This letter is from Paul, an apostle. I was not appointed by any group of people or any human authority, but by Jesus Christ himself and by God the Father, who raised Jesus from the dead.

Павел, апостол, посланный не людьми, а Иисусом Христом и Богом Отцом, воскресившим Его из мертвых,

All the brothers and sistersa here join me in sending this letter to the churches of Galatia.

и все братья, находящиеся со мной, — церквам Галатии.

May God the Father and our Lord Jesus Christb give you grace and peace.

Пусть с вами будут благодать и мир от Бога Отца нашего и Господа Иисуса Христа,

Jesus gave his life for our sins, just as God our Father planned, in order to rescue us from this evil world in which we live.

который по воле нашего Бога и Отца отдал себя самого за наши грехи, чтобы избавить нас от этого мира зла.

All glory to God forever and ever! Amen.

Ему пусть будет слава во веки веков, аминь!

I am shocked that you are turning away so soon from God, who called you to himself through the loving mercy of Christ.c You are following a different way that pretends to be the Good News

Меня удивляет то, что вы ради какого-то другого Евангелия так быстро оставили Бога, который призвал вас благодатью Христа.

but is not the Good News at all. You are being fooled by those who deliberately twist the truth concerning Christ.

Но другого Евангелия не существует, а просто есть люди, которые пытаются ввести вас в заблуждение, искажая Евангелие Христа!

Let God’s curse fall on anyone, including us or even an angel from heaven, who preaches a different kind of Good News than the one we preached to you.

Но если бы даже мы сами или ангел с неба стали проповедовать вам не то Евангелие, что мы проповедовали вам сначала, то пусть такие вестники будут навеки прокляты!

I say again what we have said before: If anyone preaches any other Good News than the one you welcomed, let that person be cursed.

И еще раз повторяю: мы уже говорили об этом, и вы знаете, что если кто-либо будет проповедовать вам что-то противное тому учению, которое вы приняли, то пусть они будут навеки прокляты!

Obviously, I’m not trying to win the approval of people, but of God. If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant.

Чье одобрение мне нужно: людей или Бога? Может, вы думаете, что я пытаюсь угодить людям? Если бы я к этому стремился, то я не стал бы рабом Христа.

Dear brothers and sisters, I want you to understand that the gospel message I preach is not based on mere human reasoning.

Братья, я хочу, чтобы вы знали, что Евангелие, которое я проповедую, я не сам придумал.

I received my message from no human source, and no one taught me. Instead, I received it by direct revelation from Jesus Christ.d

Я не был научен ему людьми, но я получил его как откровение от Иисуса Христа!

You know what I was like when I followed the Jewish religion — how I violently persecuted God’s church. I did my best to destroy it.

Вы слышали о том, что я раньше был ревностным иудеем. Я изо всех сил преследовал Божью Церковь и пытался погубить ее.

I was far ahead of my fellow Jews in my zeal for the traditions of my ancestors.

В иудаизме я преуспевал более многих моих сверстников. Я был исключительно ревностен, защищая традиции, установленные нашими предками.

But even before I was born, God chose me and called me by his marvelous grace. Then it pleased him

Но когда Бог, избравший меня еще до моего рождения и призвавший меня своей благодатью, захотел

to reveal his Son to mee so that I would proclaim the Good News about Jesus to the Gentiles. When this happened, I did not rush out to consult with any human being.f

открыть мне своего Сына, чтобы я проповедовал Его язычникам, я ни с кем из людей не советовался.

Nor did I go up to Jerusalem to consult with those who were apostles before I was. Instead, I went away into Arabia, and later I returned to the city of Damascus.

Я не ходил в Иерусалим, чтобы встретиться с апостолами, призванными до меня, а сразу же пошел в Aравию и потом возвратился в Дамаск.

Then three years later I went to Jerusalem to get to know Peter,g and I stayed with him for fifteen days.

Потом, через три года, я посетил Иерусалим, познакомился с Кифой и пробыл у него пятнадцать дней.

The only other apostle I met at that time was James, the Lord’s brother.

Я не видел больше никого из апостолов, кроме Иакова, брата Господа.

I declare before God that what I am writing to you is not a lie.

Заверяю вас перед Богом в том, что все, что я пишу вам, это не ложь.

After that visit I went north into the provinces of Syria and Cilicia.

Потом я пошел в Сирию и Киликию,

And still the churches in Christ that are in Judea didn’t know me personally.

а христианские церкви в Иудее меня в то время не знали.

All they knew was that people were saying, “The one who used to persecute us is now preaching the very faith he tried to destroy!”

До них лишь доходили слухи о том, что, мол, тот, кто раньше преследовал нас, сейчас проповедует веру, которую он сам когда-то хотел истребить.

And they praised God because of me.

И они благодарили Бога за меня.
