And the Philistines assembled their armies to battle, and were gathered together at Sochoh, which belongs to Judah, and encamped between Sochoh and Azekah, in Ephesdammim.

И҆ собира́ша и҆ноплемє́нницы полкѝ своѧ҄ на бра́нь, и҆ собра́шасѧ въ сокхѡ́ѳѣ ї҆ѹде́йстѣмъ, и҆ ѡ҆полчи́шасѧ средѣ̀ сокхѡ́ѳа и҆ средѝ а҆зика̀ во а҆фесдоммі́нѣ.

And Saul and the men of Israel were gathered together, and encamped in the valley of terebinths, and set the battle in array against the Philistines.

Саѹ́лъ же и҆ мѹ́жїе ї҆и҃лєвы собра́шасѧ и҆ ѡ҆полчи́шасѧ во ѹ҆до́ли тереві́нѳа и҆ ѹ҆строѧ́хѹсѧ на бра́нь проти́вѹ и҆ноплеме́нникѡмъ.

And the Philistines stood on the mountain on the one side, and Israel stood on the mountain on the other side; and the ravine was between them.

И҆ и҆ноплемє́нницы стоѧ́хѹ на горѣ̀ ѿсю́дѹ ѻ҆со́бь, ї҆и҃ль же стоѧ́ше на горѣ̀ ѿѻнѹ́дѹ, и҆ ѹ҆до́ль междѹ̀ и҆́ми бѧ́ше.

And there went out a champion from the camp of the Philistines, named Goliath, of Gath, whose height was six cubits and a span.

И҆ и҆зы́де мѹ́жъ си́ленъ и҆з̾ полка̀ и҆ноплеме́ннича, и҆́мѧ є҆мѹ̀ голїа́ѳъ ѿ ге́ѳа, высота̀ є҆гѡ̀ ше́сть лакѡ́тъ и҆ пѧ́дь:

And he had a helmet of bronze upon his head, and he was clothed with a corselet of scales; and the weight of the corselet was five thousand shekels of bronze.

и҆ шле́мъ мѣ́дѧнъ на главѣ̀ є҆гѡ̀, и҆ въ броню̀ кольча́тѹ то́й ѡ҆болче́нъ бѧ́ше: и҆ вѣ́съ бронѝ є҆гѡ̀ пѧ́ть ты́сѧщъ сї҄кль мѣ́ди и҆ желѣ́за:

And he had greaves of bronze upon his legs, and a javelin of bronze between his shoulders.

и҆ поно́жы мѣ҄дѧны верхѹ̀ го́ленїй є҆гѡ̀, и҆ щи́тъ мѣ́дѧнъ на плеща́хъ є҆гѡ̀:

And the shaft of his spear was like a weaver's beam; and his spear's head weighed six hundred shekels of iron; and the shield-bearer went before him.

и҆ ра́товище копїѧ̀ є҆гѡ̀ а҆́ки ѻ҆рѹ́дїе ткѹ́щихъ, и҆ копїѐ є҆гѡ̀ ше́сть сѡ́тъ сї҄кль желѣ́за: и҆ носѧ́й ѻ҆рѹ́жїе є҆гѡ̀ и҆дѧ́ше пред̾ ни́мъ.

And he stood and cried to the ranks of Israel, and said to them, Why are ye come out to set your battle in array? am not I the Philistine, and ye servants of Saul? choose for yourselves a man, and let him come down to me.

И҆ ста̀ и҆ возопѝ пред̾ полки҄ ї҆и҃левыми и҆ речѐ и҆̀мъ: почто̀ и҆зыдо́сте, ѡ҆полчи́тисѧ ли на бра́нь проти́вѹ на́мъ; нѣ́смь ли а҆́зъ и҆ноплеме́нникъ, вы́ же є҆вре́є саѹ́лѡвы; и҆збери́те себѣ̀ мѹ́жа, и҆ да сни́детъ ко мнѣ̀:

If he be able to fight with me, and to smite me, then will we be your servants; but if I overcome and smite him, then shall ye be our servants and serve us.

