aThen the LORD said to Moses, “Go back to Pharaoh and announce to him, ‘This is what the LORD says: Let my people go, so they can worship me.

И҆ речѐ гд҇ь къ мѡѷсе́ю: вни́ди къ фараѡ́нѹ и҆ рече́ши къ немѹ̀: сїѧ҄ гл҃етъ гд҇ь: ѿпѹстѝ лю́ди моѧ҄, да мѝ послѹ́жатъ:

If you refuse to let them go, I will send a plague of frogs across your entire land.

а҆́ще же не хо́щеши ты̀ ѿпѹсти́ти, сѐ, а҆́зъ побива́ю всѧ҄ предѣ́лы твоѧ҄ жа́бами:

The Nile River will swarm with frogs. They will come up out of the river and into your palace, even into your bedroom and onto your bed! They will enter the houses of your officials and your people. They will even jump into your ovens and your kneading bowls.

и҆ и҆зры́гнетъ рѣка̀ жа҄бы, и҆ и҆злѣ́зшѧ вни́дѹтъ въ до́мы твоѧ҄ и҆ въ клѣ҄ти ло́жницъ твои́хъ, и҆ на постє́ли твоѧ҄ и҆ въ до́мы рабѡ́въ твои́хъ и҆ люді́й твои́хъ, и҆ въ тѣ҄ста твоѧ҄ и҆ въ пе́щы твоѧ҄,

Frogs will jump on you, your people, and all your officials.’”

и҆ на тѧ̀ и҆ на рабы҄ твоѧ҄ и҆ на лю́ди твоѧ҄ возлѣ́зѹтъ жа҄бы.

bThen the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Raise the staff in your hand over all the rivers, canals, and ponds of Egypt, and bring up frogs over all the land.’”

Рече́ же гд҇ь къ мѡѷсе́ю: рцы̀ а҆арѡ́нѹ бра́тѹ твоемѹ̀: прострѝ рѹко́ю твое́ю же́злъ тво́й на рѣ́ки и҆ на кла҄дѧзи и҆ на є҆зе́ра, и҆ и҆зведѝ жа҄бы на зе́млю є҆гѵ́петскѹю.

So Aaron raised his hand over the waters of Egypt, and frogs came up and covered the whole land!

И҆ прострѐ а҆арѡ́нъ рѹ́кѹ на во́ды є҆гѵ́пєтскїѧ и҆ и҆зведѐ жа҄бы: и҆ и҆злѣзо́ша жа҄бы и҆ покры́ша зе́млю є҆гѵ́петскѹю.

But the magicians were able to do the same thing with their magic. They, too, caused frogs to come up on the land of Egypt.

Сотвори́ша же и҆ волсвѝ є҆гѵ́петстїи волхвова́нїѧми свои́ми та́кожде и҆ и҆зведо́ша жа҄бы на зе́млю є҆гѵ́петскѹю.

Then Pharaoh summoned Moses and Aaron and begged, “Plead with the LORD to take the frogs away from me and my people. I will let your people go, so they can offer sacrifices to the LORD.”

Призва́ же фараѡ́нъ мѡѷсе́а и҆ а҆арѡ́на и҆ речѐ: помоли́тесѧ ѡ҆ мнѣ̀ ко гд҇ѹ, да ѿжене́тъ ѿ менє̀ жа҄бы и҆ ѿ люді́й мои́хъ: и҆ ѿпѹщѹ̀ лю́ди, и҆ пожрѹ́тъ гд҇ви.

“You set the time!” Moses replied. “Tell me when you want me to pray for you, your officials, and your people. Then you and your houses will be rid of the frogs. They will remain only in the Nile River.”

Рече́ же мѡѷсе́й къ фараѡ́нѹ: ѡ҆предѣлѝ мнѣ̀, когда̀ помолю́сѧ ѡ҆ тебѣ̀ и҆ ѡ҆ рабѣ́хъ твои́хъ и҆ ѡ҆ лю́дехъ твои́хъ, да поги́бнѹтъ жа҄бы ѿ тебє̀ и҆ ѿ люді́й твои́хъ и҆ ѿ домѡ́въ ва́шихъ, то́чїю въ рѣцѣ̀ да ѡ҆ста́нѹтсѧ.

“Do it tomorrow,” Pharaoh said. “All right,” Moses replied, “it will be as you have said. Then you will know that there is no one like the LORD our God.

Ѻ҆́нъ же речѐ: заѹ́тра. Речѐ ѹ҆̀бо: ѩ҆́коже ре́клъ є҆сѝ, да ѹ҆вѣ́си, ѩ҆́кѡ нѣ́сть и҆но́гѡ ра́звѣ гд҇а:

The frogs will leave you and your houses, your officials, and your people. They will remain only in the Nile River.”

и҆ ѿженѹ́тсѧ жа҄бы ѿ тебє̀ и҆ ѿ домѡ́въ ва́шихъ и҆ ѿ се́лъ, и҆ ѿ рабѡ́въ твои́хъ и҆ ѿ люді́й твои́хъ, то́чїю въ рѣцѣ̀ ѡ҆ста́нѹтсѧ.

