A prophecy concerning Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.

Прысуд на Нініву. Кніга бачання Навума Эльцэзэя.

The Lord is a jealous and avenging God; the Lord takes vengeance and is filled with wrath. The Lord takes vengeance on his foes and vents his wrath against his enemies.

Бог, рупліва апякуючы і помслівы Госпад, мае абурэнне; і помсціць Госпад ворагам Сваім, і спаганяе гнеў на непрыяцелях Сваіх.

The Lord is slow to anger but great in power; the Lord will not leave the guilty unpunished. His way is in the whirlwind and the storm, and clouds are the dust of his feet.

Госпад цярплівы і магутны моцаю, Госпад не пакіне нікога без пакарання. Праз буру і віхуру шлях Яго, і хмары — пыл ног Яго.

He rebukes the sea and dries it up; he makes all the rivers run dry. Bashan and Carmel wither and the blossoms of Lebanon fade.

Забароніць Ён мору — і яно высыхае, і ўсе рэкі Ён ператварае ў пустыню. Млее Басан і Кармэль, і вяне кветка Лібана.

The mountains quake before him and the hills melt away. The earth trembles at his presence, the world and all who live in it.

Дрыжаць горы перад Ім, і ўзгоркі трывожацца; і зямля трасецца перад абліччам Яго, і сусвет ды ўсе, пражываючыя ў ім.

Who can withstand his indignation? Who can endure his fierce anger? His wrath is poured out like fire; the rocks are shattered before him.

Хто ўстаіць перад гневам Яго, і хто сцерпіць полымя абурэння Яго? Гнеў Яго разліваецца, як агонь, і скалы разбураюцца перад Ім.

The Lord is good, a refuge in times of trouble. He cares for those who trust in him,

Добры ёсць Госпад — прытулак у дзень бяды і спагадны тым, што на Яго спадзяюцца;

but with an overwhelming flood he will make an end of Nineveh; he will pursue his foes into the realm of darkness.

і ў бушуючым патопе Ён знішчыць ворагаў Сваіх, і непрыяцеляў Яго будзе пераследаваць цемра.

Whatever they plot against the Lord he will bringa to an end; trouble will not come a second time.

Што думаеце вы супраць Госпада? Ён выканае знішчэнне; не паўторыцца бяда.

They will be entangled among thorns and drunk from their wine; they will be consumed like dry stubble.b

Як густыя церні, сплеценыя між сабою, ды як горкія п’яніцы, так яны цалкам спалены будуць, як сухая салома.

From you, Nineveh, has one come forth who plots evil against the Lord and devises wicked plans.

З цябе выйшаў той, хто задумаў ліха супраць Госпада, спланаваўшы ліхія намеры.

This is what the Lord says: “Although they have allies and are numerous, they will be destroyed and pass away. Although I have afflicted you, Judah, I will afflict you no more.

Вось гэта кажа Госпад: «Хоць яны бяспечныя і шматлікія, аднак будуць яны таксама пасечаны і загінуць; Я табе чыніў шкоду і не буду чыніць табе шкоду болей.

Now I will break their yoke from your neck and tear your shackles away.”

І цяпер паламаю Я прут яго, што на спіне тваёй, і разарву твае путы».

The Lord has given a command concerning you, Nineveh: “You will have no descendants to bear your name. I will destroy the images and idols that are in the temple of your gods. I will prepare your grave, for you are vile.”

І загадае Госпад адносна цябе: «Не будзе болей патомства з імем тваім. З дома бога твайго выкіну выразаныя і літыя выявы; прыгатую табе магілу, бо ты абняславіўся».

Look, there on the mountains, the feet of one who brings good news, who proclaims peace! Celebrate your festivals, Judah, and fulfill your vows. No more will the wicked invade you; they will be completely destroyed.c

Вось, на гарах ногі вестуна, што супакой абвяшчае. Святкуй, Юда, свае ўрачыстасці і выканай свае абяцанні, бо не пройдзе ўжо больш праз цябе Бэліял: ён дарэшты знішчаны.
