Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and our brother Sosthenes,

Паўла, з волі Божай пакліканы Апостал Ісуса Хрыста, ды брат Састэн

To the church of God in Corinth, to those sanctified in Christ Jesus and called to be his holy people, together with all those everywhere who call on the name of our Lord Jesus Christ — their Lord and ours:

Божай царкве, што ў Карынце, асвечаным у Ісусе Хрысце ды пакліканым святым разам з усімі, што прызываюць імя Госпада нашага Ісуса Хрыста ў кожным месцы, у іх ды ў нас:

Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

ласка вам і супакой ад Бога Айца нашага і Госпада Ісуса Хрыста.

I always thank my God for you because of his grace given you in Christ Jesus.

Дзякую заўсёды за вас Богу майму, за ласку Божую, дадзенаю вам у Хрысце Ісусе,

For in him you have been enriched in every way — with all kinds of speech and with all knowledge —

бо ў Ім вы ва ўсім сталіся багатымі, усякім словам і ўсякім веданнем,

God thus confirming our testimony about Christ among you.

бо сведчанне Хрыстова ўмацавалася ў вас,

Therefore you do not lack any spiritual gift as you eagerly wait for our Lord Jesus Christ to be revealed.

так што не маеце ніякай нястачы ласкі ў чаканні аб’яўлення Госпада нашага Ісуса Хрыста,

He will also keep you firm to the end, so that you will be blameless on the day of our Lord Jesus Christ.

Які і ўмацуе вас да канца, каб былі без заганы ў дзень Госпада нашага Ісуса Хрыста.

God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.

Верны Бог, Якім вы пакліканы да супольнасці з Сынам Яго Ісусам Хрыстом, Госпадам нашым.

I appeal to you, brothers and sisters,a in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought.

Браты, у імя Госпада нашага Ісуса Хрыста малю вас, каб усе вы гаварылі адно і каб не было сярод вас падзелаў, каб вы былі дасканалымі, аднаго духа і аднае думкі.

My brothers and sisters, some from Chloe’s household have informed me that there are quarrels among you.

Бо тыя, што ў Хлоі, паведамілі мне пра вас, браты мае, што здараюцца між вамі спрэчкі.

What I mean is this: One of you says, “I follow Paul”; another, “I follow Apollos”; another, “I follow Cephasb”; still another, “I follow Christ.”

Я кажу тое, што кожны ў вас кажа: «Я Паўлаў», «Я Апалосаў», «Я Кіфаў», «А я Хрыстоў».

Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Were you baptized in the name of Paul?

Ці ж Хрыстос падзяліўся? Ці ж Паўла быў за вас укрыжаваны? Ці ў імя Паўлы вы ахрышчаны?

I thank God that I did not baptize any of you except Crispus and Gaius,

Дзякую Богу, што, апрача Крыспа і Гая, я нікога з вас не ахрысціў,

so no one can say that you were baptized in my name.

каб ніхто не казаў, што я хрысціў у маё імя.

(Yes, I also baptized the household of Stephanas; beyond that, I don’t remember if I baptized anyone else.)

Праўда, ахрысціў я таксама дом Сцяпана. А больш не ведаю, ці ахрысціў яшчэ каго.

For Christ did not send me to baptize, but to preach the gospel — not with wisdom and eloquence, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power.

Бо не паслаў мяне Хрыстос хрысціць, але несці добрую вестку; не ў мудрасці слова, каб не адмяніць крыжа Хрыстова.

For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.

Бо слова крыжа для тых, што ідуць у пагібель, ёсць вар’яцтва, а тым, што ідуць у збаўленне, — сіла Божая.

For it is written: “I will destroy the wisdom of the wise; the intelligence of the intelligent I will frustrate.”c

Бо напісана: «Загублю мудрасць мудрых і кемлівасць разумных знішчу».

Where is the wise person? Where is the teacher of the law? Where is the philosopher of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?

Дзе мудрэц? Дзе кніжнік? Дзе даследчык гэтага веку? Ці не зрабіў Бог мудрасць гэтага свету дурнотай?

For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not know him, God was pleased through the foolishness of what was preached to save those who believe.

Калі ж свет мудрасцю не пазнаў Бога ў мудрасці Божай, дык спадабалася Богу праз вар’яцтва прапаведніцтва збавіць веруючых.

Jews demand signs and Greeks look for wisdom,

Бо юдэі дамагаюцца знакаў, і грэкі шукаюць мудрасці;

but we preach Christ crucified: a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,

а мы прапаведуем Хрыста ўкрыжаванага, Які для юдэяў — згаршэнне, а для паганаў — вар’яцтва,

but to those whom God has called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.

для тых жа, што пакліканы, ці з юдэяў, ці з грэкаў, Хрыстос — моц Божая ды мудрасць Божая.

For the foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength.

Бо тое, што неразумнае ў Бога, мудрэйшае за людзей, а што кволае ў Бога — мацнейшае за людзей.

Brothers and sisters, think of what you were when you were called. Not many of you were wise by human standards; not many were influential; not many were of noble birth.

Дык вы, браты, паглядзіце на ваша пакліканне, што няшмат з вас мудрых паводле цела, нямнога магутных, няшмат высакародных;

But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong.

але Бог выбраў неразумнае свету, каб пасароміць мудрых, і кволае свету, каб пасароміць магутных,

God chose the lowly things of this world and the despised things — and the things that are not — to nullify the things that are,

і невысакароднае свету, і пагарджанае выбраў Бог, і тое, што нікчэмнае, каб знішчыць тое, што нечым ёсць,

so that no one may boast before him.

каб ніводнае цела не выхвалялася перад Богам.

It is because of him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God — that is, our righteousness, holiness and redemption.

Дзякуючы Яму і вы ёсць у Хрысце Ісусе, Які ад Бога стаўся для нас мудрасцю, справядлівасцю, пасвячэннем і адкупленнем,

Therefore, as it is written: “Let the one who boasts boast in the Lord.”d

каб было, як напісана: «Хто хваліцца, хай Госпадам хваліцца».
