Впрочем, бывали в народе и лжепророки, как и среди вас будут лжеучителя. Они протащат к вам свои губительные ереси, отрекутся от Владыки, Который их приобрел за выкуп — так они навлекут на себя скорую гибель.

But there were also false prophets among the people, just as there will be false teachers among you. They will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the sovereign Lord who bought them — bringing swift destruction on themselves.

И многие последуют за собственным распутством, и из-за таких людей Путь истины подвергнется поруганию.

Many will follow their depraved conduct and will bring the way of truth into disrepute.

В поисках наживы они станут подкупать вас притворными речами — но на самом деле они давно осуждены, не избежать им погибели.

In their greed these teachers will exploit you with fabricated stories. Their condemnation has long been hanging over them, and their destruction has not been sleeping.

Ведь Бог даже ангелов не пощадил, когда они согрешили — заключил их в преисподнюю в оковах мрака и держит там для будущего суда.

For if God did not spare angels when they sinned, but sent them to hell,a putting them in chains of darknessb to be held for judgment;

Он не пощадил и прежний мир и сохранил лишь восьмерых, включая Ноя — вестника праведности, когда навел потоп на мир, населенный нечестивыми.

if he did not spare the ancient world when he brought the flood on its ungodly people, but protected Noah, a preacher of righteousness, and seven others;

И города Содом и Гоморру Бог осудил на уничтожение и испепелил — в пример и назидание нечестивцам.

if he condemned the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah by burning them to ashes, and made them an example of what is going to happen to the ungodly;

Но избавил от гибели праведника Лота, которому опостылело жить среди преступного разврата:

and if he rescued Lot, a righteous man, who was distressed by the depraved conduct of the lawless

мучительно было этой праведной душе видеть и слышать изо дня в день беззаконные дела.

(for that righteous man, living among them day after day, was tormented in his righteous soul by the lawless deeds he saw and heard) —

Да, Господь умеет избавлять праведников от искушений, а неправых Он держит под стражей до дня Суда.

if this is so, then the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from trials and to hold the unrighteous for punishment on the day of judgment.

И прежде всего тех, кто движим грязными плотскими желаниями, кто презирает власти — эти самоуверенные наглецы не боятся бранить прославленных.

This is especially true of those who follow the corrupt desire of the fleshc and despise authority. Bold and arrogant, they are not afraid to heap abuse on celestial beings;

Ангелы превосходят таких людей силой и мощью, но даже они не выносят им обвинительного приговора от имени Господа.

yet even angels, although they are stronger and more powerful, do not heap abuse on such beings when bringing judgment on them fromd the Lord.

Эти люди ругают то, чего не понимают — они как бессмысленные животные, которые по своей природе родятся, чтобы их ловили и губили. И погибнут они так же, как те животные.

But these people blaspheme in matters they do not understand. They are like unreasoning animals, creatures of instinct, born only to be caught and destroyed, and like animals they too will perish.

За свою неправду они получат, что за нее причитается. Они находят удовольствие в забавах при свете дня, и когда они пируют с вами — лишь забавляются собственным обманом вам в осквернение и насмешку.

They will be paid back with harm for the harm they have done. Their idea of pleasure is to carouse in broad daylight. They are blots and blemishes, reveling in their pleasures while they feast with you.e

У них перед глазами только распутство и непрерывные грехи, они охотятся за незрелыми душами, а сердца их привычны к жадности, и ждет их проклятие.

With eyes full of adultery, they never stop sinning; they seduce the unstable; they are experts in greed — an accursed brood!

Оставив прямой путь, они заблудились и подражают Валааму, сыну Восора, который пожелал прибыли от неправедного пророчества.

They have left the straight way and wandered off to follow the way of Balaam son of Bezer,f who loved the wages of wickedness.

И кто же обличил его в беззаконии? Бессловесное животное под седлом заговорило человеческим голосом и остановило безумие пророка.

But he was rebuked for his wrongdoing by a donkey — an animal without speech — who spoke with a human voice and restrained the prophet’s madness.

Эти люди — пересохшие источники, гонимые бурей облака, мрак и тьма уготованы им.

These people are springs without water and mists driven by a storm. Blackest darkness is reserved for them.

Они произносят напыщенную чушь и ловят на приманку телесных желаний тех, кто едва начал отходить от жизни во лжи.

For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error.

Они обещают таким свободу, но сами они рабы погибели, ведь всякий становится рабом того, кто его победил.

They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity — for “people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”

Такие люди познали Господа нашего и Спасителя Иисуса Христа, отошли было от грязи этого мира — но снова запутались и попали к ней в плен, что для них еще хуже прежнего.

If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.

Лучше бы им было никогда не знать пути праведности, чем познать, а потом отказаться от переданной им святой заповеди.

It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.

Вот какая поговорка точно к ним подходит: «пёс к своей блевотине вернулся». И ещё: «отмыли свинью — пошла в грязи валяться».

Of them the proverbs are true: “A dog returns to its vomit,”g and, “A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.”
