And the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

И бы́ло ко мне сло́во Госпо́дне:

Son of man, put forth a riddle, and speak a parable unto the house of Israel;

сын челове́ческий! предложи́ зага́дку и скажи́ при́тчу к до́му Изра́илеву.

And say, Thus saith the Lord GOD; A great eagle with great wings, longwinged, full of feathers, which had divers colours, came unto Lebanon, and took the highest branch of the cedar:

Скажи́: так говори́т Госпо́дь Бог: большо́й орёл с больши́ми кры́льями, с дли́нными пе́рьями, пуши́стый, пёстрый, прилете́л на Лива́н и снял с ке́дра верху́шку,

He cropped off the top of his young twigs, and carried it into a land of traffick; he set it in a city of merchants.

сорва́л ве́рхний из молоды́х побе́гов его́ и принёс его́ в зе́млю Ханаа́нскую, в го́роде торго́вцев положи́л его́;

He took also of the seed of the land, and planted it in a fruitful field; he placed it by great waters, and set it as a willow tree.

и взял от се́мени э́той земли́, и посади́л на земле́ се́мени, помести́л у больши́х вод, как сажа́ют и́ву.

And it grew, and became a spreading vine of low stature, whose branches turned toward him, and the roots thereof were under him: so it became a vine, and brought forth branches, and shot forth sprigs.

И оно́ вы́росло, и сде́лалось виногра́дною лозо́ю, широ́кою, ни́зкою ро́стом, кото́рой ве́тви клони́лись к ней, и ко́рни её бы́ли под не́ю же, и ста́ло виногра́дною лозо́ю, и дало́ о́трасли, и пусти́ло ве́тви.

There was also another great eagle with great wings and many feathers: and, behold, this vine did bend her roots toward him, and shot forth her branches toward him, that he might water it by the furrows of her plantation.

И ещё был орёл с больши́ми кры́льями и пуши́стый; и вот, э́та виногра́дная лоза́ потяну́лась к нему́ свои́ми корня́ми и простёрла к нему́ ве́тви свои́, что́бы он полива́л её из боро́зд расса́дника своего́.

It was planted in a good soil by great waters, that it might bring forth branches, and that it might bear fruit, that it might be a goodly vine.

Она́ была́ поса́жена на хоро́шем по́ле, у больши́х вод, так что могла́ пуска́ть ве́тви и приноси́ть плод, сде́латься лозо́ю великоле́пною.

Say thou, Thus saith the Lord GOD; Shall it prosper? shall he not pull up the roots thereof, and cut off the fruit thereof, that it wither? it shall wither in all the leaves of her spring, even without great power or many people to pluck it up by the roots thereof.

Скажи́: так говори́т Госпо́дь Бог: бу́дет ли ей успе́х? Не вы́рвут ли корне́й её, и не оборву́т ли плодо́в её, так что она́ засо́хнет? все молоды́е ве́тви, отро́сшие от неё, засо́хнут. И не с большо́ю си́лою и не со мно́гими людьми́ сорву́т её с корне́й её.

Yea, behold, being planted, shall it prosper? shall it not utterly wither, when the east wind toucheth it? it shall wither in the furrows where it grew.

И вот, хотя́ она́ поса́жена, но бу́дет ли успе́х? Не иссо́хнет ли она́, как ско́ро коснётся её восто́чный ве́тер? иссо́хнет на гря́дах, где вы́росла.

Moreover the word of the LORD came unto me, saying,

И бы́ло ко мне сло́во Госпо́дне:

Say now to the rebellious house, Know ye not what these things mean? tell them, Behold, the king of Babylon is come to Jerusalem, and hath taken the king thereof, and the princes thereof, and led them with him to Babylon;

скажи́ мяте́жному до́му: ра́зве не зна́ете, что э́то зна́чит? — Скажи́: вот, пришёл царь Вавило́нский в Иерусали́м, и взял царя́ его́ и князе́й его́, и привёл их к себе́ в Вавило́н.

And hath taken of the king's seed, and made a covenant with him, and hath taken an oath of him: he hath also taken the mighty of the land:

И взял друго́го из ца́рского ро́да, и заключи́л с ним сою́з, и обяза́л его́ кля́твою, и взял си́льных земли́ той с собо́ю,

That the kingdom might be base, that it might not lift itself up, but that by keeping of his covenant it might stand.