So Moses and Aaron left Pharaoh’s palace, and Moses cried out to the LORD about the frogs he had inflicted on Pharaoh.

И҆зы́де же мѡѷсе́й и҆ а҆арѡ́нъ ѿ фараѡ́на, и҆ возопѝ мѡѷсе́й ко гд҇ѹ ѡ҆ ѡ҆предѣле́нїи жа́бъ, ѩ҆́коже совѣща̀ съ фараѡ́номъ.

And the LORD did just what Moses had predicted. The frogs in the houses, the courtyards, and the fields all died.

Сотвори́ же гд҇ь, ѩ҆́коже речѐ мѡѷсе́й: и҆ и҆зомро́ша жа҄бы ѿ домѡ́въ и҆ ѿ се́лъ и҆ ѿ ни́въ и҆́хъ:

The Egyptians piled them into great heaps, and a terrible stench filled the land.

и҆ собра́ша ѧ҆̀ въ сто́ги сто́ги, и҆ возсмердѣ́сѧ землѧ̀.

But when Pharaoh saw that relief had come, he became stubborn.c He refused to listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had predicted.

Ви́дѣвъ же фараѡ́нъ, ѩ҆́кѡ бы́сть ѿра́да, ѡ҆тѧготи́сѧ се́рдце є҆гѡ̀, и҆ не послѹ́ша и҆́хъ, ѩ҆́коже речѐ гд҇ь.

So the LORD said to Moses, “Tell Aaron, ‘Raise your staff and strike the ground. The dust will turn into swarms of gnats throughout the land of Egypt.’”

И҆ речѐ гд҇ь къ мѡѷсе́ю: рцы̀ а҆арѡ́нѹ: прострѝ рѹко́ю же́злъ тво́й и҆ ѹ҆да́ри въ пе́рсть земнѹ́ю, и҆ бѹ́дѹтъ скнї҄пы въ человѣ́цѣхъ и҆ въ скотѣ́хъ, и҆ на фараѡ́нѣ и҆ на до́мѣ є҆гѡ̀ и҆ рабѣ́хъ є҆гѡ̀, и҆ ве́сь песо́къ земны́й ста́нетъ скні́пами во все́й землѝ є҆гѵ́петстѣй.

So Moses and Aaron did just as the LORD had commanded them. When Aaron raised his hand and struck the ground with his staff, gnats infested the entire land, covering the Egyptians and their animals. All the dust in the land of Egypt turned into gnats.

Прострѐ ѹ҆̀бо а҆арѡ́нъ рѹко́ю же́злъ и҆ ѹ҆да́ри въ пе́рсть земнѹ́ю: и҆ бы́ша скнї҄пы въ человѣ́цѣхъ и҆ въ скотѣ́хъ, и҆ во всѧ́кой пе́рсти земно́й бы́ша скнї҄пы во все́й землѝ є҆гѵ́петстѣй.

Pharaoh’s magicians tried to do the same thing with their secret arts, but this time they failed. And the gnats covered everyone, people and animals alike.

Твори́ша же и҆ волсвѝ волхвова́ньми свои́ми та́кожде и҆звестѝ скнї҄пы, и҆ не возмого́ша: и҆ бы́ша скнї҄пы въ человѣ́цѣхъ и҆ скотѣ́хъ.

“This is the finger of God!” the magicians exclaimed to Pharaoh. But Pharaoh’s heart remained hard. He wouldn’t listen to them, just as the LORD had predicted.

Рѣ́ша ѹ҆̀бо волсвѝ фараѡ́нѹ: пе́рстъ бж҃їй є҆́сть сїѐ. И҆ ѡ҆жесточи́сѧ се́рдце фараѡ́ново, и҆ не послѹ́ша и҆́хъ, ѩ҆́коже речѐ гд҇ь.

Then the LORD told Moses, “Get up early in the morning and stand in Pharaoh’s way as he goes down to the river. Say to him, ‘This is what the LORD says: Let my people go, so they can worship me.

Рече́ же гд҇ь къ мѡѷсе́ю: воста́ни заѹ́тра и҆ ста́ни пред̾ фараѡ́номъ, и҆ сѐ, ѻ҆́нъ и҆зы́детъ на во́дѹ, и҆ рече́ши є҆мѹ̀: сїѧ҄ гл҃етъ гд҇ь: ѿпѹстѝ лю́ди моѧ҄, да мѝ послѹ́жатъ въ пѹсты́ни:

If you refuse, then I will send swarms of flies on you, your officials, your people, and all the houses. The Egyptian homes will be filled with flies, and the ground will be covered with them.

а҆́ще же не хо́щеши ѿпѹсти́ти люді́й мои́хъ, сѐ, а҆́зъ посыла́ю на тѧ̀ и҆ на рабы҄ твоѧ҄, и҆ на лю́ди твоѧ҄ и҆ на до́мы ва́шѧ пє́сїѧ мѹ҄хи: и҆ напо́лнѧтсѧ до́мове є҆гѵ́петстїи пе́сїихъ мѹ́хъ и҆ въ землѝ, на не́йже сѹ́ть:

But this time I will spare the region of Goshen, where my people live. No flies will be found there. Then you will know that I am the LORD and that I am present even in the heart of your land.