и҆ а҆́ще возмо́жетъ со мно́ю бра́тисѧ и҆ ѡ҆долѣ́етъ мѝ, бѹ́демъ ва́мъ рабѝ: а҆́ще же а҆́зъ возмогѹ̀ ѡ҆долѣ́ти є҆мѹ̀, бѹ́дете вы̀ на́мъ рабѝ и҆ порабо́таете на́мъ.

And the Philistine said, I have defied the ranks of Israel this day; give me a man, that we may fight together.

И҆ речѐ и҆ноплеме́нникъ: сѐ, а҆́зъ дне́сь ѹ҆ничижи́хъ по́лкъ ї҆и҃левъ въ се́й де́нь: дади́те мѝ мѹ́жа, и҆́же побо́ретсѧ со мно́ю є҆ди́нъ.

And Saul and all Israel heard these words of the Philistine, and they were dismayed and greatly afraid.

И҆ слы́ша саѹ́лъ и҆ ве́сь ї҆и҃ль глаго́лы и҆ноплемє́нничи сїѧ҄ и҆ ѹ҆жасо́шасѧ и҆ ѹ҆боѧ́шасѧ ѕѣлѡ̀.

Now David was the son of that Ephrathite of Bethlehem-Judah whose name was Jesse; and he had eight sons; and the man was old in the days of Saul, advanced [in years] among men.

Даві́дъ же є҆фраѳе́евъ, се́й бѣ̀ ѿ виѳлее́ма ї҆ѹ́дина, и҆́мѧ же ѻ҆тцѹ̀ є҆гѡ̀ ї҆ессе́й, є҆мѹ́же бѣ̀ ѻ҆́смь сынѡ́въ. Во дни҄ же саѹ́лѡвы бѣ̀ мѹ́жъ то́й состарѣ́сѧ въ мѹже́хъ.

And the three eldest of the sons of Jesse had gone and followed Saul to the battle; and the names of his three sons that went to the battle were Eliab the firstborn, and the second to him Abinadab, and the third Shammah.

И҆ и҆до́ша трѝ сы́ны ї҆ессе́євы старѣ́йшїи на бра́нь съ саѹ́ломъ: и҆мена́ же сынѡ́въ є҆гѡ̀ поше́дшихъ на бра́нь, є҆лїа́въ перворо́дный є҆гѡ̀, и҆ вторы́й а҆мїнада́въ, и҆ тре́тїй самма̀.

And David was the youngest; and the three eldest had followed Saul.

Даві́дъ же бѣ̀ ю҆нѣ́йшїй, и҆ трѝ бо́лшїи є҆гѡ̀ и҆до́ша в̾слѣ́дъ саѹ́ла.

But David went and returned from Saul to feed his father's sheep at Bethlehem.

Даві́дъ же возврати́всѧ ѿ саѹ́ла, ѿи́де пастѝ ѻ҆́вцы ѻ҆тца̀ своегѡ̀ въ виѳлее́мъ.

And the Philistine drew near morning and evening, and presented himself forty days.

И҆ прихожда́ше и҆ноплеме́нникъ ѹ҆́трѡ и҆ въ ве́черъ, ѩ҆влѧ́ѧсѧ пред̾ ї҆и҃лемъ четы́редесѧть дні́й.

And Jesse said to David his son, Take, I pray, for thy brethren, this ephah of parched [corn] and these ten loaves, and carry them quickly to the camp to thy brethren;

И҆ речѐ ї҆ессе́й даві́дѹ сы́нѹ своемѹ̀: возмѝ ѹ҆̀бо бра́тїѧмъ твои҄мъ мѣ́рѹ є҆́фї мѹкѝ и҆ де́сѧть хлѣ҄бъ си́хъ, и҆ и҆дѝ въ по́лкъ, и҆ да́ждь бра́тїѧмъ твои҄мъ:

and carry these ten cheeses to the captain of the thousand, and visit thy brethren to see how they are, and take a pledge of them.

и҆ де́сѧть сы́рѡвъ ѿ млека̀ сегѡ̀, и҆ да́ждь ты́сѧщникѹ: и҆ бра́тїю свою̀ посѣтѝ въ ми́рѣ, и҆ є҆ли́кихъ а҆́ще тре́бѹютъ, ѹ҆вѣ́си, сѹббѡ́тствовати же бѹ́деши со мно́ю.

