Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the command of God our Savior and of Christ Jesus our hope,

Паўла, Апостал Ісуса Хрыста, па загадзе Бога, Збаўцы нашага, і Госпада Ісуса Хрыста, нашай надзеі,

To Timothy my true son in the faith: Grace, mercy and peace from God the Father and Christ Jesus our Lord.

Цімафею, сапраўднаму сыну ў веры: ласка, міласэрнасць і супакой ад Бога Айца нашага і Хрыста Ісуса, Госпада нашага.

As I urged you when I went into Macedonia, stay there in Ephesus so that you may command certain people not to teach false doctrines any longer

Я, ідучы ў Мацэдонію, прасіў цябе застацца ў Эфесе, каб загадаў некаторым не вучыць іншаму,

or to devote themselves to myths and endless genealogies. Such things promote controversial speculations rather than advancing God’s work — which is by faith.

а таксама не займацца байкамі і радаводамі бясконца, якія выклікаюць больш спрэчак, чым настаўлення Божага ў веры.

The goal of this command is love, which comes from a pure heart and a good conscience and a sincere faith.

Мэтай жа прыказання ёсць любоў з чыстага сэрца, і добрага сумлення, і няўяўнай веры,

Some have departed from these and have turned to meaningless talk.

адвярнуўшыся ад чаго, некаторыя звярнуліся да пустаслоўя,

They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.

хочучы быць настаўнікамі закону, хоць не разумеюць, што гавораць і што сцвярджаюць.

We know that the law is good if one uses it properly.

Ведаем, што закон добры, калі ім хто законна карыстаецца,

We also know that the law is made not for the righteous but for lawbreakers and rebels, the ungodly and sinful, the unholy and irreligious, for those who kill their fathers or mothers, for murderers,

ведаючы, што закон устаноўлены не для справядлівага, але для несправядлівых і непаслухмяных, бязбожных і грэшнікаў, разбэшчаных і паганых, бацьказабойцаў і мацізабойцаў, чалавеказабойцаў,

for the sexually immoral, for those practicing homosexuality, for slave traders and liars and perjurers — and for whatever else is contrary to the sound doctrine

для распуснікаў, мужаложнікаў, людакрадаў, брахуноў, крывапрысяжнікаў і супраць усяго іншага, што пярэчыць здаровай навуцы,

that conforms to the gospel concerning the glory of the blessed God, which he entrusted to me.

паводле Евангелля славы дабраславёнага Бога, якое мне даручана.

I thank Christ Jesus our Lord, who has given me strength, that he considered me trustworthy, appointing me to his service.

Дзякую Таму, Хто мяне ўзмацняе, Хрысту Ісусу, Госпаду нашаму, бо Ён палічыў мяне верным, ставячы на служэнне,

Even though I was once a blasphemer and a persecutor and a violent man, I was shown mercy because I acted in ignorance and unbelief.

мяне, які раней блюзніў, пераследаваў і ачарняў, але памілаваны, бо дзейнічаў па несвядомасці і з нявер’я.

The grace of our Lord was poured out on me abundantly, along with the faith and love that are in Christ Jesus.

Ласка ж Госпада нашага вылілася шчодра з вераю і любоўю, якая ў Ісусе Хрысце.

Here is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance: Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners — of whom I am the worst.

Вернае слова і вартае ўсякага прыняцця: Хрыстос Ісус прыйшоў на свет, каб збавіць грэшнікаў, з якіх я — першы,

But for that very reason I was shown mercy so that in me, the worst of sinners, Christ Jesus might display his immense patience as an example for those who would believe in him and receive eternal life.

але памілаваны дзеля таго, каб ува мне першым выявіў Хрыстос Ісус усю доўгацярплівасць на паказ тым, што павераць Яму на жыццё вечнае.

Now to the King eternal, immortal, invisible, the only God, be honor and glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Валадару ж бессмяротнаму вякоў, нябачнаму, адзінаму, мудраму Богу ўшанаванне і слава на векі вечныя. Амін.

Timothy, my son, I am giving you this command in keeping with the prophecies once made about you, so that by recalling them you may fight the battle well,

Гэты загад даю табе, сыне Цімафею, паводле ранейшых адносна цябе прароцтваў, каб ты вёў разам з імі добрае змаганне,

holding on to faith and a good conscience, which some have rejected and so have suffered shipwreck with regard to the faith.

маючы веру і чыстае сумленне, якое страціўшы, некаторыя адступіліся ад веры,

Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to Satan to be taught not to blaspheme.

з якіх Гіменэй і Аляксандра, якіх я аддаў шатану, каб навучыліся не блюзніць.
