Dear brothers and sisters,a the longing of my heart and my prayer to God is for the people of Israel to be saved.

Браты! з маім глыбокім сардэчным перажываньнем (я) у прашэньні перад Богам за Ізраэль аб (ягоным) выратаваньні.

I know what enthusiasm they have for God, but it is misdirected zeal.

Бо сьведчу ім, што (яны) маюць руплівасьць па Богу, але бязь ве́даньня (праўды Бога).

For they don’t understand God’s way of making people right with himself. Refusing to accept God’s way, they cling to their own way of getting right with God by trying to keep the law.

Бо ня разумеючы праведнасьці Бога і імкнучыся ўстанавіць сваю праведнасьць, яны ня пакарыліся праведнасьці Бога;

For Christ has already accomplished the purpose for which the law was given.b As a result, all who believe in him are made right with God.

бо канец Закону — Хрыстос, на апраўданьне кожнаму веручаму.

For Moses writes that the law’s way of making a person right with God requires obedience to all of its commands.c

Бо Масей піша аб праведнасьці паводля Закону: чалавек, які яго споўніў, жыць будзе ім.

But faith’s way of getting right with God says, “Don’t say in your heart, ‘Who will go up to heaven?’ (to bring Christ down to earth).

А праведнасьць ад веры кажа так: ня кажы ў сэрцы тваім: хто ўзыйдзе на Неба?, гэта значыць Хрыста зьвесьці (уніз);

And don’t say, ‘Who will go down to the place of the dead?’ (to bring Christ back to life again).”

альбо: «хто сыйдзе ў бяздоньне?», гэта значыць Хрыста із мёртвых узьвесьці.

In fact, it says, “The message is very close at hand; it is on your lips and in your heart.”d And that message is the very message about faith that we preach:

Але што кажа (Пісаньне)? «Блізка да цябе слова, у вуснах тваіх і ў сэрцы тваім», гэта значыць слова веры, якое мы абвяшчаем.

If you openly declare that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Таму што, калі ты вызнаў вуснамі тваімі Госпада Ісуса і паверыў у сэрцы тваім, што Бог уваскрасіў Яго зь мёртвых, будзеш выратаваны:

For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God, and it is by openly declaring your faith that you are saved.

бо сэрцам верыцца дзеля праведнасьці, а вуснамі вызнаецца дзеля збаўленьня.

As the Scriptures tell us, “Anyone who trusts in him will never be disgraced.”e

Бо Пісаньне гаворыць: «Кожны, хто верыць у Яго, ня будзе пасаромлены».

Jew and Gentilef are the same in this respect. They have the same Lord, who gives generously to all who call on him.

Таму што няма розьніцы паміж жыдом і эллінам, таму што Ён — Госпад усіх, багаты для ўсіх, хто кліча Яго.

For “Everyone who calls on the name of the LORD will be saved.”g

Бо кожны, хто б ні прыклікаў Імя Госпада, будзе збаўлены.

But how can they call on him to save them unless they believe in him? And how can they believe in him if they have never heard about him? And how can they hear about him unless someone tells them?

Як жа будуць клікаць (Таго), у Каторага ня ўверавалі? Як жа павераць у (Таго), пра Каторага ня пачулі? Як жа пачуюць бяз абвяшчаючага?

And how will anyone go and tell them without being sent? That is why the Scriptures say, “How beautiful are the feet of messengers who bring good news!”h

Як жа будуць абвяшчаць, калі ня будуць пасланыя? Як напісана: «Як прыгожыя ногі тых, хто дабравесьцяць мір, дабравесьцяць добрае!» (Гісая 52:7).

But not everyone welcomes the Good News, for Isaiah the prophet said, “LORD, who has believed our message?”i

Але ня ўсе паслухалі Эвангельля. Бо Гісая кажа: «Госпадзе! Хто паверыў паведамленьню нашаму?»

So faith comes from hearing, that is, hearing the Good News about Christ.

Такім чынам, вера — ад пачутага, а слуханьне — у Слове Бога.

But I ask, have the people of Israel actually heard the message? Yes, they have: “The message has gone throughout the earth, and the words to all the world.”j

Але пытаюся: хіба яны ня пачулі? Больш таго, па ўсёй зямлі прайшоў голас іхны (прапаведуючых), і да межаў заселенай зямлі (прайшлі) словы іхныя.

But I ask, did the people of Israel really understand? Yes, they did, for even in the time of Moses, God said, “I will rouse your jealousy through people who are not even a nation. I will provoke your anger through the foolish Gentiles.”k

Але пытаюся: хіба Ізраэль ня ведаў? Масей гаворыць першы: «Я прывяду вас да рупнасьці ня народам; раздражню вас народам някемлівым».

And later Isaiah spoke boldly for God, saying, “I was found by people who were not looking for me. I showed myself to those who were not asking for me.”l

Гісая асьмеліваецца і кажа: «Я знойдзен тымі, хто Мяне ня шукаў, Я стаўся яўным для тых, што ня пыталіся пра Мяне».

But regarding Israel, God said, “All day long I opened my arms to them, but they were disobedient and rebellious.”m

Да Ізраэля ж гаворыць: «Увесь дзень Я працягваў Рукі Мае да народу няпаслухмянага і ўпартага».
