The vision of Obadiah.Edom Will Be HumbledThus says the Lord God concerning Edom: We have heard a report from the Lord, and a messenger has been sent among the nations: “Rise up! Let us rise against her for battle!”

Видѣ́нїе а҆вді́ино: сїѧ҄ гл҃етъ гд҇ь бг҃ъ ї҆дѹме́и: слѹ́хъ слы́шахъ ѿ гд҇а, и҆звѣ́стїе во ѩ҆зы́ки посла̀: воста́ните, и҆ воста́немъ на ню̀ ра́тїю.

Behold, I will make you small among the nations; you shall be utterly despised.a

Сѐ, ма́ла да́хъ тѧ̀ во ѩ҆зы́цѣхъ, безче́стенъ ты̀ є҆сѝ ѕѣлѡ̀.

The pride of your heart has deceived you, you who live in the clefts of the rock,b in your lofty dwelling, who say in your heart, “Who will bring me down to the ground?”

Презо́рство се́рдца твоегѡ̀ воздви́же тѧ̀ живѹ́щаго въ пеще́рахъ ка́менныхъ: возвыша́ѧй хра́минѹ свою̀, глаго́лѧй въ се́рдцы свое́мъ: кто́ мѧ све́ржетъ на зе́млю;

Though you soar aloft like the eagle, though your nest is set among the stars, from there I will bring you down, declares the Lord.

А҆́ще вознесе́шисѧ ѩ҆́коже ѻ҆ре́лъ и҆ а҆́ще положи́ши гнѣздо̀ твоѐ средѣ̀ ѕвѣ́здъ, и҆ ѿтѹ́дѹ све́ргѹ тѧ̀, гл҃етъ гд҇ь.

If thieves came to you, if plunderers came by night — how you have been destroyed! — would they not steal only enough for themselves? If grape gatherers came to you, would they not leave gleanings?

А҆́ще бы та́тїе влѣ́зли къ тебѣ̀, и҆лѝ разбѡ́йницы но́щїю, ка́мѡ бы пове́рженъ бы́лъ є҆сѝ; є҆да̀ не ѹ҆кра́ли бы дово́лныхъ себѣ̀; и҆лѝ а҆́ще бы ѡ҆б̾е́млющїи вїногра́дъ влѣ́зли къ тебѣ̀, є҆да́ бы не ѡ҆ста́вили гро́здїѧ;

How Esau has been pillaged, his treasures sought out!

Ка́кѡ ѡ҆б̾иска́сѧ и҆са́ѵъ, и҆ взѧ҄та бы́ша сокровє́ннаѧ є҆гѡ̀;

All your allies have driven you to your border; those at peace with you have deceived you; they have prevailed against you; those who eat your breadc have set a trap beneath you — you haved no understanding.

Да́же до предѣ҄лъ и҆спѹсти́ша тѧ̀: всѝ мѹ́жїе завѣ́та твоегѡ̀ сопроти́вишасѧ тѝ, премого́ша тѧ̀ мѹ́жїе ми́рницы твоѝ: (ѩ҆дѹ́щїи съ тобо́ю) положи́ша ле́сть под̾ тобо́ю, нѣ́сть смы́сла въ ни́хъ.

Will I not on that day, declares the Lord, destroy the wise men out of Edom, and understanding out of Mount Esau?

Въ то́й де́нь, гл҃етъ гд҇ь, погѹблю̀ премѹ҄дрыѧ ѿ ї҆дѹме́и и҆ смы́слъ ѿ горы̀ и҆са́ѵовы:

And your mighty men shall be dismayed, O Teman, so that every man from Mount Esau will be cut off by slaughter.

и҆ ѹ҆боѧ́тсѧ во́ини твоѝ, и҆̀же ѿ ѳема҄нъ, да ѿи́метсѧ человѣ́къ ѿ горы̀ и҆са́ѵовы.

Because of the violence done to your brother Jacob, shame shall cover you, and you shall be cut off forever.

Посѣче́нїѧ ра́ди и҆ нече́стїѧ, є҆́же на бра́та твоего̀ ї҆а́кѡва, покры́етъ тѧ̀ стѹ́дъ, и҆ ѿве́рженъ бѹ́деши во вѣ́къ.

On the day that you stood aloof, on the day that strangers carried off his wealth and foreigners entered his gates and cast lots for Jerusalem, you were like one of them.

Ѿ негѡ́же днѐ сопроти́вилсѧ є҆сѝ во дни҄ плѣнѧ́ющихъ и҆ноплеме́нникѡвъ си́лѹ є҆гѡ̀, и҆ чѹжді́и внидо́ша во врата̀ є҆гѡ̀ и҆ ѡ҆ ї҆ер҇ли́мѣ верго́ша жрє́бїѧ, и҆ ты̀ бы́лъ є҆сѝ ѩ҆́кѡ є҆ди́нъ ѿ ни́хъ.