Now Saul, and they, and all the men of Israel [were] in the valley of terebinths, fighting against the Philistines.

Саѹ́лъ же и҆ всѝ лю́дїе бѧ́хѹ во ѹ҆до́ли дѹ́ба ра́тѹющесѧ со и҆ноплемє́нники.

And David rose up early in the morning, and left the sheep with a keeper, and took his charge and went, as Jesse had commanded him. And he came to the wagon-defence; and the host which was going forth to the battle-array shouted for the fight.

И҆ воста̀ даві́дъ ра́нѡ, ѻ҆́вцы же ѡ҆ста́ви со стра́жею, и҆ взѧ̀, и҆ ѿи́де, ѩ҆́коже заповѣ́да є҆мѹ̀ ѻ҆те́цъ є҆гѡ̀ ї҆ессе́й: и҆ прїи́де на мѣ́сто, и҆дѣ́же и҆схожда́хѹ си́льнїи на бра́нь и҆ вопїѧ́хѹ въ полцѣ́хъ.

And Israel and the Philistines put the battle in array, rank against rank.

Зане́же воѡрѹжа́шесѧ ї҆и҃ль проти́вѹ и҆ноплеме́нникѡмъ, и҆ и҆ноплемє́нницы воѡрѹжа́хѹсѧ проти́вѹ ї҆и҃лѧ.

And David left the things he was carrying in the hand of the keeper of the baggage, and ran into the ranks, and came and saluted his brethren.

И҆ положѝ даві́дъ бре́мѧ своѐ въ рѹка́хъ стра́жа, и҆ течѐ въ по́лкъ, и҆ прише́дъ вопросѝ бра́тїю свою̀ въ ми́рѣ.

And as he talked with them, behold there came up the champion, the Philistine of Gath, Goliath by name, out of the ranks of the Philistines, and spoke according to the same words; and David heard [them].

Глаго́лющѹ же є҆мѹ̀ съ ни́ми, и҆ сѐ, мѹ́жъ месе́йскїй, є҆мѹ́же и҆́мѧ голїа́ѳъ, фѷлїсті́млѧнинъ ѿ ге́ѳы, и҆зы́де ѿ полкѡ́въ и҆ноплеме́нничихъ и҆ глаго́ла по словесє́мъ си҄мъ, и҆ ѹ҆слы́ша даві́дъ.

And all the men of Israel, when they saw the man, fled from him and were greatly afraid.

И҆ всѝ мѹ́жїе ї҆и҃лєвы є҆гда̀ ѹ҆ви́дѣша мѹ́жа, и҆ бѣжа́ша ѿ лица̀ є҆гѡ̀ и҆ ѹ҆боѧ́шасѧ ѕѣлѡ̀.

And the men of Israel said, Have ye seen this man that comes up? for to defy Israel is he come up: and it shall be, that the man who smites him, him will the king enrich with great riches, and will give him his daughter, and make his father's house free in Israel.

И҆ рѣ́ша мѹ́жїе ї҆и҃лтестїи: ви́дѣсте ли мѹ́жа сего̀ восходѧ́ща, ѩ҆́кѡ поноси́ти ї҆и҃лѧ прїи́де; и҆ а҆́ще бѹ́детъ мѹ́жъ, и҆́же ѹ҆бїе́тъ є҆го̀, ѡ҆богати́тъ є҆го̀ ца́рь бога́тствомъ ве́лїимъ, и҆ дще́рь свою̀ да́стъ є҆мѹ̀, и҆ до́мъ ѻ҆тца̀ є҆гѡ̀ сотвори́тъ свобо́денъ во ї҆и҃ли.

And David spoke to the men that stood by him, saying, What shall be done to the man that smites this Philistine, and takes away the reproach from Israel? for who is this uncircumcised Philistine, that he should defy the armies of the living God?

И҆ речѐ даві́дъ къ мѹжє́мъ стоѧ́щымъ съ ни́мъ, глаго́лѧ: что̀ сотворитѐ мѹ́жѹ, и҆́же ѹ҆бїе́тъ и҆ноплеме́нника ѻ҆́наго и҆ ѿи́метъ поноше́нїе ѿ ї҆и҃лѧ; ѩ҆́кѡ кто̀ є҆́сть и҆ноплеме́нникъ неѡбрѣ́занный се́й, и҆́же поно́ситъ полкѹ̀ бг҃а жива́гѡ;

And the people told him after this manner, saying, So shall it be done to the man that smites him.

