In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth.

Въ нача́лѣ сотворѝ бг҃ъ не́бо и҆ зе́млю.

The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters.

Землѧ́ же бѣ̀ неви́дима и҆ неѹстро́ена, и҆ тма̀ верхѹ̀ бе́здны, и҆ дх҃ъ бж҃їй ноша́шесѧ верхѹ̀ воды̀.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

И҆ речѐ бг҃ъ: да бѹ́детъ свѣ́тъ. И҆ бы́сть свѣ́тъ.

And God saw that the light was good. And God separated the light from the darkness.

И҆ ви́дѣ бг҃ъ свѣ́тъ, ѩ҆́кѡ добро̀, и҆ разлѹчѝ бг҃ъ междѹ̀ свѣ́томъ и҆ междѹ̀ тмо́ю.

God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And there was evening and there was morning, the first day.

И҆ наречѐ бг҃ъ свѣ́тъ [де́нь], а҆ тмѹ̀ наречѐ [но́щь]. И҆ бы́сть ве́черъ, и҆ бы́сть ѹ҆́тро, де́нь є҆ди́нъ.

And God said, “Let there be an expansea in the midst of the waters, and let it separate the waters from the waters.”

И҆ речѐ бг҃ъ: да бѹ́детъ тве́рдь посредѣ̀ воды̀, и҆ да бѹ́детъ разлѹча́ющи посредѣ̀ воды̀ и҆ воды̀. И҆ бы́сть та́кѡ.

And God madeb the expanse and separated the waters that were under the expanse from the waters that were above the expanse. And it was so.

И҆ сотворѝ бг҃ъ тве́рдь, и҆ разлѹчѝ бг҃ъ междѹ̀ водо́ю, ѩ҆́же бѣ̀ под̾ тве́рдїю, и҆ междѹ̀ водо́ю, ѩ҆́же бѣ̀ над̾ тве́рдїю.

And God called the expanse Heaven.c And there was evening and there was morning, the second day.

И҆ наречѐ бг҃ъ тве́рдь [не́бо]. И҆ ви́дѣ бг҃ъ, ѩ҆́кѡ добро̀. И҆ бы́сть ве́черъ, и҆ бы́сть ѹ҆́тро, де́нь вторы́й.

And God said, “Let the waters under the heavens be gathered together into one place, and let the dry land appear.” And it was so.

И҆ речѐ бг҃ъ: да собере́тсѧ вода̀, ѩ҆́же под̾ небесе́мъ, въ собра́нїе є҆ди́но, и҆ да ѩ҆ви́тсѧ сѹ́ша. И҆ бы́сть та́кѡ. И҆ собра́сѧ вода̀, ѩ҆́же под̾ небесе́мъ, въ собра҄нїѧ своѧ҄, и҆ ѩ҆ви́сѧ сѹ́ша.

God called the dry land Earth,d and the waters that were gathered together he called Seas. And God saw that it was good.

И҆ наречѐ бг҃ъ сѹ́шѹ [зе́млю], и҆ собра҄нїѧ во́дъ наречѐ [морѧ̀]. И҆ ви́дѣ бг҃ъ, ѩ҆́кѡ добро̀.

And God said, “Let the earth sprout vegetation, plantse yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, on the earth.” And it was so.

И҆ речѐ бг҃ъ: да прорасти́тъ землѧ̀ бы́лїе травно́е, сѣ́ющее сѣ́мѧ по ро́дѹ и҆ по подо́бїю, и҆ дре́во плодови́тое творѧ́щее пло́дъ, є҆мѹ́же сѣ́мѧ є҆гѡ̀ въ не́мъ, по ро́дѹ на землѝ. И҆ бы́сть та́кѡ.

