Do we begin again to commend ourselves? or do we need, as some, commendatory letters to you, or [commendatory] from you?

Неужели нам снова знакомиться с вами? Неужели нужны для нас, как для некоторых, одобрительные письма к вам или от вас?

Ye are our letter, written in our hearts, known and read of all men,

Вы — наше письмо, написанное в сердцах наших, узнаваемое и читаемое всеми людьми;

being manifested to be Christ's epistle ministered by us, written, not with ink, but [the] Spirit of [the] living God; not on stone tables, but on fleshy tables of [the] heart.

вы показываете собой, что вы — письмо Христово, через служение наше написанное не чернилами, но Духом Бога живого, не на скрижалях каменных, но на плотяных скрижалях сердца.

And such confidence have we through the Christ towards God:

Такую уверенность мы имеем в Боге через Христа,

not that we are competent of ourselves to think anything as of ourselves, but our competency [is] of God;

не потому, чтобы мы сами способны были помыслить что-либо от себя, как бы от себя, но способность наша — от Бога.

who has also made us competent, [as] ministers of [the] new covenant; not of letter, but of spirit. For the letter kills, but the Spirit quickens.

Он дал нам способность быть служителями нового завета, не буквы, но духа, потому что буква убивает, а дух животворит.

(But if the ministry of death, in letters, graven in stones, began with glory, so that the children of Israel could not fix their eyes on the face of Moses, on account of the glory of his face, [a glory] which is annulled;

Если же служение смертоносным буквам, начертанное на камнях, было так славно, что сыны Израилевы не могли смотреть на лицо Моисея по причине славы лица его преходящей,

how shall not rather the ministry of the Spirit subsist in glory?

то не гораздо ли более должно быть славно служение духа?

For if the ministry of condemnation [be] glory, much rather the ministry of righteousness abounds in glory.

Ибо если служение осуждения славно, то тем более изобилует славой служение оправдания.

For also that [which was] glorified is not glorified in this respect, on account of the surpassing glory.

Таким образом, то прославленное даже не оказывается славным по причине превосходящей славы последующего.

For if that annulled [was introduced] with glory, much rather that which abides [subsists] in glory.

Ибо, если преходящее славно, тем более славно пребывающее.

Having therefore such hope, we use much boldness:

Имея такую надежду, мы действуем с великим дерзновением,

and not according as Moses put a veil on his own face, so that the children of Israel should not fix their eyes on the end of that annulled.

а не так, как Моисей, который полагал покрывало на лицо свое, чтобы сыны Израилевы не взирали на конец преходящего.

But their thoughts have been darkened, for unto this day the same veil remains in reading the old covenant, unremoved, which in Christ is annulled.

Но умы их ослеплены, ибо то же самое покрывало доныне остается не снятым при чтении Ветхого Завета, потому что оно снимается Христом.

But unto this day, when Moses is read, the veil lies upon their heart.

Доныне, когда они читают Моисея, покрывало лежит на сердце их;

But when it shall turn to [the] Lord, the veil is taken away.)

но когда обращаются к Господу, тогда это покрывало снимается.

Now the Lord is the Spirit, but where the Spirit of [the] Lord [is, there is] liberty.

Господь есть Дух; а где Дух Господень, там свобода.

But we all, looking on the glory of the Lord, with unveiled face, are transformed according to the same image from glory to glory, even as by [the] Lord [the] Spirit.

Мы же все открытым лицом, как в зеркале, взирая на славу Господню, преображаемся в тот же образ от славы в славу Господним Духом.
