Через три дня в Кане, в Галилее, был свадебный пир, и мать Иисуса была там.

And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee; and the mother of Jesus was there:

Иисус и Его ученики тоже были приглашены на свадьбу.

And both Jesus was called, and his disciples, to the marriage.

Случилось так, что во время пира кончилось вино, и мать Иисуса тогда сказала Ему: — У них нет вина.

And when they wanted wine, the mother of Jesus saith unto him, They have no wine.

Иисус ответил: — Почему Я должен заботиться об этом? Мое время еще не настало.

Jesus saith unto her, Woman, what have I to do with thee? mine hour is not yet come.

Мать Иисуса сказала слугам: — Делайте, что Он вам скажет.

His mother saith unto the servants, Whatsoever he saith unto you, do it.

Рядом стояло шесть больших каменных сосудов, которые иудеи использовали для обрядовых омовений. В каждый сосуд вмещалось около ста литров воды.

And there were set there six waterpots of stone, after the manner of the purifying of the Jews, containing two or three firkins apiece.

Иисус сказал слугам: — Наполните сосуды водой. Те наполнили их водой до верха.

Jesus saith unto them, Fill the waterpots with water. And they filled them up to the brim.

— A теперь зачерпните, — сказал Он, — и отнесите распорядителю пира. Они так и сделали.

And he saith unto them, Draw out now, and bear unto the governor of the feast. And they bare it.

Тот попробовал воду, ставшую вином. Он не знал, откуда взялось вино, об этом знали только слуги. Распорядитель отозвал в сторону жениха

When the ruler of the feast had tasted the water that was made wine, and knew not whence it was: (but the servants which drew the water knew;) the governor of the feast called the bridegroom,

и упрекнул его: — Все подают вначале вино получше, а потом, когда гости напьются, подают вино похуже. A ты сберегал лучшее вино до сих пор.

And saith unto him, Every man at the beginning doth set forth good wine; and when men have well drunk, then that which is worse: but thou hast kept the good wine until now.

Так в Кане Галилейской Иисус совершил свое первое чудо. Так он проявил свою славу; и Его ученики поверили Ему.

This beginning of miracles did Jesus in Cana of Galilee, and manifested forth his glory; and his disciples believed on him.

После этого Иисус вместе с матерью, братьями и учениками пошел в Капернаум, и там они пробыли несколько дней.

After this he went down to Capernaum, he, and his mother, and his brethren, and his disciples: and they continued there not many days.

Приближалось время иудейской Пасхи, и Иисус пошел в Иерусалим.

And the Jews' passover was at hand, and Jesus went up to Jerusalem,

В храме Он увидел людей, продававших быков, овец и голубей; у столов сидели менялы и меняли деньги.

And found in the temple those that sold oxen and sheep and doves, and the changers of money sitting:

Сделав из веревок плеть, Он стал выгонять из храма всех торговцев, а также овец и быков. Он разбрасывал монеты менял и переворачивал их столы.

And when he had made a scourge of small cords, he drove them all out of the temple, and the sheep, and the oxen; and poured out the changers' money, and overthrew the tables;

— Убирайте это отсюда! — говорил Он продавцам голубей. — Как вы смеете превращать дом Моего Отца в базар!

And said unto them that sold doves, Take these things hence; make not my Father's house an house of merchandise.

Его ученики вспомнили записанное в Писаниях: "Ревность о доме Твоем одолевает Меня".

And his disciples remembered that it was written, The zeal of thine house hath eaten me up.

Тогда иудеи потребовали от Него: — Каким знамением Ты можешь доказать нам, что Ты имеешь право все это делать?

Then answered the Jews and said unto him, What sign shewest thou unto us, seeing that thou doest these things?

Иисус ответил им: — Разрушьте этот храм, и Я в три дня восстановлю его.

Jesus answered and said unto them, Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.

Иудеи ответили: — Этот храм строился сорок шесть лет, а Ты собираешься восстановить его в три дня?

Then said the Jews, Forty and six years was this temple in building, and wilt thou rear it up in three days?

Иисус же имел в виду не здание храма, а свое тело.

But he spake of the temple of his body.

После того, как Иисус воскрес из мертвых, ученики вспомнили Его слова и поверили Писанию и словам Иисуса.

When therefore he was risen from the dead, his disciples remembered that he had said this unto them; and they believed the scripture, and the word which Jesus had said.

Пока Иисус был в Иерусалиме на празднике Пасхи, многие, видя чудеса, которые Он совершал, поверили в Него.

Now when he was in Jerusalem at the passover, in the feast day, many believed in his name, when they saw the miracles which he did.

Иисус же сам не доверялся людям, потому что Он знал всех,

But Jesus did not commit himself unto them, because he knew all men,

и Ему не нужно было знать о человеке по рассказам, потому что Он видел каждого насквозь.

And needed not that any should testify of man: for he knew what was in man.