The earth brought forth vegetation, plants yielding seed according to their own kinds, and trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

И҆ и҆знесѐ землѧ̀ бы́лїе травно́е, сѣ́ющее сѣ́мѧ по ро́дѹ и҆ по подо́бїю, и҆ дре́во плодови́тое творѧ́щее пло́дъ, є҆мѹ́же сѣ́мѧ є҆гѡ̀ въ не́мъ, по ро́дѹ на землѝ. И҆ ви́дѣ бг҃ъ, ѩ҆́кѡ добро̀.

And there was evening and there was morning, the third day.

И҆ бы́сть ве́черъ, и҆ бы́сть ѹ҆́тро, де́нь тре́тїй.

And God said, “Let there be lights in the expanse of the heavens to separate the day from the night. And let them be for signs and for seasons,f and for days and years,

И҆ речѐ бг҃ъ: да бѹ́дѹтъ свѣти҄ла на тве́рди небе́снѣй, ѡ҆свѣща́ти зе́млю и҆ разлѹча́ти междѹ̀ дне́мъ и҆ междѹ̀ но́щїю: и҆ да бѹ́дѹтъ въ зна́мєнїѧ и҆ во времена̀, и҆ во дни҄ и҆ въ лѣ҄та,

and let them be lights in the expanse of the heavens to give light upon the earth.” And it was so.

и҆ да бѹ́дѹтъ въ просвѣще́нїе на тве́рди небе́снѣй, ѩ҆́кѡ свѣти́ти по землѝ. И҆ бы́сть та́кѡ.

And God made the two great lights — the greater light to rule the day and the lesser light to rule the night — and the stars.

И҆ сотворѝ бг҃ъ два̀ свѣти҄ла вели҄каѧ: свѣти́ло вели́кое въ нача҄ла днѐ, и҆ свѣти́ло ме́ншее въ нача҄ла но́щи, и҆ ѕвѣ́зды:

And God set them in the expanse of the heavens to give light on the earth,

и҆ положѝ ѧ҆̀ бг҃ъ на тве́рди небе́снѣй, ѩ҆́кѡ свѣти́ти на зе́млю,

to rule over the day and over the night, and to separate the light from the darkness. And God saw that it was good.

и҆ владѣ́ти дне́мъ и҆ но́щїю, и҆ разлѹча́ти междѹ̀ свѣ́томъ и҆ междѹ̀ тмо́ю. И҆ ви́дѣ бг҃ъ, ѩ҆́кѡ добро̀.

And there was evening and there was morning, the fourth day.

И҆ бы́сть ве́черъ, и҆ бы́сть ѹ҆́тро, де́нь четве́ртый.

And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birdsg fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.”

И҆ речѐ бг҃ъ: да и҆зведѹ́тъ во́ды га́ды дѹ́шъ живы́хъ, и҆ пти҄цы лета́ющыѧ по землѝ, по тве́рди небе́снѣй. И҆ бы́сть та́кѡ.

So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

И҆ сотворѝ бг҃ъ ки́ты вели҄кїѧ, и҆ всѧ́кѹ дѹ́шѹ живо́тныхъ гадѡ́въ, ѩ҆̀же и҆зведо́ша во́ды по родѡ́мъ и҆́хъ, и҆ всѧ́кѹ пти́цѹ перна́тѹ по ро́дѹ. И҆ ви́дѣ бг҃ъ, ѩ҆́кѡ дѡбра̀.

And God blessed them, saying, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the waters in the seas, and let birds multiply on the earth.”

И҆ блгcвѝ ѧ҆̀ бг҃ъ, гл҃ѧ: расти́тесѧ и҆ мно́житесѧ, и҆ напо́лните во́ды, ѩ҆̀же въ морѧ́хъ, и҆ пти҄цы да ѹ҆мно́жатсѧ на землѝ.

And there was evening and there was morning, the fifth day.

И҆ бы́сть ве́черъ, и҆ бы́сть ѹ҆́тро, де́нь пѧ́тый.

And God said, “Let the earth bring forth living creatures according to their kinds — livestock and creeping things and beasts of the earth according to their kinds.” And it was so.

