God having spoken in many parts and in many ways formerly to the fathers in the prophets,

Nachdem Gott vorzeiten vielfach und auf vielerlei Weise geredet hat zu den Vätern durch die Propheten,

at the end of these days has spoken to us in [the person of the] Son, whom he has established heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

hat er in diesen letzten Tagen zu uns geredet durch den Sohn, den er eingesetzt hat zum Erben über alles, durch den er auch die Welt gemacht hat.

who being [the] effulgence of his glory and [the] expression of his substance, and upholding all things by the word of his power, having made [by himself] the purification of sins, set himself down on the right hand of the greatness on high,

Er ist der Abglanz seiner Herrlichkeit und das Ebenbild seines Wesens und trägt alle Dinge mit seinem kräftigen Wort und hat vollbracht die Reinigung von den Sünden und hat sich gesetzt zur Rechten der Majestät in der Höhe Weish 7,26; 2. Kor 4,4; Kol 1,15

taking a place by so much better than the angels, as he inherits a name more excellent than they.

und ist so viel höher geworden als die Engel, wie der Name, den er ererbt hat, höher ist als ihr Name.

For to which of the angels said he ever, Thou art my Son: this day have I begotten thee? and again, I will be to him for father, and he shall be to me for son?

Denn zu welchem Engel hat Gott jemals gesagt (Psalm 2,7): «Du bist mein Sohn, heute habe ich dich gezeugt»? und wiederum (2. Samuel 7,14): «Ich werde sein Vater sein, und er wird mein Sohn sein»?

and again, when he brings in the firstborn into the habitable world, he says, And let all God's angels worship him.

Und wenn er den Erstgeborenen wieder einführt in die Welt, spricht er (Psalm 97,7): «Und es sollen ihn alle Engel Gottes anbeten.»

And as to the angels he says, Who makes his angels spirits and his ministers a flame of fire;

Von den Engeln spricht er zwar (Psalm 104,4): «Er macht seine Engel zu Winden und seine Diener zu Feuerflammen»,

but as to the Son, Thy throne, O God, [is] to the age of the age, and a sceptre of uprightness [is] the sceptre of thy kingdom.

aber von dem Sohn (Psalm 45,7.8): «Gott, dein Thron währt von Ewigkeit zu Ewigkeit, und das Zepter der Gerechtigkeit ist das Zepter deines Reiches.

Thou hast loved righteousness and hast hated lawlessness; therefore God, thy God, has anointed thee with oil of gladness above thy companions.

Du hast geliebt die Gerechtigkeit und gehaßt die Ungerechtigkeit; darum hat dich, oh Gott, dein Gott gesalbt mit Freudenöl wie keinen deinesgleichen.»

And, Thou in the beginning, Lord, hast founded the earth, and works of thy hands are the heavens.

Und (Psalm 102,26-28): «Du, Herr, hast am Anfang die Erde gegründet, und die Himmel sind deiner Hände Werk.

They shall perish, but thou continuest still; and they all shall grow old as a garment,

Sie werden vergehen, du aber bleibst. Sie werden alle veralten wie ein Gewand;

and as a covering shalt thou roll them up, and they shall be changed; but thou art the Same, and thy years shall not fail.

und wie einen Mantel wirst du sie zusammenrollen, wie ein Gewand werden sie gewechselt werden. Du aber bist derselbe, und deine Jahre werden nicht aufhören.»

But as to which of the angels said he ever, Sit at my right hand until I put thine enemies [as] footstool of thy feet?

Zu welchem Engel aber hat er jemals gesagt (Psalm 110,1): «Setze dich zu meiner Rechten, bis ich deine Feinde zum Schemel deiner Füße mache»?

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent out for service on account of those who shall inherit salvation?

Sind sie nicht allesamt dienstbare Geister, ausgesandt zum Dienst um derer willen, die das Heil ererben sollen?
