Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, To the church of God that is at Corinth, with all the saints who are in the whole of Achaia:

Павал, Апостал Ісуса Хрыста па волі Бога, і Цімахвей брат царкве Бога, якая знаходзіцца ў Карыньце, са ўсімі сьвятымі, што знаходзяцца па ўсёй Ахайі:

Grace to you and peace from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.

Багадаць вам і мір ад Бога Бацькі нашага і Госпада Ісуса Хрыста.

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort,

Багаславёны Бог і Бацька Госпада нашага Ісуса Хрыста, Бацька міласэрнасьці і Бог усякага суцяшэньня,

who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God.

Які суцяшае нас у кожным нашым горы, каб мы маглі суцяшаць тых, што знаходзяцца ва ўсякім горы, тым суцяшэньнем, якім Бог суцяшае нас саміх!

For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.a

Бо паколькі памнажаюцца пакуты Хрыста ў нас, пастолькі памнажаецца і суцяшэньне нашае цераз Хрыста.

If we are afflicted, it is for your comfort and salvation; and if we are comforted, it is for your comfort, which you experience when you patiently endure the same sufferings that we suffer.

Калі ж мы церпім уціск, дык дзеля вашага суцяшэньня і выратаваньня, якое адбываецца цераз ператрываньне тых жа пакутаў, якія і мы трываем. Калі мы суцяшаемы, дык дзеля вашага суцяшэньня і збаўленьня. І надзея нашая на вас цьвёрдая,

Our hope for you is unshaken, for we know that as you share in our sufferings, you will also share in our comfort.

ведаючы, што вы зьяўляецеся ўдзельнікамі як у пакутах (нашых), так і ў суцяшэньні.

For we do not want you to be unaware, brothers,b of the affliction we experienced in Asia. For we were so utterly burdened beyond our strength that we despaired of life itself.

Бо ня хочам, каб вы ня ведалі, браты, пра нашае гора, якое здарылася з намі ў Азіі, таму што прыгнечаны мы былí звыш меры (і) звыш сілы, так што мы нават згубілі надзею выжыць.

Indeed, we felt that we had received the sentence of death. But that was to make us rely not on ourselves but on God who raises the dead.

Але (мы) самі ў сабе мелі прысуд сьмерці, каб спадзявацца (нам) ня на сябе, але на Бога, Які ўваскрашае мёртвых,

He delivered us from such a deadly peril, and he will deliver us. On him we have set our hope that he will deliver us again.

Які збавіў нас ад гэткай (жахлівай) сьмерці і (далей) збаўляе, на Якога спадзяёмся, што і яшчэ збавіць

You also must help us by prayer, so that many will give thanks on our behalf for the blessing granted us through the prayers of many.

і пры спрыяльнай вашай малітве за нас, каб праз (малітвы) многіх аб дару нам, многія атрымалі падставу быць удзячнымі за нас.

For our boast is this, the testimony of our conscience, that we behaved in the world with simplicityc and godly sincerity, not by earthly wisdom but by the grace of God, and supremely so toward you.

Бо пахвала нашая ёсьць у тым, аб чым сьведчыць (і) сумленьне нашае, што мы жылí ў сьвеце гэтым, асабліва ж у вас, у прастаце і шчырасьці Божай, (кіруючыся) ня мудрасьцяй плоцкай, але Багадацьцю Божай.

For we are not writing to you anything other than what you read and understand and I hope you will fully understand —

Таму што мы пішам да вас ня нейкім іншасказаньнем, але тое, што вы чытаеце ці нават разумееце; спадзяюся ж, што і да канца зразумееце,

just as you did partially understand us — that on the day of our Lord Jesus you will boast of us as we will boast of you.

як вы часткова і зразумелі нас, што мы зьяўляемся пахвалой вашай, як і вы — нашай у дзень Госпада Ісуса.

Because I was sure of this, I wanted to come to you first, so that you might have a second experience of grace.

З гэткай упэўненасьцяй хацеў я прыйсьці да вас (яшчэ) раней, каб вы ў другі раз атрымалі (гэткую) Багадаць;

I wanted to visit you on my way to Macedonia, and to come back to you from Macedonia and have you send me on my way to Judea.

і праз вас прайсьці ў Македонію, ды ізноў із Македоніі прыйсьці да вас, і ад вас быць праведзеным у Юдэю.

Was I vacillating when I wanted to do this? Do I make my plans according to the flesh, ready to say “Yes, yes” and “No, no” at the same time?

Дык прымаючы гэткі намер, няўжо я тады выявіў лёгкадумнасьць? Ці тое, што я рашаю, рашаю па плоці, так што ў мяне бывае (адначасна) то «так, так», то «не, не»?

As surely as God is faithful, our word to you has not been Yes and No.

Верны ж Бог, што слова нашае да вас ня было то «так», то «не».

For the Son of God, Jesus Christ, whom we proclaimed among you, Silvanus and Timothy and I, was not Yes and No, but in him it is always Yes.

Таму што Божы Сын, Ісус Хрыстос, Які быў прапаведаны намі сярод вас, (і) мной і Сілуанам, і Цімахвеям, ня быў то «так», то «не», але ў Ім было (толькі) «так».

For all the promises of God find their Yes in him. That is why it is through him that we utter our Amen to God for his glory.

Бо ўсе абяцаньні Бога ў Ім «так» і ў Ім «амін», — на славу Богу цераз нас.

And it is God who establishes us with you in Christ, and has anointed us,

Той жа, Хто ўмацоўвае нас з вамі ў Хрысьце і памазаў нас (ёсьць) Бог,

and who has also put his seal on us and given us his Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.d

Які і паклаў на нас (Сваю) пячатку і даў (нам) задатак Духа ў сэрцы нашыя.

But I call God to witness against me — it was to spare you that I refrained from coming again to Corinth.

Я ж заклікаю Бога ў сьведкі на маю душу́, што, шкадуючы вас, я дагэтуль ня прыйшоў у Карынт.

Not that we lord it over your faith, but we work with you for your joy, for you stand firm in your faith.

Ня таму, што мы пануем над верай вашай, але спрыяем вам у радасьці вашай; бо ў веры вы стаіце́ цьвёрда.
