Провожатый ввел меня в Храм1 и измерил косяки2 стен по ту и по другую сторону от входа: по шесть локтей.

Then he brought me to the nave and measured the side pillars; six cubits wide on each side was the width of the side pillar.

Сам вход был десять локтей шириной, и стены были по пять локтей с той и другой стороны от входа. А зал за входом был сорок локтей в длину и двадцать в ширину.

The width of the entrance was ten cubits and the sides of the entrance were five cubits on each side. And he measured the length of the nave, forty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits.

Он прошел ко входу в следующую комнату, измерив косяки этого входа: они были по два локтя. С той и другой стороны от входа были стены по семь локтей, а сам вход был шириной шесть локтей.

Then he went inside and measured each side pillar of the doorway, two cubits, and the doorway, six cubits high; and the width of the doorway, seven cubits.

Он измерил эту комнату: двадцать локтей в длину и двадцать в ширину, как и в первом зале. Он пояснил мне: «Это — Святая святых».3

He measured its length, twenty cubits, and the width, twenty cubits, before the nave; and he said to me, “This is the most holy place.”

Он измерил толщину храмовых стен. Она составила шесть локтей. Вокруг Храма располагались боковые комнаты в четыре локтя шириной.

Then he measured the wall of the temple, six cubits; and the width of the side chambers, four cubits, all around about the house on every side.

Эти комнаты находились одна над другой, в три яруса, по тридцать в каждом ярусе. 4 Стена Храма со всех сторон имела уступы, которые поддерживали перекрытия комнат. Эти перекрытия не были встроены внутрь стены Храма.

The side chambers were in three stories, one above another, and thirty in each story; and the side chambers extended to the wall which stood on their inward side all around, that they might be fastened, and not be fastened into the wall of the temple itself.

Винтовые лестницы,5 ведущие к боковым комнатам, расширялись от яруса к ярусу. Проходя сквозь средний ярус, они соединяли верхний ярус с нижним. И так как всё строение было обвито этими винтовыми лестницами и они расширялись от яруса к ярусу, ширина Храма увеличивалась кверху.6

The side chambers surrounding the temple were wider at each successive story. Because the structure surrounding the temple went upward by stages on all sides of the temple, therefore the width of the temple increased as it went higher; and thus one went up from the lowest story to the highest by way of the second story.

Я увидел, что вокруг Храма был сооружен высокий помост, высотой в одну трость (то есть шесть локтей), он служил основанием и для боковых комнат со всех сторон.

I saw also that the house had a raised platform all around; the foundations of the side chambers were a full rod of six long cubits in height.

[9-10] Внешняя стена боковых комнат была в пять локтей толщиной. Между внешней стеной боковых комнат Храма7 и служебными помещениями оставалось открытое пространство в двадцать локтей со всех сторон Храма.

The thickness of the outer wall of the side chambers was five cubits. But the free space between the side chambers belonging to the temple

and the outer chambers was twenty cubits in width all around the temple on every side.

Входы в боковые комнаты были со стороны этого открытого пространства, в одни комнаты — с северной стороны, а в другие — с южной. Ширина этого открытого пространства — пять локтей со всех сторон.

The doorways of the side chambers toward the free space consisted of one doorway toward the north and another doorway toward the south; and the width of the free space was five cubits all around.

С западной стороны за этим открытым пространством было отдельное строение, его ширина внутри — семьдесят локтей, длина — девяносто, а все стены были по пять локтей толщиной.

The building that was in front of the separate area at the side toward the west was seventy cubits wide; and the wall of the building was five cubits thick all around, and its length was ninety cubits.

Он измерил Храм — сто локтей в длину. Пространство за Храмом вместе с отдельным строением (учитывая толщину его стен) было сто локтей,

Then he measured the temple, a hundred cubits long; the separate area with the building and its walls were also a hundred cubits long.

и пространство перед входом в Храм, с восточной стороны, было тоже шириной в сто локтей.

Also the width of the front of the temple and that of the separate areas along the east side totaled a hundred cubits.

Он измерил строение, которое располагалось напротив открытого пространства позади Храма — сто локтей в длину. С той и с другой стороны строения располагались галереи. Первый зал внутри Храма и его внутренняя комната, а также притвор, выходящий во двор,

He measured the length of the building along the front of the separate area behind it, with a gallery on each side, a hundred cubits; he also measured the inner nave and the porches of the court.

и ниши, и пороги, и круговая трехъярусная галерея боковых комнат были обшиты деревом от пола до окон (это были глухие окна).

The thresholds, the latticed windows and the galleries round about their three stories, opposite the threshold, were paneled with wood all around, and from the ground to the windows (but the windows were covered),

До самой дверной притолоки в Храме и в наружном, и во внутреннем помещениях на равных расстояниях

over the entrance, and to the inner house, and on the outside, and on all the wall all around inside and outside, by measurement.

были сделаны изображения херувимов и пальм: по пальме между двумя херувимами. У херувимов было по два лица:

It was carved with cherubim and palm trees; and a palm tree was between cherub and cherub, and every cherub had two faces,

с одной стороны на пальму смотрело человеческое лицо, а с другой — львиное. Эти резные изображения располагались со всех сторон Храма.

a man’s face toward the palm tree on one side and a young lion’s face toward the palm tree on the other side; they were carved on all the house all around.

Херувимы и пальмы покрывали стену от самого пола и до дверной притолоки.

From the ground to above the entrance cherubim and palm trees were carved, as well as on the wall of the nave.

Вход в большой зал был с квадратными косяками, и так же выглядел вход в Святилище.8

The doorposts of the nave were square; as for the front of the sanctuary, the appearance of one doorpost was like that of the other.

Жертвенник был деревянным, три локтя высотой, по два локтя в ширину и в длину. Его рога, основание9 и стенки были деревянными. Провожатый сказал мне: «Вот стол, стоящий пред ГОСПОДОМ».

The altar was of wood, three cubits high and its length two cubits; its corners, its base and its sides were of wood. And he said to me, “This is the table that is before the LORD.”

В Храм, как и в Святилище, что внутри Храма, вели двойные двери.

The nave and the sanctuary each had a double door.

Каждая дверная створка состояла из двух частей, обе они поворачивались на петлях.

Each of the doors had two leaves, two swinging leaves; two leaves for one door and two leaves for the other.

Над дверями в Храм были изображены херувимы и пальмы, точно так, как на стенах. Над входом в притвор Храма с наружной стороны был деревянный навес.

Also there were carved on them, on the doors of the nave, cherubim and palm trees like those carved on the walls; and there was a threshold of wood on the front of the porch outside.

На боковых стенах притвора с той и с другой стороны были утопленные в стену окна с изображениями пальм на косяках. Над боковыми комнатами тоже был навес.

There were latticed windows and palm trees on one side and on the other, on the sides of the porch; thus were the side chambers of the house and the thresholds.
