По истечении двадцати лет, в которые Соломон строил Господень дом и свой дворец,

At the end of twenty years, during which Solomon built the temple of the Lord and his own palace,

Соломон отстроил города, которые дал ему Хирам, и поселил в них израильтян.

Solomon rebuilt the villages that Hirama had given him, and settled Israelites in them.

Затем Соломон пошел к Хамат-Цове и захватил его.

Solomon then went to Hamath Zobah and captured it.

Ещё он построил Тадмор в пустыне и все города для хранения запасов, которые он основал в Хамате.

He also built up Tadmor in the desert and all the store cities he had built in Hamath.

Он отстроил Верхний Бет-Хорон и Нижний Бет-Хорон, сделав их городами-крепостями со стенами и воротами на засовах.

He rebuilt Upper Beth Horon and Lower Beth Horon as fortified cities, with walls and with gates and bars,

Он также отстроил Баалаф, все другие города для хранения запасов и все города для своих колесниц и коней[39]. Соломон построил всё, что ему хотелось построить в Иерусалиме, на Ливане и во всех землях, которыми он правил.

as well as Baalath and all his store cities, and all the cities for his chariots and for his horsesb — whatever he desired to build in Jerusalem, in Lebanon and throughout all the territory he ruled.

Весь народ, оставшийся от хеттов, аморреев, ферезеев, хиввеев и иевусеев (все они не были израильтянами),

There were still people left from the Hittites, Amorites, Perizzites, Hivites and Jebusites (these people were not Israelites).

то есть их потомков, оставшихся в стране, которых израильтяне не искоренили, Соломон использовал подневольными рабочими, как это есть и до сегодняшнего дня.

Solomon conscripted the descendants of all these people remaining in the land — whom the Israelites had not destroyed — to serve as slave labor, as it is to this day.

Но израильтян Соломон не обращал в рабов, выполняющих его работы; они были его воинами, военачальниками и начальниками его колесниц и колесничих.

But Solomon did not make slaves of the Israelites for his work; they were his fighting men, commanders of his captains, and commanders of his chariots and charioteers.

Ещё они были у него главными распорядителями — двести пятьдесят надсмотрщиков над людьми.

They were also King Solomon’s chief officials — two hundred and fifty officials supervising the men.

Соломон переселил дочь фараона из Города Давида во дворец, который он построил для неё, так как он сказал: «Моя жена не должна жить во дворце Давида, царя Израиля, потому что святы места, куда вносили ковчег Господа».

Solomon brought Pharaoh’s daughter up from the City of David to the palace he had built for her, for he said, “My wife must not live in the palace of David king of Israel, because the places the ark of the Lord has entered are holy.”

На жертвеннике Господа, который он построил напротив притвора храма, Соломон возносил Господу всесожжения

On the altar of the Lord that he had built in front of the portico, Solomon sacrificed burnt offerings to the Lord,

по установлениям каждого дня о приношениях, данным Моисеем по субботам, в праздник Новолуния и в три ежегодных праздника — в праздник Пресных хлебов, в праздник Недель и в праздник Шалашей.

according to the daily requirement for offerings commanded by Moses for the Sabbaths, the New Moons and the three annual festivals — the Festival of Unleavened Bread, the Festival of Weeks and the Festival of Tabernacles.

По приказу своего отца Давида он назначил отделения священников для несения службы и левитов, чтобы они возносили хвалу и помогали священникам выполнять то, что требовалось по установлениям каждого дня. Ещё он поставил привратников по отделениям у каждых ворот, потому что так повелел Божий человек Давид.

In keeping with the ordinance of his father David, he appointed the divisions of the priests for their duties, and the Levites to lead the praise and to assist the priests according to each day’s requirement. He also appointed the gatekeepers by divisions for the various gates, because this was what David the man of God had ordered.

Повеления царя священникам и левитам о чем бы то ни было, включая указания о хранении сокровищ, были исполнены в точности.

They did not deviate from the king’s commands to the priests or to the Levites in any matter, including that of the treasuries.

Вся работа Соломона со дня закладки основания Господнего дома до дня его завершения была выполнена. Итак, дом Господа был завершен.

All Solomon’s work was carried out, from the day the foundation of the temple of the Lord was laid until its completion. So the temple of the Lord was finished.

Тогда Соломон отправился в Эцион-Гевер и в Элат на морском побережье, что в земле Эдома.

Then Solomon went to Ezion Geber and Elath on the coast of Edom.

Хирам прислал ему корабли, которые вели его слуги, знавшие море. Вместе с людьми Соломона они отплыли в Офир и привезли оттуда 450 талантов[40] золота, которое и доставили царю Соломону.

And Hiram sent him ships commanded by his own men, sailors who knew the sea. These, with Solomon’s men, sailed to Ophir and brought back four hundred and fifty talentsc of gold, which they delivered to King Solomon.
