Першую кнігу я напісаў, Тэафіле, пра ўсё, што рабіў Езус і чаму вучыў ад пачатку

The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

аж да дня, калі, даўшы праз Духа Святога наказы Апосталам, якіх выбраў, быў забраны на неба.

Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

Перад імі з’явіўся жывым пасля сваёй мукі ў шматлікіх доказах. На працягу сарака дзён аб’яўляўся ім і казаў пра Божае Валадарства.

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

Калі разам елі, Ён загадаў ім: «Не адыходзьце з Ерузалема, але чакайце абяцанага Айцом, пра што вы чулі ад Мяне:

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

Ян хрысціў вадою, а вы будзеце ахрышчаныя праз некалькі дзён Духам Святым».

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

Таму сабраныя пыталіся ў Яго: «Пане, ці не ў гэтым часе Ты адбудуеш каралеўства Ізраэля?»

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

Ён жа адказаў ім: «Не вам ведаць часы ці поры, якія Айцец прызначыў сваёй уладай.

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

Але прымеце моц Духа Святога, які на вас сыдзе, і будзеце Маімі сведкамі ў Ерузалеме, ва ўсёй Юдэі і ў Самарыі, і ажно да краю зямлі».

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Калі сказаў гэта, яны ўбачылі, як Ён узнёсся, і воблака забрала Яго з іхніх вачэй.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

Калі яны пільна ўзіраліся ў неба, як Ён узыходзіў, два мужы сталі перад імі ў белым адзенні

And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

і сказалі: «Галілейцы, чаго стаіце і ўглядаецеся ў неба? Гэты Езус, забраны ад вас на неба, прыйдзе гэтак жа, як вы бачылі Яго, калі Ён узыходзіў на неба».

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

Тады вярнуліся ў Ерузалем з гары, называнай Аліўнай, што непадалёк ад Ерузалема, на адлегласці шабатовай дарогі.

Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

А калі прыйшлі, падняліся ў святліцу, дзе былі Пётр і Ян, Якуб і Андрэй, Філіп і Тамаш, Барталамей і Мацвей, Якуб Алфееў, Сымон Зелот і Юда Якубаў.

And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

Усе яны аднадушна трывалі ў малітве разам з жанчынамі і Марыяй, маці Езуса, і з братамі Ягонымі.

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

У тыя дні Пётр стаў сярод вучняў, а сабралася разам каля ста дваццаці чалавек, і сказаў:

And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

«Браты, належала споўніцца словам Пісання, якія Дух Святы прадказаў вуснамі Давіда пра Юду, стаўшага правадыром для тых, хто схапіў Езуса.

Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

Бо ён быў залічаны да нас і атрымаў удзел у тым самым служэнні.

For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

За плату беззаконня ён набыў поле, калі ўпаў ніцма, трэснуў пасярэдзіне, і вывалілася ўсё яго нутро.

Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

Даведаліся пра гэта ўсе жыхары Ерузалема, таму поле гэтае на іх уласнай мове было названа Акелдама, што значыць «поле крыві».

And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

Бо ў кнізе Псальмаў напісана: «Няхай апусцее жыллё ягонае і няхай не будзе жыхароў у ім». І яшчэ: «Пасаду ягоную няхай зойме іншы».

For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

Таму трэба, каб з тых мужоў, якія былі з намі ўвесь час, калі заставаўся з намі Пан Езус,

Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

пачынаючы ад Янавага хросту аж да дня, калі Ён быў забраны ад нас на неба, адзін стаў разам з намі сведкам Яго ўваскрасення».

Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

І паставілі двух: Юзафа, якога звалі Барсабам, а празывалі Юстам, і Мацея.

And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

Памаліўшыся, сказалі: «Ты, Пане, ведаеш сэрцы ўсіх, пакажы з гэтых двух аднаго, якога Ты выбраў,

And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

каб ён заняў месца ў гэтым служэнні і апостальстве, ад якога адышоў Юда, каб пайсці ў сваё месца».

That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

Калі далі ім лёсы, выпаў лёс на Мацея, і ён быў далучаны да адзінаццаці Апосталаў.

And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.
