Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

Петр, апостол Иисуса Христа — странникам диаспоры в Понте, Галатии, Каппадокии, Азии и Вифинии,

Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

По промыслу Бога Отца в святости Духа избранным к послушанию Иисусу Христу и очищению Его Кровью: милость вам и мир с избытком!

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, which according to his abundant mercy hath begotten us again unto a lively hope by the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead,

Благословен Бог и Отец Господа нашего Иисуса Христа! Он поднял Иисуса Христа из мертвых, а с Ним по великой Своей милости дал и нам вторую жизнь — живую надежду,

To an inheritance incorruptible, and undefiled, and that fadeth not away, reserved in heaven for you,

Наследство, не знающее ни смерти, ни порчи, ни одряхления. Оно для вас хранится на небесах,

Who are kept by the power of God through faith unto salvation ready to be revealed in the last time.

И до спасения, готового открыться в конце времен, сила Божья дает вам убежище — веру.

Wherein ye greatly rejoice, though now for a season, if need be, ye are in heaviness through manifold temptations:

Этому радуйтесь. Лишь на короткое время пребываете ныне в самых разных печальных и тягостных обстоятельствах.

That the trial of your faith, being much more precious than of gold that perisheth, though it be tried with fire, might be found unto praise and honour and glory at the appearing of Jesus Christ:

Огнем проверяют золото. Но ваша вера после всех испытаний окажется много чище хотя и драгоценного, однако небезупречного металла — к восторгу, чести и славе в День возвращения Иисуса Христа.

Whom having not seen, ye love; in whom, though now ye see him not, yet believing, ye rejoice with joy unspeakable and full of glory:

Ничего, что вы Его не видели! Вы Его любите. Ему, не видя Его, но веря, сегодня радуетесь. Неизреченное, возвышенное счастье —

Receiving the end of your faith, even the salvation of your souls.

Вера: по ее смыслу вы обретаете спасение.

Of which salvation the prophets have inquired and searched diligently, who prophesied of the grace that should come unto you:

К разгадке спасения шли в своих поисках пророки. Отсюда возникло их предсказание об уготованной вам благодати.

Searching what, or what manner of time the Spirit of Christ which was in them did signify, when it testified beforehand the sufferings of Christ, and the glory that should follow.

Они доискивались, о каком времени и сроке давал знать живущий в них Дух Христов, когда возвещал о грядущих страданиях и последующей славе Христа.

Unto whom it was revealed, that not unto themselves, but unto us they did minister the things, which are now reported unto you by them that have preached the gospel unto you with the Holy Ghost sent down from heaven; which things the angels desire to look into.

Им открылось тогда, что не для себя, а для вас совершали они служение евангелия, ныне вам возвещенного другими в Святом Духе, посланном с небес, от чего не хотят быть в стороне и ангелы.

Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ;

Задайте работу разуму. Соедините трезвую мысль с безоглядной надеждой на благодать — и дастся вам с возвращением Иисуса Христа.

As obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance:

Как послушные чада, отучайте себя от капризов, царивших в пору невежества.

But as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation;

По примеру призвавшего вас Святого будьте сами святы в жизни.

Because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.

Написано: «Будьте святы, потому что Я свят».

And if ye call on the Father, who without respect of persons judgeth according to every man's work, pass the time of your sojourning here in fear:

Если вы Отцом называете Того, кто нелицеприятно судит каждого по делам, то не без страха Божьего проживите пору скитальчества.

Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers;

Не забывайте, что от манеры растрачивать себя на пустое, унаследованной вами от отцов, вы искуплены не безжизненным серебром или золотом,

But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

А драгоценной Кровью Христа, непорочного, чистого Агнца.

Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

Он промыслом предрешен еще до сотворения мира, но явлен для вас на исходе времени.

Who by him do believe in God, that raised him up from the dead, and gave him glory; that your faith and hope might be in God.

От Него у вас вера в Бога. Бог поднял Его из мертвых и наделил Его славой — так появилась у вас вера и на Бога упование.

Seeing ye have purified your souls in obeying the truth through the Spirit unto unfeigned love of the brethren, see that ye love one another with a pure heart fervently:

Любовью братской, непритворной очищается душа, послушная истине. Всеми силами сердца любите друг друга.

Being born again, not of corruptible seed, but of incorruptible, by the word of God, which liveth and abideth for ever.

Вы заново родились не от смертного семени, а от бессмертного, через Слово Божье, живое, непреходящее.

For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away:

«Люди, живущие жизнь — что трава, и вся их красивая поза — что цвет на лугу. Пожухла трава и осыпался цвет,

But the word of the Lord endureth for ever. And this is the word which by the gospel is preached unto you.

А Слово Господне живет вовеки». Это Слово и есть та самая евангельская весть, с которой вы теперь знакомы.
