Тогда Пилат приказал бить Иисуса.

Then Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him.

Солдаты сплели из веток терновника венок и надели его на голову Иисусу. Они одели Его в красную мантию,

And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe,

подходили к Нему с возгласами: — Да здравствует иудейский царь! — и били Его по лицу.

And said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.

Пилат вышел еще раз и сказал иудеям: — Смотрите! Вот, я вывожу Его еще раз, чтобы вы убедились, что я не нахожу в Нем никакой вины.

Pilate therefore went forth again, and saith unto them, Behold, I bring him forth to you, that ye may know that I find no fault in him.

— Вот, человек, — сказал Пилат, когда Иисус вышел в терновом венке и в пурпурной мантии.

Then came Jesus forth, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe. And Pilate saith unto them, Behold the man!

Как только первосвященники и стража увидели Его, они закричали: — Распни! Распни Его! Но Пилат ответил: — Берите Его сами и распинайте, я же не нахожу в Нем никакой вины.

When the chief priests therefore and officers saw him, they cried out, saying, Crucify him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Take ye him, and crucify him: for I find no fault in him.

Иудеи настаивали: — У нас есть закон, и по нашему закону Он должен умереть, потому что называет себя Сыном Божьим!

The Jews answered him, We have a law, and by our law he ought to die, because he made himself the Son of God.

Услышав это, Пилат еще больше испугался.

When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he was the more afraid;

Он опять вошел во дворец и спросил Иисуса: — Откуда Ты? Но Иисус не отвечал ему.

And went again into the judgment hall, and saith unto Jesus, Whence art thou? But Jesus gave him no answer.

— Ты что, отказываешься говорить со мной? — сказал Пилат. — Неужели Ты не понимаешь, что у меня есть власть освободить Тебя или распять!

Then saith Pilate unto him, Speakest thou not unto me? knowest thou not that I have power to crucify thee, and have power to release thee?

Иисус ответил: — У тебя не было бы надо Мной никакой власти, если бы она не была дана тебе небом. Поэтому на том, кто предал Меня тебе, больший грех.

Jesus answered, Thou couldest have no power at all against me, except it were given thee from above: therefore he that delivered me unto thee hath the greater sin.

С этого момента Пилат искал возможности освободить Иисуса, но иудеи продолжали кричать: — Если ты отпустишь этого человека, то ты не друг императору. Каждый, кто заявляет, что он царь, — враг императору!

And from thenceforth Pilate sought to release him: but the Jews cried out, saying, If thou let this man go, thou art not Caesar's friend: whosoever maketh himself a king speaketh against Caesar.

Когда Пилат это услышал, он вывел Иисуса, сел в судейское кресло на месте, называемом Каменный Помост, по-еврейски Гаввафа.

When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus forth, and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called the Pavement, but in the Hebrew, Gabbatha.

Была пятница перед Пасхой, около двенадцати часов дня. — Вот ваш царь, — сказал Пилат иудеям.

And it was the preparation of the passover, and about the sixth hour: and he saith unto the Jews, Behold your King!

Они закричали: — Уведи Его вон! Вон! Распни Его! — Распять вашего царя? — спросил Пилат. — У нас нет царя, кроме императора, — отвечали первосвященники.

But they cried out, Away with him, away with him, crucify him. Pilate saith unto them, Shall I crucify your King? The chief priests answered, We have no king but Caesar.

В конце концов Пилат отдал им Иисуса на распятие. Они взяли Иисуса.

Then delivered he him therefore unto them to be crucified. And they took Jesus, and led him away.

Неся свой крест, Иисус пошел на Лобное место, по-еврейски называемое Голгофа.

And he bearing his cross went forth into a place called the place of a skull, which is called in the Hebrew Golgotha:

Там Иисуса распяли, а с Ним, по обе стороны, еще двоих; Иисус был в середине.

Where they crucified him, and two other with him, on either side one, and Jesus in the midst.

Пилат приказал приготовить табличку и прикрепить ее на кресте: "Иисус из Назарета — иудейский царь", — было написано на табличке.

And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross. And the writing was, JESUS OF NAZARETH THE KING OF THE JEWS.

Надпись эту читало много иудеев, так как место распятия Иисуса было близко к городу, а написано было по-еврейски, по-латыни и по-гречески.

This title then read many of the Jews: for the place where Jesus was crucified was nigh to the city: and it was written in Hebrew, and Greek, and Latin.

Начальники иудеев возразили Пилату: — Напиши не "иудейский царь", а напиши, что Он заявляет, будто Он иудейский царь.

Then said the chief priests of the Jews to Pilate, Write not, The King of the Jews; but that he said, I am King of the Jews.

— Что я написал, то написал, — ответил Пилат.

Pilate answered, What I have written I have written.

