— Говорю вам истину: тот, кто входит в овечий загон не через ворота, а проникает другим путем, тот вор и разбойник.

Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.

Но кто входит через ворота, тот настоящий пастух этих овец.

But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.

Сторож открывает ему ворота, и овцы слышат его голос. Он зовет своих овец по именам и выводит их.

To him the porter openeth; and the sheep hear his voice: and he calleth his own sheep by name, and leadeth them out.

Когда он выведет всех своих, то идет впереди них, и овцы идут за ним, потому что знают его голос.

And when he putteth forth his own sheep, he goeth before them, and the sheep follow him: for they know his voice.

Они никогда не пойдут за чужим, они убегут от него, потому что не знают его голоса.

And a stranger will they not follow, but will flee from him: for they know not the voice of strangers.

Иисус использовал такое сравнение, но они не поняли, о чем Он говорил.

This parable spake Jesus unto them: but they understood not what things they were which he spake unto them.

Тогда Иисус сказал: — Говорю вам истину: Я — ворота для овец.

Then said Jesus unto them again, Verily, verily, I say unto you, I am the door of the sheep.

Все, кто приходили до Меня, — воры и разбойники, и овцы их не послушали.

All that ever came before me are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them.

Я — дверь; кто входит через Меня, тот будет спасен. Он сможет входить, и выходить, и найдет пастбище.

I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.

Вор приходит только для того, чтобы украсть, убить и разрушить, а Я пришел, чтобы у них была жизнь, и притом в избытке.

The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

Я добрый пастырь. Добрый пастырь отдает жизнь свою за овец.

I am the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth his life for the sheep.

Наемному пастуху овцы не принадлежат, и когда он видит, что пришел волк, он бросает овец и убегает, и тогда волк хватает овец и разгоняет все стадо.

But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep.

Пастух убегает, потому что он нанят и не заботится об овцах.

The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep.

Я — добрый пастырь. Я знаю своих, и они знают Меня.

I am the good shepherd, and know my sheep, and am known of mine.

Так же и Отец знает Меня, и Я знаю Отца. Я отдаю жизнь Мою за овец.

As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.

У Меня есть и другие овцы, не из этого загона, их Я тоже должен привести. Они тоже будут послушны Моему голосу, и будет одно стадо и один пастырь.

And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear my voice; and there shall be one fold, and one shepherd.

Отец любит Меня потому, что Я отдаю свою жизнь, чтобы потом опять взять ее.

Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.

Никто ее у Меня не может отнять, Я отдаю ее добровольно. У Меня есть власть отдать ее и взять ее опять. Так было Мне определено Моим Отцом.

No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.

После этих слов мнения иудеев опять разделились.

There was a division therefore again among the Jews for these sayings.

Многие говорили: — Он одержимый и бредит, зачем Его слушать?

And many of them said, He hath a devil, and is mad; why hear ye him?

Другие говорили: — Одержимый так бы не говорил. Разве может демон открывать глаза слепым?

Others said, These are not the words of him that hath a devil. Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?

В Иерусалиме наступил праздник Освящения храма. Была зима.

And it was at Jerusalem the feast of the dedication, and it was winter.

Иисус ходил по храму в колоннаде Соломона.

And Jesus walked in the temple in Solomon's porch.

Вокруг Него собрались иудеи. — Сколько Ты еще будешь держать нас в недоумении? — говорили они. — Если Ты Мессия, то так и скажи нам.

Then came the Jews round about him, and said unto him, How long dost thou make us to doubt? If thou be the Christ, tell us plainly.

Иисус ответил: — Я уже говорил вам, но вы не поверили. Обо Мне свидетельствуют дела, которые Я совершаю во имя Моего Отца.

Jesus answered them, I told you, and ye believed not: the works that I do in my Father's name, they bear witness of me.

Вы же не верите Мне потому, что вы не Мои овцы.

But ye believe not, because ye are not of my sheep, as I said unto you.

Мои овцы слышат Мой голос, Я знаю их, и они идут за Мной.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me:

Я даю им жизнь вечную, и они никогда не погибнут, их у Меня никто не отнимет.

And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.

Отец Мой, который дал их Мне, превыше всех, и никто не может забрать их из рук Моего Отца.

My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.

Я и Отец — одно.

I and my Father are one.

Тогда иудеи опять схватили камни, чтобы побить Его,

Then the Jews took up stones again to stone him.

но Иисус сказал им: — Я показал вам много добрых дел от Отца. За какое из них вы хотите побить Меня камнями?

Jesus answered them, Many good works have I shewed you from my Father; for which of those works do ye stone me?

Иудеи ответили: — Мы Тебя не за это хотим побить камнями, а за богохульство, потому что Ты, обыкновенный человек, выдаешь себя за Бога.

The Jews answered him, saying, For a good work we stone thee not; but for blasphemy; and because that thou, being a man, makest thyself God.

Иисус ответил: — Разве в вашем законе не написано: "Я сказал: вы — боги"?

Jesus answered them, Is it not written in your law, I said, Ye are gods?

Если богами названы те, кому было дано слово Божье, а Писание не может быть упразднено,

If he called them gods, unto whom the word of God came, and the scripture cannot be broken;

то как же вы смеете говорить, что тот, кого Бог освятил и послал в мир, богохульствует, потому что Я сказал: "Я Божий Сын"?

Say ye of him, whom the Father hath sanctified, and sent into the world, Thou blasphemest; because I said, I am the Son of God?

Если Я не делаю то же, что делает Мой Отец, — не верьте Мне.

If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not.

Если же Я совершаю дела Моего Отца, то даже если вы не верите Моим словам, верьте делам, чтобы вы поняли и знали, что Отец во Мне и Я в Нем.

But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.

Они опять попытались схватить Его, но Иисус не дался им.

Therefore they sought again to take him: but he escaped out of their hand,

Затем Иисус отправился на другую сторону Иордана, туда, где Иоанн раньше крестил, и там оставался.

And went away again beyond Jordan into the place where John at first baptized; and there he abode.

Там к Нему приходило много людей. — Хотя Иоанн и не совершал знамений, но все, что Иоанн говорил об этом человеке, верно, — говорили они.

And many resorted unto him, and said, John did no miracle: but all things that John spake of this man were true.

И многие там поверили в Иисуса.

And many believed on him there.
