Ко мне пришли несколько старейшин Израиля и присели, чтобы поговорить со мной.

And there came certain of the elders of Israel unto me, and sat before me.

И тогда Господь обратился ко мне с такими словами:

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

«Сын человеческий, эти люди пришли тебя уговаривать, чтобы ты спросил у Меня совета, но они до сих пор поклоняются грязным идолам, которые склоняли их к грехам. Так почему же они пришли ко Мне за советом? Должен ли Я ответить на их вопросы?

Son of man, these men have set up their idols in their heart, and put the stumbling-block of their iniquity before their face: should I be inquired of at all by them?

Но Я отвечу им! Ты им должен сказать, что Господь Всемогущий так говорит: „Кто приходит к пророку за советом Господа, тому ответит не пророк, а Я Сам отвечу на вопросы, отвечу, даже если он всё ещё поклоняется грязному идолу и продолжает служить ему. Я буду говорить с таким человеком, невзирая на его грязных идолов.

Therefore speak to them, and say unto them, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Every man of the house of Israel that setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumbling-block of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet, I Jehovah will answer him according to this, according to the multitude of his idols:

Это случится потому, что Я хочу тронуть их сердца, хочу показать им Мою любовь, несмотря на то что они покинули Меня ради грязных идолов”.

that I may take the house of Israel by their own heart, because they are all estranged from me through their idols.

Поэтому скажи всё это семье Израиля, скажи им, что Господь Всемогущий им говорит: „Вернитесь ко мне и оставьте идолов, отвернитесь от лжебогов.

Therefore say unto the house of Israel, Thus saith the Lord Jehovah: Return ye, and turn yourselves from your idols; and turn away your faces from all your abominations.

И если любой из семьи Израиля или же чужеземец, живущий в Израиле, придёт ко Мне за советом, то Я отвечу ему, даже если он до сих пор служит идолам и поклоняется им. Таков будет Мой ответ ему:

For every one of the house of Israel, or of the strangers that sojourn in Israel, who separateth himself from me, and setteth up his idols in his heart, and putteth the stumbling-block of his iniquity before his face, and cometh to the prophet to inquire of me by him, I Jehovah will answer him by myself;

„Я обернусь против такого человека и уничтожу его. Он станет примером для других людей, станет посмешищем для всех. Я исключу его из Моего народа, и тогда вы узнаете, что Я — Господь.

and I will set my face against that man, and will make him desolate, [so that he shall be] for a sign and for proverbs, and I will cut him off from the midst of my people: and ye shall know that I [am] Jehovah.

И если пророк настолько глуп, чтобы вместо Меня дать совет, то Я покажу ему глупость его. Я уничтожу его силой Своей и исключу из Моего народа Израиля.

And if the prophet be enticed and shall speak a word, I Jehovah have enticed that prophet; and I will stretch out my hand against him, and will destroy him from the midst of my people Israel.

И тот, кто пришёл за советом к пророку, и сам пророк — оба получат одинаковое наказание.

And they shall bear their iniquity: the iniquity of the prophet shall be even as the iniquity of the inquirer;

Почему же всё так произойдёт? Чтобы пророки перестали уводить Мой народ от Меня, а Мои люди прекратили осквернять себя грехами и стали Моими избранными людьми. Только тогда Я буду их Богом”». Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

that the house of Israel may go no more astray from me, neither make themselves any more unclean with all their transgressions; and they shall be my people, and I will be their God, saith the Lord Jehovah.

И вновь ко мне было слово Господа. Он сказал:

And the word of Jehovah came unto me, saying,

«Сын человеческий, Я накажу любой народ, который меня покидает и грешит против Меня. Я лишу их хлеба и пошлю на них голод. Я уничтожу и людей, и животных, живущих в этой стране.

Son of man, when a land sinneth against me by working unfaithfulness, and I stretch out my hand upon it, and break the staff of the bread thereof, and send famine upon it, and cut off man and beast from it;

Я мог бы наказать эту землю, даже если бы там жили Ной, Даниил и Иов. Своей праведностью они сберегут собственные жизни, но не смогут спасти всю страну». Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

though these three men, Noah, Daniel, and Job, should be in it, they should deliver [but] their own souls by their righteousness, saith the Lord Jehovah.

Он сказал: «Я мог бы послать диких зверей на эту землю, и они истребили бы всех людей. И никто не пришёл бы в эту страну, потому что они боялись бы диких зверей.

If I cause evil beasts to pass through the land, and they bereave it, and it become a desolation, so that no one passeth through because of the beasts;

Если бы Ной, Даниил и Иов жили там, Я спас бы их. Эти три человека могли бы спасти свои жизни, но не могли бы спасти других. Так же верно, как то, что Я жив, даже их дети в этой земле, наполненной злобой, были бы уничтожены». Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

-- though these three men should be in it, [as] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters: they only should be delivered, and the land should be a desolation.

Бог сказал: «Или Я мог бы наслать армию врагов на эту страну, войны, которые уничтожили бы её, а также всех людей и животных, живущих в ней.

Or [if] I bring the sword upon that land, and say, Sword, go through the land, so that I cut off man and beast from it,

Если бы Ной, Даниил и Иов жили там, они спасли бы только собственные жизни. Так же верно, как то, что Я жив, эти три человека не могли бы спасти жизни других людей, даже своих детей! И эта земля, наполненная злобой, была бы уничтожена». Так сказал Господь Всемогущий:

and these three men should be in it, [as] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither sons nor daughters, but they only themselves should be delivered.

«Или Я послал бы на эту землю болезни. Я изолью Свой гнев на них и убью всех людей и животных.

Or [if] I send a pestilence into that land, and pour out my fury upon it in blood, to cut off from it man and beast,

Так же верно, как то, что Я жив, если бы Ной, Даниил и Иов жили там, то они могли бы спасти свои жизни, но не смогли бы спасти жизни других людей, даже своих детей». Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

and Noah, Daniel, and Job should be in it, [as] I live, saith the Lord Jehovah, they should deliver neither son nor daughter: they should [but] deliver their own souls by their righteousness.

Затем Господь сказал: «Подумайте, как плохо будет Иерусалиму. Я пошлю ему все четыре наказания: вражескую армию, болезнь, голод и диких зверей, которые уничтожат всех людей и животных, живущих в этой стране.

For thus saith the Lord Jehovah: How much more when I send my four sore judgments upon Jerusalem, the sword, and the famine, and the evil beast, and the pestilence, to cut off from it man and beast!

Некоторые избегут погибели и приведут к вам своих сыновей и дочерей, и вы поймёте, как им плохо, и утешитесь теми бедами, которые Я послал на Иерусалим.

But behold, there shall be left in it those that escape, who shall be brought out of [it], sons and daughters. Behold, they shall come forth unto you, and ye shall see their way and their doings; and ye shall be comforted concerning the evil that I have brought upon Jerusalem, as to all that I have brought upon it.

Вы увидите их поступки и всё плохое, что делают они, а затем поймёте, что Я не зря наказал этих людей». Так сказал Господь Всемогущий.

And they shall comfort you, when ye see their way and their doings; and ye shall know that I have not done without cause all that I have done in it, saith the Lord Jehovah.
