В прошлом Бог много раз и самым различным образом обращался к нашим предкам через пророков.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets,

В последнее же время Он говорит нам через своего Сына, которого Он поставил наследником всего и через которого Он некогда сотворил вселенную.

Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds;

Сын — сияние славы Отца, точное подобие самой сущности Бога. Он поддерживает существование всей вселенной своим могущественным словом. Очистив нас от наших грехов, Он сел по правую руку Всевышнего на небесах.

Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high;

Он настолько превыше ангелов, насколько имя, которое Он унаследовал, превыше их имен.

Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.

Кому из ангелов Бог когда-либо говорил: "Ты Сын мой, сегодня Я родил Тебя"? Или же: "Я буду Его Отцом, и Он будет моим Сыном"?

For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son?

Вводя во вселенную своего Первенца, Бог говорит: "Пусть все Божьи ангелы поклонятся Ему".

And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him.

Об ангелах Бог говорит: "Он делает ангелов своих ветрами и слуг своих — языками пламени".

And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire.

Но о Сыне говорится: "О Боже! Твой престол вечен, и справедливость — скипетр Твоего Царства.

But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom.

Ты полюбил праведность и возненавидел беззаконие, поэтому, Боже, Бог Твой помазал Тебя маслом радости больше, чем Твоих сотоварищей".

Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

И: "О Господь! Ты заложил основание Земли в начале всего, и небеса — дело Твоих рук.

And, Thou, Lord, in the beginning hast laid the foundation of the earth; and the heavens are the works of thine hands:

Земля и небеса погибнут, но Ты останешься навсегда; они износятся, как одежда,

They shall perish; but thou remainest; and they all shall wax old as doth a garment;

и Ты свернешь их как покрывало; как одежда, они будут сменены на новые. Но Ты неизменен, и Твои годы никогда не придут к концу!"

And as a vesture shalt thou fold them up, and they shall be changed: but thou art the same, and thy years shall not fail.

Кому из ангелов Бог когда-либо сказал: "Сядь по правую руку от Меня, пока Я не положу всех Твоих врагов к Твоим ногам"?

But to which of the angels said he at any time, Sit on my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool?

Разве ангелы — это не служебные духи, посылаемые на службу тем, кому предстоит наследовать спасение?

Are they not all ministering spirits, sent forth to minister for them who shall be heirs of salvation?