But do not gloat over the day of your brother in the day of his misfortune; do not rejoice over the people of Judah in the day of their ruin; do not boaste in the day of distress.

И҆ да не пре́зриши днѐ бра́та твоегѡ̀ въ де́нь чѹжди́хъ, и҆ да не пора́дѹешисѧ ѡ҆ сынѣ́хъ ї҆ѹ́диныхъ въ де́нь поги́бели и҆́хъ, и҆ да не велерѣ́чиши въ де́нь ско́рби:

Do not enter the gate of my people in the day of their calamity; do not gloat over his disaster in the day of his calamity; do not loot his wealth in the day of his calamity.

и҆ не входѝ во врата̀ люді́й мои́хъ въ де́нь болѣ́зни и҆́хъ, и҆ не пре́зри и҆ ты̀ со́нма и҆́хъ въ де́нь потребле́нїѧ и҆́хъ, и҆ не совѣща́йсѧ на си́лѹ и҆́хъ въ де́нь поги́бели и҆́хъ:

Do not stand at the crossroads to cut off his fugitives; do not hand over his survivors in the day of distress.

нижѐ насто́й на и҆схо́ды и҆́хъ потреби́ти и҆збѣга́ющыѧ и҆́хъ, нижѐ заключа́й бѣжа́щыѧ и҆́хъ въ де́нь ско́рби.

For the day of the Lord is near upon all the nations. As you have done, it shall be done to you; your deeds shall return on your own head.

Поне́же бли́з̾ де́нь гд҇ень на всѧ҄ ѩ҆зы́ки: ѩ҆́коже сотвори́лъ є҆сѝ, си́це бѹ́детъ тѝ, воздаѧ́нїе твоѐ возда́стсѧ на главѹ̀ твою̀.

For as you have drunk on my holy mountain, so all the nations shall drink continually; they shall drink and swallow, and shall be as though they had never been.

Поне́же ѩ҆́коже є҆сѝ пи́лъ на горѣ̀ мое́й ст҃ѣ́й, и҆спїю́тъ всѝ ѩ҆зы́цы вїно̀, и҆спїю́тъ и҆ сни́дѹтъ, и҆ бѹ́дѹтъ ѩ҆́кѡ не бы́вшїи.

But in Mount Zion there shall be those who escape, and it shall be holy, and the house of Jacob shall possess their own possessions.

Въ горѣ́ же сїѡ́ни бѹ́детъ спасе́нїе, и҆ бѹ́детъ свѧта̀: и҆ наслѣ́дѧтъ до́мъ ї҆а́кѡвль наслѣ́дившихъ ѧ҆̀.

The house of Jacob shall be a fire, and the house of Joseph a flame, and the house of Esau stubble; they shall burn them and consume them, and there shall be no survivor for the house of Esau, for the Lord has spoken.

И҆ бѹ́детъ до́мъ ї҆а́кѡвль ѻ҆́гнь, до́мъ же ї҆ѡ́сифовъ пла́мень, а҆ до́мъ и҆са́ѵовъ въ тро́стїе, и҆ возгорѧ́тсѧ на ни́хъ и҆ поѧдѧ́тъ ѧ҆̀, и҆ не бѹ́детъ и҆збѣга́ѧй до́мѹ и҆са́ѵовѹ, ѩ҆́кѡ гд҇ь гл҃а.

Those of the Negeb shall possess Mount Esau, and those of the Shephelah shall possess the land of the Philistines; they shall possess the land of Ephraim and the land of Samaria, and Benjamin shall possess Gilead.

И҆ наслѣ́дѧтъ и҆̀же во наге́вѣ го́рѹ и҆са́ѵовѹ, и҆ и҆̀же въ раздо́лїи и҆ноплеме́нники: и҆ во́змѹтъ го́рѹ є҆фре́мовѹ и҆ по́ле самарі́йско, и҆ венїамі́на и҆ галааді́тїдѹ.

The exiles of this host of the people of Israel shall possess the land of the Canaanites as far as Zarephath, and the exiles of Jerusalem who are in Sepharad shall possess the cities of the Negeb.

И҆ преселе́нїѧ нача́ло сїѐ сынѡ́мъ ї҆и҃лєвымъ, землѧ̀ ханане́йска до саре́пты: преселе́нїе же ї҆ер҇ли́мле до є҆фра́ѳа: и҆ наслѣ́дѧтъ гра́ды наге́вѡвы.

Saviors shall go up to Mount Zion to rule Mount Esau, and the kingdom shall be the Lord’s.

И҆ взы́дѹтъ спаса́емїи ѿ горы̀ сїѡ́ни, є҆́же ѿмсти́ти го́рѹ и҆са́ѵлю, и҆ бѹ́детъ цр҇тво гд҇еви.