и҆ просла́влю въ то́й де́нь зе́млю гесе́мскѹ, на не́йже лю́дїе моѝ ста́ша, на не́йже не бѹ́детъ та́мѡ пе́сїихъ мѹ́хъ, да ѹ҆вѣ́си, ѩ҆́кѡ а҆́зъ є҆́смь гд҇ь, бг҃ъ всеѧ̀ землѝ:

I will make a clear distinction betweend my people and your people. This miraculous sign will happen tomorrow.’”

и҆ положѹ̀ разлѹче́нїе междѹ̀ людьмѝ мои́ми и҆ людьмѝ твои́ми: во ѹ҆́трїи же бѹ́детъ зна́менїе сїѐ на землѝ.

And the LORD did just as he had said. A thick swarm of flies filled Pharaoh’s palace and the houses of his officials. The whole land of Egypt was thrown into chaos by the flies.

Сотвори́ же гд҇ь та́кѡ: и҆ прїи́де пе́сїихъ мѹ́хъ мно́жество въ до́мы фараѡ́нѡвы и҆ въ до́мы рабѡ́въ є҆гѡ̀ и҆ во всю̀ зе́млю є҆гѵ́петскѹ, и҆ поги́бе землѧ̀ ѿ пе́сїихъ мѹ́хъ.

Pharaoh called for Moses and Aaron. “All right! Go ahead and offer sacrifices to your God,” he said. “But do it here in this land.”

Воззва́ же фараѡ́нъ мѡѷсе́а и҆ а҆арѡ́на, глаго́лѧ: ше́дше пожри́те же́ртвѹ гд҇ѹ бг҃ѹ ва́шемѹ въ землѝ се́й.

But Moses replied, “That wouldn’t be right. The Egyptians detest the sacrifices that we offer to the LORD our God. Look, if we offer our sacrifices here where the Egyptians can see us, they will stone us.

И҆ речѐ мѡѷсе́й: не мо́жетъ сѐ та́кѡ бы́ти, хѹ́лно бо сѐ є҆гѵ́птѧнѡмъ: не поло́жимъ тре́бѹ гд҇ѹ бг҃ѹ на́шемѹ: а҆́ще бо поло́жимъ тре́бѹ по хѹле́нїю є҆гѵ́петскѹ пред̾ ни́ми, ка́менїемъ побїю́тъ ны̀:

We must take a three-day trip into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the LORD our God, just as he has commanded us.”

пѹте́мъ трїе́хъ дні́й по́йдемъ въ пѹсты́ню и҆ пожре́мъ гд҇ѹ бг҃ѹ на́шемѹ, ѩ҆́коже речѐ гд҇ь на́мъ.

“All right, go ahead,” Pharaoh replied. “I will let you go into the wilderness to offer sacrifices to the LORD your God. But don’t go too far away. Now hurry and pray for me.”

И҆ речѐ фараѡ́нъ: а҆́зъ ѿпѹща́ю вы̀, и҆ пожри́те гд҇ѹ бг҃ѹ ва́шемѹ въ пѹсты́ни: но не дале́че простира́йтесѧ и҆тѝ: помоли́тесѧ ѹ҆̀бо и҆ ѡ҆ мнѣ̀ ко гд҇ѹ.

Moses answered, “As soon as I leave you, I will pray to the LORD, and tomorrow the swarms of flies will disappear from you and your officials and all your people. But I am warning you, Pharaoh, don’t lie to us again and refuse to let the people go to sacrifice to the LORD.”

Рече́ же мѡѷсе́й: сѐ, а҆́зъ и҆зы́дѹ ѿ тебє̀ и҆ помолю́сѧ ко гд҇ѹ бг҃ѹ, и҆ ѿи́дѹтъ пє́сїѧ мѹ҄хи ѿ тебє̀ и҆ ѿ рабѡ́въ твои́хъ и҆ ѿ люді́й твои́хъ заѹ́тра: да не приложи́ши є҆щѐ, фараѡ́не, прельсти́ти, є҆́же не ѿпѹсти́ти люді́й пожре́ти гд҇ѹ.

So Moses left Pharaoh’s palace and pleaded with the LORD to remove all the flies.

И҆зы́де же мѡѷсе́й ѿ фараѡ́на и҆ помоли́сѧ бг҃ѹ.

And the LORD did as Moses asked and caused the swarms of flies to disappear from Pharaoh, his officials, and his people. Not a single fly remained.

Сотвори́ же гд҇ь, ѩ҆́коже речѐ мѡѷсе́й, и҆ ѿѧ̀ пє́сїѧ мѹ҄хи ѿ фараѡ́на и҆ ѿ рабѡ́въ є҆гѡ̀ и҆ ѿ люді́й є҆гѡ̀, и҆ не ѡ҆ста́сѧ ни є҆ди́на.

But Pharaoh again became stubborn and refused to let the people go.

И҆ ѡ҆тѧготѝ фараѡ́нъ се́рдце своѐ и҆ во вре́мѧ сїѐ, и҆ не восхотѣ̀ ѿпѹсти́ти люді́й.
