Therefore, having this ministry, as we have had mercy shewn us, we faint not.

Милостью Божьей продолжая свои труды, мы рук не опускаем.

But we have rejected the hidden things of shame, not walking in deceit, nor falsifying the word of God, but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every conscience of men before God.

И уж, конечно, стыдливо правду не прячем, не плутуем, Слова Божьего не искажаем. Наоборот, человеческой совести перед Богом как есть открываем на людях всю истину.

But if also our gospel is veiled, it is veiled in those that are lost;

А если и закрыто наше евангелие, то закрыто оно для тех, кто идет путем погибели:

in whom the god of this world has blinded the thoughts of the unbelieving, so that the radiancy of the glad tidings of the glory of the Christ, who is [the] image of God, should not shine forth [for them].

Бог века сего затмил разум неверующих, и они не видят света евангелия — славу Христа, образа Божьего.

For we do not preach ourselves, but Christ Jesus Lord, and ourselves your bondmen for Jesus' sake.

Мы не о себе возвещаем, а об Иисусе Христе, Господе. Сами же мы — ваши рабы ради Иисуса.

Because [it is] the God who spoke that out of darkness light should shine who has shone in our hearts for the shining forth of the knowledge of the glory of God in [the] face of [Jesus] Christ.

Бог, сказавший: «Свет да воссияет во тьме!», пролил в наши сердца свет знания, свет Божьей славы в лице Иисуса Христа.

But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the surpassingness of the power may be of God, and not from us:

Но это сокровище мы носим в сосудах скудельных. Ясно, что сила преодоления исходит от Бога, а не от нас.

every way afflicted, but not straitened; seeing no apparent issue, but our way not entirely shut up;

Лишают нас воздуха, но нам вольно дышится. Не дают нам проходу, но у нас всегда есть выход.

persecuted, but not abandoned; cast down, but not destroyed;

Гонят нас отовсюду, но мы не бесприютны. Сживают со свету, но мы как были, так и есть.

always bearing about in the body the dying of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our body;

Мы в своем теле всегда носим умирание Иисуса. Значит, в нашем теле живет жизнь Иисуса.

for we who live are always delivered unto death on account of Jesus, that the life also of Jesus may be manifested in our mortal flesh;

Мы, живые, беспрестанно принимаем смерть ради Иисуса. Значит, в смертной нашей плоти живет жизнь Иисуса.

so that death works in us, but life in you.

Словом, смерть работает на жизнь. Вот как мы на вас.

And having the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, I have believed, therefore have I spoken; we also believe, therefore also we speak;

В том же духе веры, как написано: «Я верил и потому говорил...» — и мы верим и потому говорим.

knowing that he who has raised the Lord Jesus shall raise us also with Jesus, and shall present [us] with you.

И знаем: Тот, кто воскресил Господа Иисуса, воскресит и нас заодно с Иисусом, поставит перед Собой рядом с вами.

For all things [are] for your sakes, that the grace abounding through the many may cause thanksgiving to abound to the glory of God.

Всё — для вас, все для того, чтобы множество благодати в равной степени обернулось множественным благодарением во славу Божью.

Wherefore we faint not; but if indeed our outward man is consumed, yet the inward is renewed day by day.

Нет, мы рук не опускаем. Если по своему наружному свойству мы и подвержены старению, то по внутреннему обновляемся день ото дня.

For our momentary [and] light affliction works for us in surpassing measure an eternal weight of glory;

Коротенькое, едва заметное наше страдание не идет ни в какое сравнение с вечной славой, которую оно нам готовит. Эта слава все перевесит.

while we look not at the things that are seen, but at the things that are not seen; for the things that are seen [are] for a time, but those that are not seen eternal.

Мы взор обращаем не на видимое, а на невидимое. Видимое проходит, а невидимое живет вечно.