И҆ реко́ша є҆мѹ̀ лю́дїе по словесѝ семѹ̀, глаго́люще: та́кѡ сотвори́тсѧ мѹ́жѹ, и҆́же ѹ҆бїе́тъ є҆го̀.

And Eliab, his eldest brother, heard while he spoke to the men; and Eliab's anger was kindled against David, and he said, Why art thou come down? and with whom hast thou left those few sheep in the wilderness? I know thy pride and the naughtiness of thy heart; for thou art come down that thou mightest see the battle.

И҆ ѹ҆слы́ша є҆лїа́въ бра́тъ є҆гѡ̀ бо́лшїй, внегда̀ глаго́лати є҆мѹ̀ къ мѹжє́мъ: и҆ разгнѣ́васѧ ѩ҆́ростїю є҆лїа́въ на даві́да и҆ речѐ: почто̀ сѣ́мѡ прише́лъ є҆сѝ; и҆ комѹ̀ ѡ҆ста́вилъ є҆сѝ ма҄лыѧ ѻ҆́вцы ѡ҆́ны въ пѹсты́ни; вѣ́мъ а҆́зъ го́рдость твою̀ и҆ ѕло́бѹ се́рдца твоегѡ̀, ѩ҆́кѡ видѣ́нїѧ ра́ди бра́ни прише́лъ є҆сѝ.

And David said, What have I now done? Was it not laid upon me?

И҆ речѐ даві́дъ: что̀ сотвори́хъ нн҃ѣ; нѣ́сть ли рѣ́чь;

And he turned from him to another, and spoke after the same manner; and the people answered him again after the former manner.

И҆ ѿврати́сѧ ѿ негѡ̀ ко и҆но́мѹ и҆ речѐ по словесѝ семѹ̀. И҆ ѿвѣща́ша є҆мѹ̀ лю́дїе по словесѝ пре́жнемѹ.

And the words were heard which David spoke, and they rehearsed them before Saul; and he sent for him.

И҆ слы҄шаны бы́ша глаго́лы, и҆̀хже глаго́ла даві́дъ, и҆ возвѣсти́ша пред̾ саѹ́ломъ: и҆ поѧ́ша є҆го̀ лю́дїе и҆ приведо́ша є҆го̀ пред̾ саѹ́ла.

And David said to Saul, Let no man's heart fail because of him: thy servant will go and fight with this Philistine.

И҆ речѐ даві́дъ къ саѹ́лѹ: да не ѹ҆жаса́етсѧ се́рдце господи́нѹ моемѹ̀ ѡ҆ се́мъ, ра́бъ тво́й по́йдетъ и҆ побо́ретсѧ со и҆ноплеме́нникомъ си́мъ.

And Saul said to David, Thou art not able to go against this Philistine to fight with him; for thou art but a youth, and he a man of war from his youth.

И҆ речѐ саѹ́лъ къ даві́дѹ: не возмо́жеши пойтѝ ко и҆ноплеме́нникѹ семѹ̀ бра́тисѧ съ ни́мъ, ѩ҆́кѡ ты̀ дѣ́тищь є҆сѝ, се́й же мѹ́жъ боре́цъ є҆́сть ѿ ю҆́ности своеѧ̀.

And David said to Saul, Thy servant fed his father's sheep, and there came a lion, and also a bear, and took a lamb out of the flock.

И҆ речѐ даві́дъ къ саѹ́лѹ: є҆гда̀ пасѧ́ше ра́бъ тво́й ѻ҆тца̀ своегѡ̀ ста́до, и҆ є҆гда̀ прихожда́ше ле́въ и҆лѝ медвѣ́дица и҆ восхища́ше ѿ ста́да ѻ҆́вцѹ є҆ди́нѹ:

And I went after him, and smote him, and delivered it out of his mouth; and when he arose against me, I seized him by his beard, and smote him, and slew him.