что́бы ца́рство бы́ло поко́рное, что́бы не могло́ подня́ться, что́бы сохраня́ем был сою́з и стоя́л твёрдо.

But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and much people. Shall he prosper? shall he escape that doeth such things? or shall he break the covenant, and be delivered?

Но тот отложи́лся от него́, посла́в посло́в свои́х в Еги́пет, что́бы да́ли ему́ коне́й и мно́го люде́й. Бу́дет ли ему́ успе́х? Уцеле́ет ли тот, кто э́то де́лает? Он нару́шил сою́з — и уцеле́ет ли?

As I live, saith the Lord GOD, surely in the place where the king dwelleth that made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he brake, even with him in the midst of Babylon he shall die.

Живу́ Я, говори́т Госпо́дь Бог: в местопребыва́нии царя́, кото́рый поста́вил его́ царём, и кото́рому да́нную кля́тву он презре́л, и нару́шил сою́з свой с ним, он умрёт у него́ в Вавило́не.

Neither shall Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company make for him in the war, by casting up mounts, and building forts, to cut off many persons:

С вели́кою си́лою и с многочи́сленным наро́дом фарао́н ничего́ не сде́лает для него́ в э́той войне́, когда́ бу́дет насы́пан вал и постро́ены бу́дут оса́дные ба́шни на поги́бель мно́гих душ.

Seeing he despised the oath by breaking the covenant, when, lo, he had given his hand, and hath done all these things, he shall not escape.

Он презре́л кля́тву, что́бы нару́шить сою́з, и вот, дал ру́ку свою́ и сде́лал всё э́то; он не уцеле́ет.

Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; As I live, surely mine oath that he hath despised, and my covenant that he hath broken, even it will I recompense upon his own head.

Посему́ так говори́т Госпо́дь Бог: живу́ Я! кля́тву Мою́, кото́рую он презре́л, и сою́з Мой, кото́рый он нару́шил, Я обращу́ на его́ го́лову.

And I will spread my net upon him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon, and will plead with him there for his trespass that he hath trespassed against me.

И заки́ну на него́ сеть Мою́, и по́йман бу́дет в тенёта Мои́; и приведу́ его́ в Вавило́н, и там бу́ду суди́ться с ним за вероло́мство его́ про́тив Меня́.

And all his fugitives with all his bands shall fall by the sword, and they that remain shall be scattered toward all winds: and ye shall know that I the LORD have spoken it.

А все беглецы́ его́ из всех полко́в его́ паду́т от меча́, а оста́вшиеся разве́яны бу́дут по всем ветра́м; и узна́ете, что Я, Госпо́дь, сказа́л э́то.

Thus saith the Lord GOD; I will also take of the highest branch of the high cedar, and will set it; I will crop off from the top of his young twigs a tender one, and will plant it upon an high mountain and eminent:

Так говори́т Госпо́дь Бог: и возьму́ Я с верши́ны высо́кого ке́дра, и посажу́; с ве́рхних побе́гов его́ ото́рву не́жную о́трасль и посажу́ на высо́кой и вели́чественной горе́.

In the mountain of the height of Israel will I plant it: and it shall bring forth boughs, and bear fruit, and be a goodly cedar: and under it shall dwell all fowl of every wing; in the shadow of the branches thereof shall they dwell.

На высо́кой горе́ Изра́илевой посажу́ его́, и пу́стит ве́тви, и принесёт плод, и сде́лается вели́чественным ке́дром, и бу́дут обита́ть под ним вся́кие пти́цы, вся́кие перна́тые бу́дут обита́ть в тени́ ветве́й его́.

And all the trees of the field shall know that I the LORD have brought down the high tree, have exalted the low tree, have dried up the green tree, and have made the dry tree to flourish: I the LORD have spoken and have done it.

И узна́ют все дерева́ полевы́е, что Я — Госпо́дь, высо́кое де́рево понижа́ю, ни́зкое де́рево повыша́ю, зелене́ющее де́рево иссуша́ю, а сухо́е де́рево де́лаю цвету́щим: Я — Госпо́дь, сказа́л и сде́лаю.
