Старшы — любоваму Ґаю, каторага я люблю запраўды.

The Elder, To the beloved Gaius, whom I love in truth:

Умілаваны! зычу, каб у вусім ты добра меўся і здаровы быў, таксама як душа твая добра маецца.

Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.

Бо я вельма ўсьцешыўся, як прышлі браты й пасьветчылі праўду тваю, як ты жывеш у праўдзе.

For I rejoiced greatly when brethren came and testified of the truth that is in you, just as you walk in the truth.

Імне няма большае радасьці, як чуць, што дзеці мае жывуць у праўдзе.

I have no greater joy than to hear that my children walk in [a]truth.

Умілаваны! верна робіш тым, што чыніш братом і падарожным,

Beloved, you do faithfully whatever you do for the brethren [b]and for strangers,

Каторыя сьветчаць перад царквою празь міласьць тваю. Ты добра зробіш, калі адпусьціш іх, як годна ў Богу,

who have borne witness of your love before the church. If you send them forward on their journey in a manner worthy of God, you will do well,

Бо дзеля Імені Ягонага яны пайшлі, ня ўзяўшы нічога ад паган.

because they went forth for His name’s sake, taking nothing from the Gentiles.

Дык мы маем гасьцінна прыймаць таковых, каб быць супрацаўнямі праўды.

We therefore ought to receive[c] such, that we may become fellow workers for the truth.

Я пісаў штось царкве, але Дыётрэф, каторы любе быць першым у іх, ня прыймае нас.

I wrote to the church, but Diotrephes, who loves to have the preeminence among them, does not receive us.

Затым, калі я прыйду, я прыпомню ўчынкі ягоныя, каторыя ён чыне, гукаючы на нас благія словы, і, ня маючы гэтага досыць, і сам ня прыймае братоў, і тых, што хацелі б, узьдзержуе й выганяе з царквы.

Therefore, if I come, I will call to mind his deeds which he does, prating[d] against us with malicious words. And not content with that, he himself does not receive the brethren, and forbids those who wish to, putting them out of the church.

Умілаваны! не пераймай благога, але добрае. Хто робе дабро, тый з Бога; хто робе ліха, тый ня бачыў Бога.

Beloved, do not imitate what is evil, but what is good. He who does good is of God, [e]but he who does evil has not seen God.

Празь Зьмітру пасьветчана ўсімі і самою праўдаю; сьветчым таксама й мы, і вы ведаеце, што сьветчаньне наша праўдзіва.

Demetrius has a good testimony from all, and from the truth itself. And we also [f]bear witness, and you know that our testimony is true.

Шмат я меў пісаць, але не хачу пісаць да цябе чэрняю й пяром,

I had many things to write, but I do not wish to write to you with pen and ink;

А спадзяюся ўборзьдзе бачыць цябе, і будзем мужаваць вуснамі да вуснаў.

but I hope to see you shortly, and we shall speak face to face. Peace to you. Our friends greet you. Greet the friends by name.

Супакой табе; паздаровай прыяцеляў, паздаровай прыяцеляў наймя.