Когда воины распяли Иисуса, они взяли Его верхнюю одежду и разделили на четыре части, каждому по одной. Хитон Иисуса был без швов, сотканный целиком.

Then the soldiers, when they had crucified Jesus, took his garments, and made four parts, to every soldier a part; and also his coat: now the coat was without seam, woven from the top throughout.

— Не будем его рвать, — решили они, — бросим лучше жребий и посмотрим, кому он достанется. Это случилось для того, чтобы исполнилось сказанное в Писании: "Они разделили между собой Мои ризы и бросали жребий о Моей одежде". Солдаты это исполнили.

They said therefore among themselves, Let us not rend it, but cast lots for it, whose it shall be: that the scripture might be fulfilled, which saith, They parted my raiment among them, and for my vesture they did cast lots. These things therefore the soldiers did.

Недалеко от креста Иисуса стояли Его мать, сестра матери, Мария — жена Клеопы и Мария из Магдалы.

Now there stood by the cross of Jesus his mother, and his mother's sister, Mary the wife of Cleophas, and Mary Magdalene.

Иисус увидел свою мать и своего любимого ученика, стоявшего рядом с ней. — Вот твой сын, — сказал Иисус матери.

When Jesus therefore saw his mother, and the disciple standing by, whom he loved, he saith unto his mother, Woman, behold thy son!

Своему же ученику Он сказал: — Вот твоя мать. С этого времени ученик этот взял ее к себе в дом.

Then saith he to the disciple, Behold thy mother! And from that hour that disciple took her unto his own home.

Иисус знал, что все уже совершилось, и чтобы исполнилось Писание, сказал: — Хочу пить.

After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that the scripture might be fulfilled, saith, I thirst.

Там стоял кувшин с кислым вином, и солдаты, обмакнув в него губку, надели ее на стебель иссопа и подняли к губам Иисуса.

Now there was set a vessel full of vinegar: and they filled a spunge with vinegar, and put it upon hyssop, and put it to his mouth.

Иисус попробовал вино и сказал: — Совершилось! Сказав это, Он уронил голову на грудь и умер.

When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said, It is finished: and he bowed his head, and gave up the ghost.

Был день приготовления к субботе, и иудеи не хотели, чтобы тела оставались на крестах в субботу, тем более, что эта суббота была днем великого праздника. Поэтому они попросили Пилата перебить распятым ноги и снять их тела с крестов.

The Jews therefore, because it was the preparation, that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the sabbath day, (for that sabbath day was an high day,) besought Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.

Солдаты пришли и перебили ноги сначала одному распятому, затем другому.

Then came the soldiers, and brake the legs of the first, and of the other which was crucified with him.

Когда же они подошли к Иисусу, то увидели, что Он уже мертв, и не стали перебивать Его ног.

But when they came to Jesus, and saw that he was dead already, they brake not his legs:

Вместо этого один из солдат пронзил копьем бок Иисуса, и из него сразу же потекли кровь и вода.

But one of the soldiers with a spear pierced his side, and forthwith came there out blood and water.

Тот, кто сам это видел, свидетельствует об этом, чтобы и вы поверили. Его свидетельство истинно, и он знает, что говорит правду.

And he that saw it bare record, and his record is true: and he knoweth that he saith true, that ye might believe.

Все это произошло, чтобы исполнились слова Писания: "Ни одна из Его костей не будет переломлена".

For these things were done, that the scripture should be fulfilled, A bone of him shall not be broken.

И в другом месте Писания говорится: "Они будут смотреть на того, которого пронзили".

And again another scripture saith, They shall look on him whom they pierced.

После этого Иосиф из Аримафеи попросил Пилата отдать ему тело Иисуса. Иосиф был учеником Иисуса, но тайным, из страха перед иудеями. С позволения Пилата он пришел и забрал тело.

And after this Joseph of Arimathaea, being a disciple of Jesus, but secretly for fear of the Jews, besought Pilate that he might take away the body of Jesus: and Pilate gave him leave. He came therefore, and took the body of Jesus.

С Иосифом был Никодим, который как-то приходил к Иисусу ночью. Никодим принес около тридцати килограммов смеси из мирры и алоэ.

And there came also Nicodemus, which at the first came to Jesus by night, and brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about an hundred pound weight.

Они сняли тело Иисуса и завернули его вместе с бальзамом в пелены из льняной ткани. Таков был еврейский погребальный обычай.

Then took they the body of Jesus, and wound it in linen clothes with the spices, as the manner of the Jews is to bury.

Там, где Иисуса распяли, был сад, и в саду — новая гробница, в которой еще никого не хоронили.

Now in the place where he was crucified there was a garden; and in the garden a new sepulchre, wherein was never man yet laid.

Так как был день приготовления к Пасхе, а гробница оказалась поблизости, они положили там Иисуса.

There laid they Jesus therefore because of the Jews' preparation day; for the sepulchre was nigh at hand.
