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on Him, this is He who baptizes with the Holy Spirit.’

І гэта я сам бачыў і сведчу, што Ён — Сын Божы».

And I have seen and testified that this is the Son of God.”

На другі дзень зноў стаяў Ян і два вучні яго,

Again, the next day, John stood with two of his disciples.

і, зірнуўшы на Ісуса, Які праходзіў міма, Ян кажа: «Вось Ягня Божае».

And looking at Jesus as He walked, he said, “Behold the Lamb of God!”

Дык пачулі Яго два вучні, як ён гэта казаў, і пайшлі за Ісусам.

The two disciples heard him speak, and they followed Jesus.

Ісус, павярнуўшыся і ўбачыўшы, што яны ідуць, кажа ім: «Што шукаеце?» Яны сказалі Яму: «Рабі, — што ў перакладзе значыць Настаўнік, — дзе жывеш?»

Then Jesus turned, and seeing them following, said to them, “What do you seek?” They said to Him, “Rabbi” (which is to say, when translated, Teacher), “where are You staying?”

Кажа ім: «Ідзіце і ўбачыце». Дык пайшлі і ўбачылі, дзе жыў, і засталіся той дзень з Ім, а было блізу гадзіны дзясятай.

He said to them, “Come and see.” They came and saw where He was staying, and remained with Him that day (now it was about the tenth hour).

А адным з двух, што пачулі ад Яна і пайшлі за Ім, быў Андрэй, брат Сімона Пётры.

One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.

Ён знаходзіць перш брата свайго Сімона і кажа яму: «Знайшлі мы Месію», што значыць — Хрыста,

He first found his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the [l]Messiah” (which is translated, the Christ).

і прывёў яго да Ісуса. А Ісус, глянуўшы на яго, сказаў: «Ты Сімон, сын Ёны; будзеш называцца Кіфа, што значыць Пётра».

And he brought him to Jesus. Now when Jesus looked at him, He said, “You are Simon the son of [m]Jonah. You shall be called Cephas” (which is translated, [n]A Stone).

Назаўтра Ісус маніўся ісці ў Галілею ды знаходзіць Піліпа. І кажа яму Ісус: «Ідзі за Мною».

The following day Jesus wanted to go to Galilee, and He found Philip and said to him, “Follow Me.”

А Піліп быў з Бэтсайды, горада Андрэя і Пётры.

Now Philip was from Bethsaida, the city of Andrew and Peter.

Піліп жа напаткаў Натанаэля і кажа яму: «Мы знайшлі Таго, аб Кім пісаў Майсей у законе і прарокі: Ісуса, Сына Язэпа з Назарэта».

Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of whom Moses in the law, and also the prophets, wrote — Jesus of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”

І сказаў яму Натанаэль: «Ці можа быць што добрае з Назарэта?» Кажа яму Піліп: «Ідзі і паглядзі».

And Nathanael said to him, “Can anything good come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”

Убачыў Ісус, што Натанаэль ідзе да Яго, і кажа пра яго: «Вось праўдзівы ізраэлец, у якім няма хітрасці».

Jesus saw Nathanael coming toward Him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no deceit!”

Натанаэль кажа Яму: «А скуль жа мяне ведаеш?» Адказваючы, сказаў яму Ісус: «Я бачыў цябе перш, чым пазваў цябе Піліп, калі ты быў пад фігавым дрэвам».

Nathanael said to Him, “How do You know me?” Jesus answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”

Адказаў яму Натанаэль: «Рабі, Ты — Сын Божы, Ты — Валадар Ізраэля!»

Nathanael answered and said to Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of God! You are the King of Israel!”

Адказаў яму Ісус і сказаў: «Таму, што Я табе сказаў: “Я цябе бачыў пад фігавым дрэвам”, паверыў ты? Болей за гэта ўбачыш».

Jesus answered and said to him, “Because I said to you, ‘I saw you under the fig tree,’ do you believe? You will see greater things than these.”

І кажа яму: «Сапраўды, сапраўды кажу вам: убачыце неба адкрытае і анёлаў Божых, што ўзыходзяць і сыходзяць да Сына Чалавечага».

And He said to him, “Most assuredly, I say to you, hereafter[o] you shall see heaven open, and the angels of God ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”
