The former treatise have I made, O Theophilus, of all that Jesus began both to do and teach,

Першае апавяданьне, о Тэахвіле, (я) напісаў пра ўсё, што Ісус рабіў і чаму навучаў,

Until the day in which he was taken up, after that he through the Holy Ghost had given commandments unto the apostles whom he had chosen:

аж па той дзень (у які) быў узьнесены, даўшы праз Духа Сьвятога наказы Апосталам, якіх (Ён) выбраў,

To whom also he shewed himself alive after his passion by many infallible proofs, being seen of them forty days, and speaking of the things pertaining to the kingdom of God:

якім і зьявіў Сябе жывым пасьля пакуты Сваёй са многімі доказамі, на праця́гу сарака дзён зьяўляючыся ім ды кажучы пра Валадарства Бога.

And, being assembled together with them, commanded them that they should not depart from Jerusalem, but wait for the promise of the Father, which, saith he, ye have heard of me.

І сабраўшы (іх) загадаў ім: зь Ярузаліму ня выходзіць, але чакаць абяцаньне Ба́цькі, якое (вы) чулі ад Мяне;

For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.

бо Яан хрысьціў у вадзе, а вы будзеце ахрышчаны ў Духу Сьвятым пасьля прашэсьця нямногіх гэтых дзён.

When they therefore were come together, they asked of him, saying, Lord, wilt thou at this time restore again the kingdom to Israel?

Дык яны, зыйшоўшыся ра́зам, пыталіся ў Яго, кажучы: Госпадзе! ці ня ў гэтым часе аднаўляеш (Ты) Валадарства Ізраэлю?

And he said unto them, It is not for you to know the times or the seasons, which the Father hath put in his own power.

А (Ён) сказаў ім: ня вам ведаць (канкрэтныя) часы ды (канкрэтныя) по́ры, якія Бацька паклаў ва Ўладзе Сваёй.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.

Але (вы) прымеце сілу зыйшоўшага на вас Сьвятога Духа, і будзеце Мне сьведкамі ў Ярузаліме і ва ўсёй Юдэі і Самары, і нават да краю зямлі.

And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.

І сказаўшы гэта (Ён) быў узьнесены на вачах у іх, і воблака ўзяло Яго з вачэй іхных.

And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;

І калі (яны) углядаліся на неба падчас ушэсьця Ягонага, і вось два мужчыны станулі перад імі ў белым адзеньні,

Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.

якія і сказалі: мужчыны галілейцы! што (вы) стаіце і глядзіце на неба? Гэты Ісус, забраны ад вас на Неба, прыйдзе такім жа чынам, як (вы) бачылі Яго ўзыходзячым на Неба.

Then returned they unto Jerusalem from the mount called Olivet, which is from Jerusalem a sabbath day's journey.

Тады (яны) вярнуліся ў Ярузалім з гары называнай Аліваў, што непадалёк ад Ярузаліму ў (адлегласьці) суботняга ходу.

And when they were come in, they went up into an upper room, where abode both Peter, and James, and John, and Andrew, Philip, and Thomas, Bartholomew, and Matthew, James the son of Alphaeus, and Simon Zelotes, and Judas the brother of James.

І калі прыйшлі, падняліся ў верхні пакой, дзе і засталіся: Пётра і Якуб і Яан, і Андрэй, Піліп і Хама, Барталамей і Мацьвей, Якуб Алхвеяў і Сымон Зілот, ды Юда, (брат) Якуба.

These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication, with the women, and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brethren.

Усе яны аднадушна былі ў малітве і маленьні (разам) з жанчынамі ды з Марыляю, маткай Ісусавай ды з братамі Ягонымі.

And in those days Peter stood up in the midst of the disciples, and said, (the number of names together were about an hundred and twenty,)

І ў гэныя дні Пётра, устаўшы пасярод вучняў, сказаў — а была грамада людзей разам каля ста дваццацёх:

Men and brethren, this scripture must needs have been fulfilled, which the Holy Ghost by the mouth of David spake before concerning Judas, which was guide to them that took Jesus.

мужчыны браты! належала споўніцца Пісаньню гэтаму, якое прадказаў Дух Сьвяты праз вусны Давідавыя пра Юду, які стаў павадыром тых, што схапілі Ісуса,

For he was numbered with us, and had obtained part of this ministry.

бо (ён) быў залічаны да нас і атрымаў удзел у служэньні гэтым,

Now this man purchased a field with the reward of iniquity; and falling headlong, he burst asunder in the midst, and all his bowels gushed out.

ён жа атрымаў зямлю як узнагароду за няправеднасьць і раздуўшыся рынуўся, і лопнуў жывот (ягоны), і вываліліся ўсе вантробы ягоныя.

And it was known unto all the dwellers at Jerusalem; insomuch as that field is called in their proper tongue, Aceldama, that is to say, The field of blood.

І стала вядомым (гэта) усім жыхара́м Ярузаліму, так што зямля тая на іхняй роднай гаворцы завецца Акельдама́, што значыць зямля крыві.

For it is written in the book of Psalms, Let his habitation be desolate, and let no man dwell therein: and his bishoprick let another take.

Бо напíсана ў Кнізе Псальмаў: хай двор ягоны стане пустым, і няхай ніхто ня жыве ў ім; і: пасад ягоны хай прыйме іншы.

Wherefore of these men which have companied with us all the time that the Lord Jesus went in and out among us,

Дык трэба, каб із тых мужчын, што былі з намі праз увесь час, як прыходзіў і адыходзіў ад нас Госпад Ісус,

Beginning from the baptism of John, unto that same day that he was taken up from us, must one be ordained to be a witness with us of his resurrection.

пачаўшы ад хрышчэньня Яанавага ажно да дня, калі (Ён) быў узьнесены ад нас, — які быў разам з намі сьведкай уваскрасе́ньня Ягонага, — (выбраць) аднаго зь іх.

And they appointed two, Joseph called Barsabas, who was surnamed Justus, and Matthias.

І паставілі двух: Язэпа, званага Барсабай, празванага Юстам, і Мацьвія

And they prayed, and said, Thou, Lord, which knowest the hearts of all men, shew whether of these two thou hast chosen,

і, памаліўшыся, (яны) сказалі: Ты, Госпадзе, Які ведаеш сэрца ўсіх, пакажы з гэтых двух аднаго, каго (Ты) выбраў

That he may take part of this ministry and apostleship, from which Judas by transgression fell, that he might go to his own place.

прыняць удзел у служэньні гэтым і Апо́стальстве, ад якога адступіўся Юда, каб ісьці ў сваё мейсца.

And they gave forth their lots; and the lot fell upon Matthias; and he was numbered with the eleven apostles.

І кінулі жэрабе аб іх, і выпала жэрабе на Мацьвія, і (ён) быў далучаны да адзінаццацёх Апосталаў.
