Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the unjust, and not before the saints?

Как смеют у вас искать суда друг на друга у неправедных, а не у святого народа?

Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?

Разве для вас новость, что святому народу судить мир? Если же вам судить мир, то не вам ли пристало решать и мелкое дело?

Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?

Разве для вас новость, что мы будем судить ангелов, а житейские дела и подавно?

If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church.

Судить же именно житейские дела вы поручаете людям, далеко отстоящим от церкви.

I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? no, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren?

К вашему стыду приходится мне спросить: найдется ли среди вас хоть кто-нибудь с умом, чтобы рассудить своих же братьев?

But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers.

Нет же, брат брата тянет в суд, и всё перед неверующими.

Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded?

Одно уже то неприглядно, что вы затеваете тяжбу друг с другом. Почему бы вместо этого не стерпеть обиду, не предпочесть быть обобранным?

Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that your brethren.

Нет, вы сами обижаете и обираете, да еще своих же братьев.

Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind,

Разве для вас новость, что люди неправедные Божьего Царства не наследуют? Не обманывайтесь. Ни развратники, ни идолопоклонники, ни женатые гуляки, ни похотливые мужчины, влекущиеся к своему полу,

Nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Ни воры, ни хапуги, ни пьяницы, ни сквернословы, ни жулики Божьего Царства не наследуют.

And such were some of you: but ye are washed, but ye are sanctified, but ye are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and by the Spirit of our God.

Конечно, и среди вас были такие, разве нет? Но вы омылись и святость обрели и оправдались именем Господа Иисуса Христа и Духом нашего Бога.

All things are lawful unto me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but I will not be brought under the power of any.

Все мне позволено? Да, но не все идет мне на пользу. Все мне позволено? Да, но ничто не должно поглощать меня.

Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Яства для чрева и чрево для яств? Да, но Бог истребит и то и другое. Тело — не для разврата, а для Господа, и Господь — для тела.

And God hath both raised up the Lord, and will also raise up us by his own power.

Бог силой Своей воскресил Господа. Воскресит и нас.

Know ye not that your bodies are the members of Christ? shall I then take the members of Christ, and make them the members of an harlot? God forbid.

Разве не знаете, что ваши тела — части тела Христа? Нельзя, чтобы некое тело как часть Христа сделалось проституткой. Нельзя!

What? know ye not that he which is joined to an harlot is one body? for two, saith he, shall be one flesh.

Или вам в новость, что сожитель проститутки — одно с ней тело? Сказано: «Будут двое одной плотью».

But he that is joined unto the Lord is one spirit.

А соединиться с Господом — значит быть с Ним одним духом.

Flee fornication. Every sin that a man doeth is without the body; but he that committeth fornication sinneth against his own body.

Избегайте разврата. Иной грех, совершаемый человеком, минует тело. Но тот, кто предается разврату, грешит против собственного тела.

What? know ye not that your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost which is in you, which ye have of God, and ye are not your own?

Или не знаете, что ваше тело — храм Святого Духа, Его пребывание в вас — от Бога и вы себе не принадлежите?

For ye are bought with a price: therefore glorify God in your body, and in your spirit, which are God's.

Куплены вы за дорогую цену, и ваши тела творят Богу славу.
