In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

Спачатку стварыў Бог неба і зямлю.

Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Зямля была пустая і неабжытая; і цемра над абліччам бяздоння, і Дух Божы ўзносіўся над водамі.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

І сказаў Бог: «Хай станецца святло!» І сталася святло.

God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

І бачыў Бог, што святло было добрае, і раздзяліў Бог святло і цемру.

God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning — the first day.

І назваў Бог святло днём, а цемру — ноччу. І мінуў вечар, і мінула раніца — дзень першы.

And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.”

Потым сказаў Бог: «Хай станецца цвярдыня сярод водаў і хай аддзеліць воды ад водаў».

So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so.

І зрабіў Бог цвярдыню, і аддзяліў воды, якія былі пад цвярдыняй, ад тых, якія былі над цвярдыняй. І сталася гэтак.

God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning — the second day.

І назваў Бог цвярдыню небам. І мінуў вечар, і мінула раніца — дзень другі.

And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so.

Сказаў зноў Бог: «Хай збяруцца воды, якія пад небам, у адно месца, і хай з’явіцца сухмень». І сталася гэтак.

God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.

І назваў Бог сухмень зямлёю, а сабранне водаў назваў морамі. І бачыў Бог, што гэта добра.

Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.

Дык сказаў Бог: «Хай родзіць зямля зелень, і траву, што дае насенне, і дрэва пладаноснае, што дае плод па гатунку сваім, насенне якога — у сабе [самім] на зямлі». І сталася гэтак.

The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

І выдала зямля траву зялёную і траву, якая прыносіць насенне па гатунку сваім, і дрэвы, якія даюць плады і маюць у сабе насенне паводле гатунку свайго. І бачыў Бог, што гэта добра.

And there was evening, and there was morning — the third day.

І мінуў вечар, і мінула раніца — дзень трэці.

And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,

Потым сказаў Бог: «Хай з’явяцца свяцілы на цвярдыні неба, каб аддзялялі дзень ад ночы, і хай будуць на знакі часоў, і дзён, і гадоў,

and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.

каб свяцілі на цвярдыні неба і асвятлялі зямлю». І сталася гэтак.

God made two great lights — the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

І стварыў Бог два свяцілы велізарныя: свяціла большае, каб валадарыла над днём, і свяціла меншае, каб валадарыла над ноччу, і зоркі.

God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth,

І размясціў іх Бог на цвярдыні неба, каб свяцілі яны на зямлю,

to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.

і валадарылі над днём і ноччу, і аддзялялі святло ад цемры. І бачыў Бог, што гэта добра.

And there was evening, and there was morning — the fourth day.

І мінуў вечар, і мінула раніца — дзень чацвёрты.

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”

Сказаў таксама Бог: «Хай народзяць воды паўзуноў, жывыя істоты, і птушкі хай лётаюць над зямлёй пад цвярдыняй неба».

So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

І стварыў Бог вялізных марскіх жывёл і ўсялякую істоту жывую і рухавую, якую нараджаюць воды, паводле гатункаў сваіх, і ўсялякіх птушак паводле роду свайго. І бачыў Бог, што гэта добра.

God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”

І дабраславіў іх Бог, кажучы: «Расціце і размнажайцеся, і запаўняйце воды мора, а птушкі хай размнажаюцца над зямлёю».

And there was evening, and there was morning — the fifth day.

І мінуў вечар, і мінула раніца — дзень пяты.

And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so.

Сказаў таксама Бог: «Хай выдасць зямля жывую істоту ў родзе сваім: жывёл, і паўзуноў, і звяроў зямных паводле гатункаў сваіх». І сталася гэтак.

God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

І стварыў Бог звяроў зямных па гатунках сваіх, і жывёлу паводле гатункаў сваіх, і ўсякіх паўзуноў зямных у родзе сваім. І бачыў Бог, што гэта добра.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,a and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Дык сказаў Бог: «Учыньма чалавека на вобраз і падобнасць Нашу; і хай валадараць яны над рыбамі марскімі і птушкамі паднебнымі, і звярамі, і над усёй зямлёй і над усякім паўзуном, які рухаецца па зямлі».

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

І стварыў Бог чалавека на вобраз Свой; на вобраз Бога стварыў яго: мужчынам і жанчынай стварыў іх.

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

І дабраславіў іх Бог, і сказаў ім Бог: «Расціце і размнажайцеся, і запаўняйце зямлю, і падпарадкоўвайце яе сабе, і валадарце над рыбамі марскімі і птушкамі паднебнымі, ды ўсім жывым, што рухаецца па зямлі».

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

Потым сказаў Бог: «Вось, Я даў вам усякую траву, што дае насенне па ўсёй зямлі, і ўсялякія дрэвы, што маюць у сабе плод дрэва, што прыносіць насенне, каб былі вам на ежу.

And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground — everything that has the breath of life in it — I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

І ўсім жывунам на зямлі, усякай птушцы паднебнай, ды ўсім, што рухаюцца па зямлі і ў якіх ёсць жывая існасць, Я даў усякую траву зялёную на ежу». І сталася гэтак.

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning — the sixth day.

І бачыў Бог усё, што стварыў, і вось, было яно вельмі добрае. І мінуў вечар, і мінула раніца — дзень шосты.
