The former account I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

Пе́ршую аповесьць, Тэафілю, учыніў я аб усім, што Ісус рабіў ды навучаў

until the day in which [a]He was taken up, after He through the Holy Spirit had given commandments to the apostles whom He had chosen,

да дня, у які ўзьнёсся, даўшы праз Духа Сьвятога загады Апосталам, якіх выбраў,

to whom He also presented Himself alive after His suffering by many [b]infallible proofs, being seen by them during forty days and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God.

ды прад якімі зьяўляўся жывы пасьля мукаў Сваіх у чысьленых зьявах, у працягу сараку дзён паказываючыся ім ды кажучы аб царстве Божым.

And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “which,” He said, “you have heard from Me;

І, сабраўшы іх, загадаў ім не выхадзіць з Ерузаліму, а чакаць на абве́шчанае ад Айца, аб чым вы чулі ад мяне́:

for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now.”

што Іоан хрысьціў вадой, а вы цераз колькі дзён будзеце ахры́шчаны ў Духу Сьвятым.

Therefore, when they had come together, they asked Him, saying, “Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?”

Дык яны, зыйшоўшыся разам, пыталіся ў Яго, кажучы: Госпадзе, ці ня ў гэтым часе адбудуеш царства Ізраілю?

And He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons which the Father has put in His own authority.

Ён жа сказаў да іх: ня вам ве́даць час ці пару́, што Аце́ц паклаў у ўладзе Сваёй;

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be [c]witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

але пры́меце сілу, як зыйдзе на вас Дух Сьвяты, і будзеце Мне́ сьве́дкамі і ў Ерузаліме, і ў-ва ўсе́й Юдэі й Самарыі, ды ажно па край зямлі.

Now when He had spoken these things, while they watched, He was taken up, and a cloud received Him out of their sight.

І, сказаўшы гэтае, Ён узьнёсся перад вачыма іхнімі, і хмара ўзяла Яго ад вачэй іх.

And while they looked steadfastly toward heaven as He went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel,

Калі-ж яны пільна ўглядаліся ў не́ба, як Ён адыходзіў, вось двое мужоў станулі перад імі ў белых вопратках,

who also said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand gazing up into heaven? This same Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will so come in like manner as you saw Him go into heaven.”

дый сказалі яны: Мужы Галіле́йскія! Чаго стаіцё, узіраючыся на не́ба? Гэты Ісус, узяты ад вас на не́ба, прыдзе гэтак сама, як бачылі вы Яго ўзыходзячы на не́ба.

Then they returned to Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is near Jerusalem, a Sabbath day’s journey.

Тады яны вярнуліся ў Ерузалім з гары, называнай Аліўнай, што непадалёк ад Ерузаліму, за дзень суботні ходу.

And when they had entered, they went up into the upper room where they were staying: Peter, James, John, and Andrew; Philip and Thomas; Bartholomew and Matthew; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon the Zealot; and Judas the son of James.

І, увайшоўшы, узыйшлі ў сьвятліцу, дзе́ былі Пётр і Якуб, і Іоан, і Андрэй, Піліп і Хама́, Баўтраме́й ды Мацьве́й, Якуб Алфе́явы й Сымон Зілот, ды Юда Якубаў.

These all continued with one [d]accord in prayer [e]and supplication, with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with His brothers.

Усе́ яны трывалі аднадушна ў малітвах і просьбах разам з жанчынамі й Марыяй, Маткай Ісусавай, ды братамі Ягонымі.

And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the [f]disciples (altogether the number of names was about a hundred and twenty), and said,

І ў гэныя дні Пётр, устаўшы сярод вучняў, сказаў (а была грамада людзей разам каля ста дваццацёх).

“Men and brethren, this Scripture had to be fulfilled, which the Holy Spirit spoke before by the mouth of David concerning Judas, who became a guide to those who arrested Jesus;

Мужы браты! Тое пісаньне, якое праз вусны Давідавыя Дух Сьвяты прадказаў пра Юду, што быў павадыром тых, каторыя ўзялі Ісуса, — мусіла збыцца;

for he was numbered with us and obtained a part in this ministry.”

быў ён палічаны з намі, і лёс вызначыў яму частку ў служэньні гэтым,

(Now this man purchased a field with the [g]wages of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst open in the middle and all his [h]entrails gushed out.

але цаной крыўды прыдбаў ён зямлю і, рынуўшыся, разьдзе́рся папалове, і вывалілася з яго ўсё шлуньне ягонае.

And it became known to all those dwelling in Jerusalem; so that field is called in their own language, Akel Dama, that is, Field of Blood.)

І сталася ве́дама ўсім жы́харам Ерузаліму; дык поле гэнае названа ў іхняй гутарцы Акельдама́, гэта ёсьць зямля крыві.

“For it is written in the Book of Psalms: ‘Let his dwelling place be [i]desolate, And let no one live in it’; and, ‘Let another take his [j]office.’

Бо напісана ў кнізе псальмаў: Няхай станецца двор ягоны пустым, і няхай ніхто ня жыве ў ім, дый: дагляд ад яго возьме другі (Псальм 68:26; 108:8).

“Therefore, of these men who have accompanied us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

Дык трэба, каб із тых мужоў, што зыходзіліся з намі праз уве́сь час, як прыходзіў і адыходзіў ад нас Госпад Ісус,

beginning from the baptism of John to that day when He was taken up from us, one of these must become a witness with us of His resurrection.”

пачынаючы ад хрышчэньня Іоанавага ажно да дня, калі Ён быў узяты ад нас, адзін із іх стаўся-бы разам з намі сьве́дкай уваскрасе́ньня Яго.

And they proposed two: Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

І паставілі двух: Язэпа, званага Варсавай, па мянюшцы Юста, ды Мацьве́я;

And they prayed and said, “You, O Lord, who know the hearts of all, show which of these two You have chosen

і, молячыся, казалі: Ты, Госпадзе, які ве́даеш сэрцы ўсіх, пакажы з гэтых двух аднаго, каго Ты выбраў,

to take part in this ministry and apostleship from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.”

каб узяў частку ў служэньні гэтым і апостальстве, ад якога адступіўся Юда, каб ісьці на сваё ме́сца.

And they cast their lots, and the lot fell on Matthias. And he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

І кінулі жэрабе аб іх, і выпала жэрабе на Мацьве́я, і далучаны быў да адзінаццацёх Апосталаў.
