Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God that is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:

Павал, з волі Божай апостал Ісуса Хрыста, і Цімафей, брат, — царкве Божай, што ў Карыньце, з усімі сьвятымі, якія ў-ва ўсёй Ахаі:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

ласка вам і супакой ад Бога Айца нашага і Госпада Ісуса Хрыста.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

Дабраслаўлёны Бог і Айцец Госпада нашага Ісуса Хрыста, Айцец міласэрнасьці і Бог усякага пацяшэньня,

who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Які пацяшае нас у кожным прыгнёце нашым, каб мы маглі пацяшаць тых, якія ў-ва ўсялякім прыгнёце, пацяшэньнем, якім Бог пацяшае нас!

For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.a

Бо як памнажаюцца ў нас пакуты Хрыстовыя, гэтак праз Хрыста памнажаецца і пацяшэньне нашае.

If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer.

А калі мы сьціснутыя, дык дзеля вашага пацяшэньня і збаўленьня, якое зьдзяйсьняецца праз перажываньне тых самых пакутаў, якія і мы церпім. Калі мы пацешаныя, дык дзеля вашага пацяшэньня і збаўленьня.

Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.

І надзея нашая на вас цьвёрдая, бо мы ведаем, што вы супольнікі як пакутаў, так і пацяшэньня.

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers,b of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself.

Бо мы ня хочам, каб вы, браты, ня ведалі пра наш прыгнёт, які стаўся нам у Азіі, бо бязьмерна цяжка было нам і па-над сілу, так што мы згубілі надзею застацца жывымі.

Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.

Але мы мелі самі ў сабе прысуд сьмяротны, каб спадзявацца не на саміх сябе, але на Бога, Які ўваскрашае мёртвых,

He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again.

Які і выбавіў нас ад так вялікай сьмерці, і выбаўляе, на Якога спадзяемся, што і яшчэ выбаўляць будзе

You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.

пры дапамозе і вашай малітвы за нас, каб за дараванае нам па просьбе многіх дзякавалі за нас многія.

For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicityc and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you.

Бо пахвала нашая гэткая — сьведчаньне сумленьня нашага, што мы ў прастаце і шчырасьці Божай, не ў цялеснай мудрасьці, але ў ласцы Божай жылі ў сьвеце, а асабліва ў вас.

For we are not writing to you anything other than what you read and understand and I hope you will fully understand —

Бо мы пішам вам ня што іншае, але тое, што вы чытаеце ці пазнаяцё, а спадзяюся, што да канца спазнаеце,

just as you did partially understand us — that on the day of our Lord Jesus you will boast of us as we will boast of you.

як вы часткова і даведаліся ад нас, што мы — пахвала вашая, як і вы — нашая, у дзень Госпада Ісуса.

Because I was sure of this, I wanted to come to you first, so that you might have a second experience of grace.

І з гэтай пэўнасьцю я хацеў прыйсьці да вас раней, каб вы другі раз мелі ласку,

I wanted to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and to come back to you from Macedonia and have you send me on my way to Judea.

і праз вас прайсьці ў Македонію, і зноў з Македоніі прыйсьці да вас, а вы правялі б мяне ў Юдэю.

Was I vacillating when I wanted to do this? Do I make my plans according to the flesh, ready to say “Yes, yes” and “No, no” at the same time?

Маючы гэткую пастанову, ці я лёгкадумна зрабіў? Ці тое, што я пастанаўляю, паводле цела пастанаўляю, каб было ў мяне «Так, так» і «Не, не»?

As surely as God is faithful, our word to you has not been Yes and No.

Верны ж Бог, што слова нашае да вас не было «Так» і «Не»!

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes.

Бо Сын Божы, Ісус Хрыстос, Якога мы ў вас абвяшчалі, і я, і Сілуан, і Цімафей, ня быў «Так» і «Не», але было ў Ім «Так».

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

Бо ўсе абяцаньні Божыя ў Ім «Так» і ў Ім «Амэн», на славу Богу праз нас.

And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us,

А Той, Які зацьвердзіў нас з вамі ў Хрысьце і памазаў нас, ёсьць Бог,

and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.d

Які і запячатаў нас, і даў заруку Духа ў сэрцы нашыя.

But I call God to witness against me — it was to spare you that I refrained from coming again to Corinth.

Прызываю Бога ў сьведкі на душу маю, што, шкадуючы вас, я дагэтуль не прыйшоў у Карынт;

Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, for you stand firm in your faith.

не таму, што мы пануем над вераю вашай, але мы супрацоўнікі ў радасьці вашай, бо ў веры вы стаіцё.