и҆ а҆́зъ в̾слѣ́дъ є҆гѡ̀ и҆схожда́хъ и҆ поража́хъ є҆го̀, и҆ и҆сторга́хъ и҆з̾ ѹ҆́стъ є҆гѡ̀ (взѧ́тое): и҆ а҆́ще воспротивлѧ́шесѧ мѝ, то̀ взе́мъ за горта́нь є҆гѡ̀, поража́хъ и҆ ѹ҆мерщвлѧ́хъ є҆го̀:

Thy servant smote both the lion and the bear; and this uncircumcised Philistine shall be as one of them, because he has defied the armies of the living God.

и҆ льва̀ и҆ медвѣ́дицѹ бїѧ́ше ра́бъ тво́й, и҆ бѹ́детъ и҆ноплеме́нникъ неѡбрѣ́занный се́й ѩ҆́кѡ є҆ди́нъ ѿ си́хъ: не поидѹ́ ли, и҆ поражѹ̀ є҆го̀, и҆ ѿимѹ̀ дне́сь поноше́нїе ѿ ї҆и҃лѧ; поне́же кто̀ неѡбрѣ́занный се́й, и҆́же ѹ҆ничижѝ по́лкъ бг҃а жи́ва;

And David said, Jehovah who delivered me out of the paw of the lion and out of the paw of the bear, he will deliver me out of the hand of this Philistine. And Saul said to David, Go, and Jehovah be with thee.

И҆ речѐ даві́дъ: гд҇ь и҆́же и҆з̾ѧ́тъ мѧ̀ ѿ рѹкѝ льво́вы и҆ ѿ рѹкѝ медвѣ́дицы, то́й и҆́зметъ мѧ̀ ѿ рѹкѝ и҆ноплеме́нника сегѡ̀ неѡбрѣ́заннагѡ. И҆ речѐ саѹ́лъ къ даві́дѹ: и҆дѝ, и҆ да бѹ́детъ гд҇ь съ тобо́ю.

And Saul clothed David with his dress, and put a helmet of bronze upon his head, and clothed him with a corselet.

И҆ ѡ҆блечѐ саѹ́лъ даві́да ѻ҆де́ждею, и҆ шле́мъ мѣ́дѧнъ возложѝ на главѹ̀ є҆гѡ̀,

And David girded his sword upon his dress, and endeavoured to go; for he had not yet tried [it]. And David said to Saul, I cannot go in these; for I have never tried [them]. And David put them off him.

и҆ препоѧ́са даві́да ѻ҆рѹ́жїемъ свои́мъ верхѹ̀ ѻ҆де́жды є҆гѡ̀. Даві́дъ же походи́въ (во ѻ҆рѹ́жїи) сѣ́мѡ и҆ ѻ҆ва́мѡ, ѹ҆трѹди́сѧ, ѩ҆́кѡ не ѡ҆бы́че. И҆ речѐ даві́дъ саѹ́лѹ: не могѹ̀ и҆тѝ въ си́хъ, ѩ҆́кѡ не ѡ҆быко́хъ. И҆ взѧ́ша ѿ негѡ̀ сїѧ҄.

And he took his staff in his hand, and chose him five smooth stones out of the brook, and put them in the shepherd's bag that he had, into the pocket; and his sling was in his hand. And he drew near to the Philistine.

И҆ взѧ̀ па́лицѹ свою̀ въ рѹ́кѹ свою̀, и҆ и҆збра̀ себѣ̀ пѧ́ть ка́менїй гла́дкихъ ѿ пото́ка, и҆ вложѝ ѧ҆̀ въ тобо́лецъ па́стырскїй є҆го́же ноша́ше, и҆ пра́щѹ свою̀ и҆мы́й въ рѹцѣ̀ свое́й, и҆ и҆́де къ мѹ́жѹ и҆ноплеме́нникѹ.

And the Philistine came on and approached David; and the man that bore the shield was before him.

И҆ и҆дѧ́ше и҆ноплеме́нникъ приближа́ѧсѧ къ даві́дѹ, и҆ носѧ́й ѻ҆рѹ́жїе є҆гѡ̀ пред̾ ни́мъ (и҆дѧ́ше).

And when the Philistine looked about and saw David, he disdained him; for he was a youth, and ruddy, and besides of a beautiful countenance.

