In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.

В начале Бог сотворил небо и землю.

Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.

Земля была пустынна, ничего не было на земле. Тьма скрывала океан, над водами носился Дух Божий.

And God said, “Let there be light,” and there was light.

И тогда Бог сказал: "Да будет свет!", и воссиял свет.

God saw that the light was good, and he separated the light from the darkness.

Бог увидел свет и понял, что это хорошо. Затем Бог отделил свет от тьмы.

God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” And there was evening, and there was morning — the first day.

И назвал Он свет — днём, а тьму — ночью. И был вечер, а потом было утро. Это был день первый.

And God said, “Let there be a vault between the waters to separate water from water.”

Тогда Бог сказал: "Да будет нечто, разделяющее воду посередине!"

So God made the vault and separated the water under the vault from the water above it. And it was so.

И сотворил Бог воздух и разделил воду посередине. Часть вод была над воздухом, а часть — под воздухом.

God called the vault “sky.” And there was evening, and there was morning — the second day.

Бог назвал воздух небом. И был вечер, а потом было утро. Это был день второй.

And God said, “Let the water under the sky be gathered to one place, and let dry ground appear.” And it was so.

Тогда Бог сказал: "Пусть воды, которые под небом, сомкнутся, чтобы появилась суша". И стало так.

God called the dry ground “land,” and the gathered waters he called “seas.” And God saw that it was good.

Бог назвал сушу землёй, а сомкнувшуюся воду назвал морями. И увидел Бог, что это хорошо.

Then God said, “Let the land produce vegetation: seed-bearing plants and trees on the land that bear fruit with seed in it, according to their various kinds.” And it was so.

И тогда Бог сказал: "Да растут на земле трава, злаки и фруктовые деревья. Фруктовые деревья будут приносить плоды с семенами, и каждое растение будет производить собственные семена согласно тому, какое это растение. Да будут эти растения на земле". И стало так.

The land produced vegetation: plants bearing seed according to their kinds and trees bearing fruit with seed in it according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

На земле росли трава, злаки и деревья, приносившие плоды с семенами. Каждое растение порождало собственные семена согласно тому, какое это растение. И увидел Бог, что это хорошо.

And there was evening, and there was morning — the third day.

И был вечер, а потом было утро. Это был день третий.

And God said, “Let there be lights in the vault of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark sacred times, and days and years,

Тогда Бог сказал: "Да будут в небе светила. Они отделят дни от ночей, будут служить для особых знамений и указывать время для священных собраний. И ещё они будут служить для указания дней и лет.

and let them be lights in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth.” And it was so.

Эти светила будут в небе, чтобы светить на землю". И стало так.

God made two great lights — the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars.

И сотворил Бог два великих светила: одно светило большее, чтобы властвовать над днём, а другое — меньшее, чтобы властвовать над ночью. Бог сотворил также звёзды

God set them in the vault of the sky to give light on the earth,

и поместил все эти светила на небеса, чтобы они сияли над землёй.

to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.

Он поместил эти светила на небеса, чтобы они властвовали над днём и над ночью и отделяли свет от тьмы. И увидел Бог, что это хорошо.

And there was evening, and there was morning — the fourth day.

И был вечер, а потом было утро. Это был день четвёртый.

And God said, “Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the vault of the sky.”

Тогда Бог сказал: "Да заполнит воду множество живых тварей, и да летают птицы в воздухе над землёй".

So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living thing with which the water teems and that moves about in it, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.

И сотворил Бог морских чудовищ, сотворил всё живое, что движется в море. В море множество разных животных, и все они сотворены Богом! Бог сотворил также и всякого рода птиц, летающих в небе. И увидел Бог, что это хорошо.

God blessed them and said, “Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth.”

Бог благословил этих животных и велел им расплодиться и заполнить моря. Бог велел птицам на суше наплодить великое множество птиц.

And there was evening, and there was morning — the fifth day.

И был вечер, а потом было утро. Это был день пятый.

And God said, “Let the land produce living creatures according to their kinds: the livestock, the creatures that move along the ground, and the wild animals, each according to its kind.” And it was so.

Тогда Бог сказал: "Да породит земля множество живых тварей, множество разных животных, и да будут крупные животные и мелкие ползучие животные всякого рода, и да наплодят эти животные других животных". И стало так.

God made the wild animals according to their kinds, the livestock according to their kinds, and all the creatures that move along the ground according to their kinds. And God saw that it was good.

И сотворил Бог всякого рода животных: диких зверей, домашних животных и всех мелких ползучих тварей. И увидел Бог, что это хорошо.

Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,a and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

Тогда Бог сказал: "Теперь сотворим человека". Сотворим людей по Нашему образу и подобию. Они будут властвовать над всеми рыбами в море и над всеми птицами в небе, будут властвовать над всеми крупными животными и над всеми мелкими тварями, ползающими по земле".

So God created mankind in his own image, in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.

И сотворил Бог людей по Своему образу и подобию, сотворил мужчин и женщин, благословил их и сказал им:

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.”

"Обзаводитесь детьми, чтобы умножалось число людей. Заполните землю и владейте ею. Властвуйте над рыбами в море и птицами в небе, властвуйте над всеми живыми тварями, движущимися по земле".

Then God said, “I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food.

Бог сказал: "Я даю вам все злаки и все фруктовые деревья, которые приносят плоды с семенами. Зерно и плоды будут вашей пищей.

And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds in the sky and all the creatures that move along the ground — everything that has the breath of life in it — I give every green plant for food.” And it was so.

Я также даю животным все зелёные растения. Все животные на земле, все птицы в небе и вся ползучая мелочь на земле будут питаться ими". И стало так.

God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning — the sixth day.

Бог посмотрел на всё, созданное Им, и увидел, что всё это очень хорошо. И был вечер, а потом было утро. Это был день шестой.