И҆ речѐ бг҃ъ: да и҆зведе́тъ землѧ̀ дѹ́шѹ жи́вѹ по ро́дѹ, четверонѡ́гаѧ и҆ га́ды, и҆ ѕвѣ҄ри землѝ по ро́дѹ. И҆ бы́сть та́кѡ.

And God made the beasts of the earth according to their kinds and the livestock according to their kinds, and everything that creeps on the ground according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

И҆ сотворѝ бг҃ъ ѕвѣ҄ри землѝ по ро́дѹ, и҆ скоты̀ по ро́дѹ и҆́хъ, и҆ всѧ҄ га́ды землѝ по ро́дѹ и҆́хъ. И҆ ви́дѣ бг҃ъ, ѩ҆́кѡ дѡбра̀.

Then God said, “Let us make manh in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.”

И҆ речѐ бг҃ъ: сотвори́мъ человѣ́ка по ѡ҆́бразѹ на́шемѹ и҆ по подо́бїю, и҆ да ѡ҆блада́етъ ры́бами морски́ми, и҆ пти́цами небе́сными, (и҆ ѕвѣрьмѝ) и҆ скота́ми, и҆ все́ю земле́ю, и҆ всѣ́ми га҄ды пресмыка́ющимисѧ по землѝ.

So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.

И҆ сотворѝ бг҃ъ человѣ́ка, по ѡ҆́бразѹ бж҃їю сотворѝ є҆го̀: мѹ́жа и҆ женѹ̀ сотворѝ и҆̀хъ.

And God blessed them. And God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply and fill the earth and subdue it, and have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over every living thing that moves on the earth.”

И҆ блгⷭвѝ и҆̀хъ бг҃ъ, гл҃ѧ: расти́тесѧ и҆ мно́житесѧ, и҆ напо́лните зе́млю, и҆ госпо́дствѹйте є҆́ю, и҆ ѡ҆блада́йте ры́бами морски́ми, (и҆ ѕвѣрьмѝ) и҆ пти́цами небе́сными, и҆ всѣ́ми скота́ми, и҆ все́ю земле́ю, и҆ всѣ́ми га́дами пресмыка́ющимисѧ по землѝ.

And God said, “Behold, I have given you every plant yielding seed that is on the face of all the earth, and every tree with seed in its fruit. You shall have them for food.

И҆ речѐ бг҃ъ: сѐ, да́хъ ва́мъ всѧ́кѹю травѹ̀ сѣ́меннѹю сѣ́ющѹю сѣ́мѧ, є҆́же є҆́сть верхѹ̀ землѝ всеѧ̀: и҆ всѧ́кое дре́во, є҆́же и҆́мать въ себѣ̀ пло́дъ сѣ́мене сѣ́меннагѡ, ва́мъ бѹ́детъ въ снѣ́дь:

And to every beast of the earth and to every bird of the heavens and to everything that creeps on the earth, everything that has the breath of life, I have given every green plant for food.” And it was so.

и҆ всѣ҄мъ ѕвѣрє́мъ зємны́мъ, и҆ всѣ҄мъ пти́цамъ небє́снымъ, и҆ всѧ́комѹ га́дѹ пресмыка́ющемѹсѧ по землѝ, и҆́же и҆́мать въ себѣ̀ дѹ́шѹ живота̀, и҆ всѧ́кѹ травѹ̀ зеле́нѹ въ снѣ́дь. И҆ бы́сть та́кѡ.

And God saw everything that he had made, and behold, it was very good. And there was evening and there was morning, the sixth day.

И҆ ви́дѣ бг҃ъ всѧ҄, є҆ли҄ка сотворѝ: и҆ сѐ дѡбра̀ ѕѣлѡ̀. И҆ бы́сть ве́черъ, и҆ бы́сть ѹ҆́тро, де́нь шесты́й.