И҆ ви́дѣ голїа́ѳъ и҆ноплеме́нникъ даві́да и҆ ѡ҆безче́ствова є҆го̀, занѐ то́й дѣ́тищь бѣ̀, и҆ че́рменъ и҆ лѣ́пъ ѻ҆чи́ма.

And the Philistine said to David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods.

И҆ речѐ и҆ноплеме́нникъ къ даві́дѹ: є҆да̀ пе́съ а҆́зъ є҆́смь, ѩ҆́кѡ ты̀ и҆́деши проти́вѹ менє̀ съ па́лицею и҆ ка́менїемъ; И҆ речѐ даві́дъ: нѝ, но и҆ хѹ́ждшїй пса̀. И҆ проклѧ̀ и҆ноплеме́нникъ даві́да бѡ́ги свои́ми.

And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh to the fowls of the heavens and to the beasts of the field.

И҆ речѐ и҆ноплеме́нникъ къ даві́дѹ: грѧдѝ ко мнѣ̀, и҆ да́мъ пло́ть твою̀ пти́цамъ небє́снымъ и҆ ѕвѣрє́мъ зємны́мъ.

And David said to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with sword, and with spear, and with javelin; but I come to thee in the name of Jehovah of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied.

И҆ речѐ даві́дъ и҆ноплеме́нникѹ: ты̀ и҆́деши на мѧ̀ съ мече́мъ и҆ съ копїе́мъ и҆ щито́мъ, а҆́зъ же и҆дѹ̀ на тѧ̀ во и҆́мѧ гд҇а бг҃а саваѡ́ѳа, бг҃а ѡ҆полче́нїѧ ї҆и҃лева, є҆го́же ты̀ ѹ҆ничижи́лъ є҆сѝ дне́сь:

This day will Jehovah deliver thee up into my hand; and I will smite thee, and take thy head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the camp of the Philistines this day to the fowl of the heavens and to the wild beasts of the earth. And all the earth shall know that Israel has a God;

и҆ преда́стъ тѧ̀ гд҇ь дне́сь въ рѹ́цѣ моѝ, и҆ ѹ҆бїю̀ тѧ̀, и҆ ѿимѹ̀ главѹ̀ твою̀ ѿ тебє̀, и҆ да́мъ тѣ́ло твоѐ и҆ тѣлеса̀ полка̀ и҆ноплеме́ннича въ де́нь се́й пти́цамъ небє́снымъ и҆ ѕвѣрє́мъ зємны́мъ: и҆ ѹ҆разѹмѣ́етъ всѧ̀ землѧ̀, ѩ҆́кѡ є҆́сть гд҇ь бг҃ъ во ї҆и҃ли,

and all this congregation shall know that Jehovah saves not with sword and spear; for the battle is Jehovah's, and he will give you into our hands.

и҆ ѹ҆разѹмѣ́етъ ве́сь со́нмъ се́й, ѩ҆́кѡ не мече́мъ ни копїе́мъ сп҃са́етъ гд҇ь, ѩ҆́кѡ гд҇нѧ бра́нь, и҆ преда́стъ гд҇ь ва́съ въ рѹ́ки на́шѧ.

And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and advanced to meet David, that David hasted, and ran towards the ranks to meet the Philistine.

И҆ воста̀ и҆ноплеме́нникъ и҆ и҆́де во срѣ́тенїе даві́дѹ. И҆ ѹ҆скорѝ даві́дъ и҆ течѐ на сраже́нїе во срѣ́тенїе и҆ноплеме́нникѹ.

And David put his hand into the bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, and the stone sank into his forehead; and he fell on his face to the earth.

И҆ прострѐ даві́дъ рѹ́кѹ свою̀ въ тобо́лецъ, и҆ и҆з̾ѧ̀ и҆з̾ негѡ̀ ка́мень є҆ди́нъ, (и҆ вложѝ въ пра́щѹ,) и҆ ве́рже пра́щею, и҆ поразѝ и҆ноплеме́нника въ чело̀ є҆гѡ̀, и҆ ѹ҆нзѐ ка́мень под̾ шле́момъ є҆гѡ̀ въ чело̀ є҆гѡ̀, и҆ падѐ (голїа́ѳъ) на лицы̀ свое́мъ на зе́млю.

So David overcame the Philistine with a sling and a stone, and smote the Philistine and killed him; and there was no sword in the hand of David.

И҆ ѹ҆крѣпи́сѧ даві́дъ над̾ и҆ноплеме́нникомъ пра́щею и҆ ка́менемъ, и҆ поразѝ и҆ноплеме́нника, и҆ ѹ҆мертвѝ є҆го̀: ѻ҆рѹ́жїѧ же не бѣ̀ въ рѹцѣ̀ даві́довѣ.

And David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of its sheath, and killed him completely, and cut off his head with it. And when the Philistines saw that their hero was dead, they fled.

И҆ течѐ ско́рѡ даві́дъ, и҆ ста̀ над̾ ни́мъ, и҆ взѧ̀ ме́чь є҆гѡ̀, и҆ и҆звлечѐ є҆го̀ ѿ нѣ́дръ є҆гѡ̀, и҆ ѹ҆мертвѝ є҆го̀, и҆ ѿсѣчѐ и҆́мъ главѹ̀ є҆гѡ̀. И҆ ви́дѣша и҆ноплемє́нницы, ѩ҆́кѡ ѹ҆́мре си́льный и҆́хъ, и҆ бѣжа́ша.

And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until thou comest to the ravine and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down on the way to Shaaraim, even to Gath, and to Ekron.

И҆ воста́ша мѹ́жїе ї҆и҃лєвы и҆ ї҆ѹ҄дины и҆ воскли́кнѹша, и҆ погна́ша созадѝ и҆́хъ да́же до вхо́да ге́ѳова и҆ до вра́тъ а҆скалѡ́нскихъ: и҆ падо́ша ѹ҆ѧ́звленни (мно́зи) и҆ноплемє́нницы по пѹтѝ вра́тъ и҆ да́же до ге́ѳа и҆ а҆ккарѡ́на.

And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they pillaged their camps.

И҆ возврати́шасѧ мѹ́жїе ї҆и҃лєвы гна́вшїи в̾слѣ́дъ и҆ноплемє́нникъ, и҆ потопта́ша полкѝ и҆́хъ.

And David took the head of the Philistine and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent.

И҆ взѧ̀ даві́дъ главѹ̀ и҆ноплеме́нника и҆ внесѐ ю҆̀ во ї҆ер҇ли́мъ, и҆ ѻ҆рѹ́жїе є҆гѡ̀ положѝ во хра́минѣ свое́й.

And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said to Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this young man? And Abner said, As thy soul liveth, O king, I cannot tell.

И҆ є҆гда̀ ви́дѣ саѹ́лъ даві́да и҆сходѧ́ща во срѣ́тенїе и҆ноплеме́нника, речѐ ко а҆вени́рѹ кнѧ́зю си́лы: чі́й є҆́сть сы́нъ ю҆́ноша се́й, а҆вени́ре; И҆ речѐ а҆вени́ръ: да живе́тъ дѹша̀ твоѧ̀, царю̀, ѩ҆́кѡ не вѣ́мъ.

And the king said, Inquire thou whose son this youth is.

И҆ речѐ ца́рь: вопросѝ ѹ҆̀бо ты̀, чі́й є҆́сть сы́нъ ю҆́ноша се́й;

And as David returned from the slaughter of the Philistine, Abner took him, and brought him before Saul with the head of the Philistine in his hand.

Е҆гда́ же возврати́сѧ даві́дъ по ѹ҆бїе́нїи и҆ноплеме́нника, взѧ̀ є҆го̀ а҆вени́ръ и҆ приведѐ є҆го̀ пред̾ саѹ́ла: глава́ же и҆ноплеме́ннича бѣ̀ въ рѹцѣ̀ є҆гѡ̀.

And Saul said to him, Whose son art thou, young man? And David said, I am the son of thy servant Jesse the Beth-lehemite.

И҆ речѐ къ немѹ̀ саѹ́лъ: чі́й є҆сѝ сы́нъ, ю҆́ноше; И҆ речѐ даві́дъ: сы́нъ раба̀ твоегѡ̀ ї҆ессе́а ѿ виѳлее́ма.
